BikeBus - Conditions of Carriage
We are responsible for safety while you are riding in the bus, at all other times passengers are responsible for their own safety.
Seat belts must be worn at all times.
Cyclists must check their brakes and steering after bikes are unloaded.
The BikeBus is a transport service. The driver is not a tour leader, a cycling instructor, a ski instructor or a hill leader. While the BikeBus may provide information by selling maps etc; passengers must still take their own decisions about what activities are safe and appropriate for them to do.
While we are happy to carry children of any age in the bus we cannot be responsible for looking after them at other times.
Liability for death or personal injury or other loss or damage to non fare paying passengers is excluded, except where this is by our negligence.
Passengers leave valuables (including bicycles) in the bus or trailer at their own risk, cyclists should lock their bicycles if unattended. We are not liable for any loss or damage to luggage or cycles where we are not negligent.
We do not provide cycle hire ourselves, but are happy to pass requests on to a cycle hirer. If we do this passengers cycle hire contract is with the cycle hirer and not with the BikeBus. This applies even if, as a service, we collect cycles from the hire shop.
A reservation in the BikeBus requires the bus fare to be paid in full unless otherwise agreed. For group bookings a deposit of the greater of £50 or 20% of full payment is required. This must be paid at the time of reservation. In the absence of payment no reservation exists. In the event of cancellation any refund is at our discretion. Full payment must be made before commencement of journey.
We undertake to use our best efforts to carry passengers and bicycles as agreed. To date in over eight years of operation we have never let anyone down. However the possibility of accident, driver illness, mechanical failure etc does exist. If for any reason we are unable to transport you, our liability is restricted to a refund of money directly paid to us.
