Bernie Taupin - Tribe LP/CD

I wanna be, I wanna be like Billy Fury.....

How did I miss this one for so long? Once I'd heard it, I couldn't stop singing for hours.

I noticed American bidders on eBay paying extraordinary prices for the deleted CD version of a 1987 LP, on which Bernie, backed by an remarkable line-up, sings nine songs that he co-wrote with Martin Page.

One of the songs is called simply Billy Fury, so I kept bidding for the CDs - and I kept getting left way behind.

Finally, a sealed LP cropped up...and I got it.

The song is a real rocker, and it's a pleasure to add it to the site.

Among the backing singers, incidentally, is Elton John.
