Big Fat River

standing next to you is like standing in refreshing rain
And getting wet is like having it all washed away
And your love is flowing pouring down into a flood
And the flood is flowing all around
Like a big fat river of love

All i want
Is to fall
Deeper than
I thought I could
Into the river
Of your love
To sink or swim
It doesn't matter what

The sun rises in the east every day
A miracle but so often man looks the other way
The gift of life that i see everywhere i look
Shows your love is flowing all around
Like a big fat river in flood

Paranoid

Big flash, thought I saw a flash gun
Not that I'm paranoid
Just i know that you've been following me
I know you know
Everything about my soul
Theres nowhere that I can go
Where you wont find me
You must have eyes in the back of your head
But I know that without you I would be dead
You make me paranoid

You've got a hold on my life
Take me to a place
I never thought that I'd be
You've got a hold on my life
I've never been so free

Let down you wanted me to turn round
I tried to blank it out
But I know that you've been following me
I went so low
I could never let you know
Everything about my soul
But still you found me
You must have me on your hit list
Whatever I do I can't get away from you
No matter how I twist
Should I be paranoid?

POEMS Apart from the music and drama, the goldsmiths event includes poetry. Now if your like me poetry may remind you of the school-type stuff you hated but some of the words include in the event really do hit home.

We're currently putting a few of them together into a booklet that you'll be able to get via the Stuff page. Until then here's taster.

Millenium Man

There's a man on the scene in Millennium 3
who lives like the breeze; wherever it goes
the movement shows in the grass and trees.
He's blowing eyes open to the incoming kingdom:
Jesus, alive in Century 21.

The refuge of the storm tossed and the desperate.
For the empty, the alkie, the crackhead, the junkie
he's the one who rips the monkey off their backs.
To the all alone he's someone at the end of the phone.
The everlasting rock, he's the antidote to future shock.

Friend of the homeless and the helpless,
the original freedom fighter and the best.
Here to turn the tables for the have nots
and give the poor a VIP place.
You won't find him at the Savoy, sitting pretty;
he eats on the street and sleeps in cardboard city.
He bombshells the bigshots and lifts the downtrodden.
Jesus is hero of Century 21.

Jesus has done time in Brixton and Holloway,
he's had white man's justice, is no stranger to solitary.
When the lights go out and the doors slam,
he's the comfort of the banged up and brutalized man.
He's been on death row, he's drunk sorrow
tasted tears and drained the sting of sin.
Prisoners everywhere get free when they meet him.

The world will swear you're a no good loser.
Jesus says you're great, I can use you.
His name appears on TV and in the press,
he's the single biggest hit on the internet.
No right wing bias, no views that segregate
he loves the people people love to hate
and they follow JESUS, the ONE, alive with energy
who came to burn and save and break up hard reality.

And all of us can live his fiery dream
and be the members of the winning team
of the brightest, humblest star in the Universe.
No digital camera could capture the loveliness
of the King who kisses the cripple on the lips
and says I love you, stand up, live!

He's already the man of the new millennium:
Jesus is Lord of Century 21.
