Kidderminster Harriers Manager and ex fellow Walsall FC team mate Stuart Watkiss pursuaded Wayne to come and play at Aggborough, Staurt said; "Wayne has a wealth of experience, he has played at the higher level and he can bring stability to our team which has been missing for a few seasons. He can play either full back, centre-half or a sweeper position, this will give me various options when selecting the team for the up and coming season."

He signed a 12 month deal in July 2005, this was to be short lived as in October 2005 Wayne had been offered a role at Welsh Premier side TNS as Director of Youth development and was released by mutual consent.
