Bus Hire
If you need transport for a group of people with bikes the BikeBus could be the answer. Groups from other countries, local cycling clubs and school parties are the most frequent users of the BikeBus. You can bring your own bikes or they can be provided, we can meet you at the airport or ferry terminal - whatever you want.
The minimum charge for use of the BikeBus is £100 per day. This minimum charge gets you 80 miles of driving, each mile after that is charged at £1.10. The bus can carry 14 passengers and the same number of bikes, there is also room for luggage. All journeys start and finish in Edinburgh, this means that if you want to start in (say) Glasgow, we will have to drive there to fetch you and unfortunately you'll have to pay for that too. We'll be happy to pencil you in for any dates we have free, but a firm reservation requires a deposit of £50 or 20%.
Using the BikeBus will generally be cheaper than catching a train providing the party is of reasonable size, 14 people could have a day out in the Scottish Borders for about £9 each. If you wanted to have the BikeBus accompany you for a week, carrying luggage and generally being a backup vehicle it would amount to £40 per person for 14 people (based on minimum charge). For journeys of longer than one day the driver must be provided with accommodation on a similar basis to the cyclists.
