Barry Jackson has worked continuously in the field of Roofing and Cladding since 1968.
He received his initial training with Robertson UK Limited during a 7 year period from 1968. During this time he was trained in Estimating, Drawing Office, Technical Support and was appointed as a Technical Representative initially for UK sales and then moved to Export sales.
During his time in the industry he had been involved in all aspects and has directly managed Estimating Departments, Drawing Offices, Technical Departments and has wide site experience.
He was Technical Director of Hermcrest Plc and worked for them for 14 years in various roles.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Roofing and is an active participant in the Institute, having completed NVQ Assessor Training.
He was the Chairman of the Specification sub committee of the Partnership in Technology / B.R.E. Zelro scheme and is now a member of a BRE Certification Technical Panel.
He is a Roofing and Cladding Consultant to Developers, Surveyors and Architectural Practices.
Barry Jackson Associates was formed in 1993, operating since then as an independent Roofing, Cladding and Curtain Wall Consultant,
He has studied Roofing and Cladding Techniques in the UK., Holland, Sweden, Finland, Germany and France.
He has been involved in the successful testing of Cladding Firewalls, structural tests and curtain walling test programmes.
He worked Closely with the late Professor Alex Hardy, Professor of Building Science at Newcastle University, in the field of condensation in industrial roofs.
Additionally, he has a useful period of 10 years in the field of low rise curtain walling and was a member of the Standards Committee for Bath University's Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (C.W.C.T.) Curtain Walling - A Standard and Guide to Good Practice
