COLIN SMOULT'S REVIEW

On Friday I was at the Office again, but this time to see the latest line up of the Thin Lizzy tribute band Black Rose. So the question is "are they any better?". A very big YES!

Martin the new guitarist fits in perfectly and brings out the very best in the rest of the band. His sound is far more authentic and his playing is the exact foil that Ben (the main guitarist / lead vocalist) needs. At last this is the definitive line up and ALL the band are performing at their peak. If you haven't seen them for a while then make a point of checking them out once more.

My only complaint of the evening was that the whole sound could have been cranked a lot louder for the size of the room. Unfortunately Ben told me that the band had a spate of blowing gear up at one time so now they treat it all very carefully. Still I would have liked to have heard it a bit louder and definitely with enough volume to stop people easily talking over the band when I was only situated half way down the room.

We're working on making it louder. Trust me....Ben
