A Play-in-a-Day

A unique way of teaching and entertaining children

“A very well organised, exciting and informative day – all on task, all the time!” Salway Ash Primary, Hampshire

A Play-in-a-Day with Treehouse Theatre is a vibrant and interactive learning experience, without the hassle of travelling to a theatre. We believe in child-centred learning, and we don’t try to produce a perfect polished piece of theatre that children will just sit and watch - every member of the audience is a participant in these plays.
“It was great to see even the shy pupils really joining in and feeling non-threatened” Stourfield Junior School, Dorset

All Plays are written for 50-150 key stage 2 children.

The day begins with workshops to familiarise the children with the play and their parts within it. In the afternoon the children come together to perform the play with actor (and qualified teacher), Ben Lindsey-Clark More >>>

“An excellent day with superb links within the curriculum…met our needs incredibly well” Wimborne First School, Dorset

“I enjoyed the bit when I was in the chariot race – it was fun! I won the long jump and you cheered for me. My costume was fabulous” (War and Peace in Ancient Greece)
“I really enjoyed being Lady Jane Grey because I like the part when I get my head chopped off” (The Tudor Dynasty)
“I know things I didn’t know before. I had to pretend to be pregnant and my name was Nui. Everyone laughed when they first saw me. I had such a great time” (Ancient Egypt: History’s Mystery)

All of our Play-in-a-Days combine drama and the Key Stage 2 National History Curriculum, bringing the past to life in an unforgettable way.

For older children check out Drama Days or Tale Enders .  Younger children will enjoy Story Box

“It was wonderful to see the children who don’t usually have opportunities to act. We all glowed at the end of the day”
