NMA did a few dates in Scotland. Heathery club at Wishaw was a good laugh. That night the band was so chuffed that we'd all made an effort to do those dates, they did a cover version of Monster mash as an encore. Unusual as NMA never did covers back then.
At Dundee's Fat Sam's night club the intro had just finished and the band were just about to play when suddenly loads of bouncers came into the crowd and carried Reev off. The band stopped playing and refused to carry on until they brought him back in.
At Glasgow 's Queen Margaret's Union on another Scotland tour the people knew how to party, that was a fearsome gig. The punters just kept on drinking, everyone seemed to be on pints and chasers and when the band played the atmosphere was electric. Justin lost his temper with a punter, as he had been giving Joolz grief when she was on before hand. Then he started on Justin, all of a sudden the mic stand went into the crowd and Justin's clog followed after, straight into the bloke's face. Which is surprising, as Justin isn't a violent man.

The gigs at the Marquee (Soho London at that time) were always excellent, with all those sweaty bodies. I think that's where the band did the first gig as "Raw Melody Men" or it could have been just before the `No rest` tour, at a sports centre. My memory isn't that good. We always had a good time at gigs, doing the usual things, three-man shoulder carries, six man pyramids and throwing people in the air. Gavin, Rik and Little Ann always being thrown about. If you've ever seen the live Marquee video of 85, the girl with the red hair flying through the air is Little Ann.
The only gig they didn't do an encore was at Stevenage Bowes Lyon , near to where I live. It wasn't because the fans didn't want them back on, the band just didn't take to the audience.
