Presentation and Research

Forget fiction, the most compelling stories often come from life. If you're after telling it how it is, then these programmes will put you in front of camera, and fill in the background.

So You Want To: Present - Bring your enthusiasm and leave with a showreel. This two day introduction covers the basics of presentation, from interviewing techniques to how to read an autocue.
17 May 1999 (4 weeks, 1 evening per week), £300

Research For Documentary - Everyone sees research as "the way in", but it's also a rewarding job in its own right - coming up with angles that turn a good idea into a great programme. In five days over three weeks you'll research your own programme proposal.
19-22 April 1999, Full Rate - £475 / Tax Relief - £366

Multi Skilling for Broadcast Television - These days in broadcasting you're expected to know everything, so here's where to learn it. In three intensive days work you'll research, write, direct and produce a short magazine feature, directing a two person crew and editor. (Developed in line with NVQ Broadcast Journalism Level 4).
19-21 April 1999, Full Rate - £1180 / Freelance - £436 / Tax Relief - £633
