This bug comprises of uneven split rings, beads in place of picots & beads on core thread with graduated picots
Two different joins are used & picots are measured with a gauge

2 colours on 2 shuttles
11 beads (2 red for eyes & 9 blue for body)
Picot gauge (at least 5 cm used upright) for antennae & a 2 cm for legs

Load all beads on Sh#1 (eyes to be used first) & wind 1.1/2 yards on Sh#2

Head (2 beads on hand)
R1: 9 B 1 ----- (5cm) 2 ----- (5cm) 1 B 5 vsp 2 partially close
Tuck Sh#2 tail inside ring now clr

Body
SR2: 2 + (vsp R1) 4 B 4 // 3 --- 2 --- 2 --- 3 vsp 2 clr DNRW
SR’s 3 to 5: 4 B 4 // 2 + (vsp last R) 3 --- 2 --- 3 vsp 2 clr DNRW
SR6: 3 B 3 vsp 2 // 2 + (vsp last R) 3 --- 2 --- 2 --- 3 clr
SR7: 2 + (last R) 3 B 3 // 8 clr RW


Tail beads are taken from core thread
  Ch: 5 <B-> 2 <B--> 2 <B---> 2 tension, lock & cut ends

Finishing
Glue at base of two long picots & allow to dry
Cut inside of each picot on head for antennae leaving very short stubs for mandibles
Knot antennae & trim
Cut centre of each picot for legs & trim even…
