     Into the morning sky flies a new melody hum hum
Born for a day in the heart of a lover in gay Paree
     Under the Paris sky happy people will soon hum hum
All afternoon find love as they walk to that special tune
     First on the Quai d'Orsay
     A man in pin-stripe grey
Then two gendarmes some tourists then everyone you can see
     Until the evening sing to this new melody hum hum
Lovers in hymn of love to beloved Paree.

Down in the Métro
     Parisians know
          Life goes to and fro
          So wait patiently
For where no summer sun breaks through
     This melody still brings to you
          Parisian love
          From blue skies above.

Even the cloudy keys do not linger for long hum hum
Rainbow notes soon bring joy to the song of Paree.
