Summertime Weekly Sessions

Evening Sessions at Bollington & Brereton. 7.00 pm onwards.

• Bollington: Mondays 20 April to 7 Sept 2009. (except for Bank Holiday Mondays). Location: On the canal aqueduct above Grimshaw Lane. OS map 118, ref SJ 931774. Post code: SK10 5JB.
• Brereton Country Park: Thursdays 16 April to 3 Sept 2009. (Remember you will need a permit to paddle at Brereton and to wear a helmet while on the water.). Location: Off the A54 between Holmes Chapel & Congleton. OS map 118, ref SJ 796653. Postcode: CW12 4SU.

Autumn / Winter Pool Sessions

Evening sessions at Bollington Leisure Cetre swimming pool.

Half hour sessions are available for club members at 8.00pm and 8.30 pm. A kayak and paddle are supplied. Coaching is available if requested. See the relevant calendar entry for details.

Trips / Events

• Please ring the contact if you are interested, or would like further details. If you are unsure if the event is for you, ring anyway, and we’ll let you know.
• Please note that trips may be cancelled or changed depending on weather, water levels, and interest. If in doubt, please check with the contact.
• All paddlers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.
• Note that most paddling trips meet the “Journeying” required for 2* and 3* tests.

Racing Calendar:

Racing paddlers: please ensure you let Andrew know your intention to paddle in advance, for each race. This will help with the allocation of boats, and with arranging the race details.

The following are usually annual events:

• Easter. Devizes to Westminster. 125 miles. Several portages. Over 4 days or non-stop. See the DW website.
• June. Conwy Ascent. See the Conwy Ascent website. 9 miles up river with tide. Race or tour.
• June. Cheshire Ring Race. 96 Miles. Several portages. All the way or relay. See the Cheshire Ring Website.
• September. Liffey Descent. Eire.
• October. Mersey Descent. 9 miles.

 MADCC Club Hare and Hounds:

Meet at the club store at Grimshaw Lane at 10.00. Entries: Adults £1.00. Juniors £0.50.
