2-Day Tudor Project

The 2-Day Tudor project is fun, challenging and rewarding. During 2 days of workshops and rehearsals, students prepare to perform 'The Tudor Dynasty' - a hilarious historical play following the lives and loves - and how they lost them - of all the Tudor monarchs. The 2 days culminate in an evening performance to which an audience can be invited. Schools are actively involved by preparing some cross-curricular aspects of the performance in advance - Tudor dances, songs and music, some casting, short pieces of Shakespeare and similar.
Suitable for Years 5-8 (age 9-13 yrs), Maximum of 90 children (3 classes)
“The children had a fantastic time and got a lot out of these 2 days…they would do it all again tomorrow given half a chance!”
St Sampsons Junior School, Wiltshire (Year 5)

Corfe Castle Drama Day

A day of workshops based around Corfe Castle. Each workshop is an hour long and delivered to one class at a time. There are 3 workshops to choose from, and the 'mix-and-match' set up of the day ensures that we can tailor the day to suit your school size and curriculum. Schools can choose any or all of the workshops. Suitable for Years 5-8 (age 9-13 yrs)
Workshops are:
'A Day in the Life of a Castle' - Daily life in a Medieval Castle through the eyes of Lady Eleanor
'Corfe under Siege' - Tactics and practicalities of the various Medieval sieges of Corfe Castle
'The Fall of Corfe' - Re-enact the story of Corfe Castle's fall through betrayal in the Civil War
“A good range of content and pupils used a lot of drama skills” Ferndown Middle School (years 5 & 8)

Give us a Shake – Shakespeare Gameshow and Workshop

Give us a Shake enthuses students about Shakespeare, and gives a broad introduction to the material. Set in the Globe theatre, the gameshow ‘Give us a Shake’ is fast-paced and fun, with famous characters in the hot seat, sketches and scenes, Shakespearian language and strange words. Fired up by the gameshow, students then get a chance to perform scenes themselves and practice performance techniques in workshops. Texts looked at during the workshops can be tailored to suit your course of study.
Suitable for Years 5-9 (age 9-14 yrs), Maximum of 90 children (3 classes) per ½ day session
“An excellent way to demystify and humanise Shakespeare. A lot of formerly disengaged students are now eagerly awaiting next year!”
Court Moor Secondary School (y8)

Creative Drama Day

A Creative Day begins with the ultimate in imagination – the students will devise and perform their own unique new play in just an hour. Following the performance, workshops led by our 3 actors allow students to explore ideas in the play, practice performance skills, and work together in small groups to produce short scenes. We provide you with a written copy of your unique play for follow up work, and an activity pack of cross-curricular ideas.
Suitable for Year 3 upwards (age 7+), Maximum of 90 children (3 classes)
“Excellent creative concept, which brought out some good ideas which could be followed up in a variety of subjects. The workshops provided a useful platform, which introduced skills the children found new, exciting and were able to utilise. I would like to thank Treehouse Theatre for their work and the excellent atmosphere they created.” Court Moor Secondary School (y7).
