Custom Tours
We don't actually do custom tours, so why this web page? Keep on reading!
If you'd like to organise your own custom tour we can help in a number of ways. First of
all I'd suggest you click on Road Cycling, Mountain
Biking or What's it Really Like? if you need basic
information about what cycling in Scotland is like and help with selecting a route. If you
are a group and need transport look at Bus Hire, if you need
bike hire obviously look at Bike Hire.
As far as accommodation is concerned some people just arrive and
only start worrying about a bed for the night at the end of each days cycling, this can
work surprisingly well. Another alternative is to phone ahead to book the next night's
accommodation, Local Tourist Offices will do this for you, if you phone the Scottish
Tourist Board (0131-332 2433) they can send you information about this.
The alternative to hotels and B&Bs are hostels, SYHA and private.
My book 101 Bike Routes in Scotland has details of most of these, plus the local
tourist office phone numbers, see Road Cycling.
If
having read all this, you'd still like the tour organised for you, with accommodation and
bike rental, maybe even a leader to show you the way, contact Scottish Cycle Safaris, 29
Blackfriars Street, Edinburgh. 0131-556 5560. Speak to Peter who will discuss what you
would like and set the whole thing up for you. His charge for this is £20 per person per
day.
