The critter’s body ring is unusual in that it’s made entirely from unflipped stitches (like the 2nd side of a split ring) with rings thrown off for the eyes that carry beads on the core thread.  Two types of joins are used

Shuttle only loaded with 2 medium sized seed beads for eyes
1” picot gauge used vertically

Body part 1 Start with short tail & do not flip stitches
R: 3 vsp 3 leave RW

Right eye reverse order of ds (2,1)
RoSR: 3 + (vsp SR) 9 <DB> 9 vsp 3 clr RW

Body part 2 do not flip stitches continue with 3 + (last R) 8 --- 1 --- 1 --- 1 --- 18 --- 1 --- 1 --- 1 --- 8 vsp 2 leave RW

Left eye reverse order of ds (2,1)
RoSR: 3 + (vsp SR) 9 <DB> 9 vsp 3 clr RW

Body Part 3 do not flip stitches Continue with 3 + vsp (last R) 3 clr with the tail left at start NOT the shuttle thread.  Cut shuttle thread to 1” tail

Finishing Put a blob of glue at the back of the work, between eyes where threads exit the ring.  Allow to dry Cut the shuttle thread not the starting tail (or the ring will open) Also dab glue at the base of each long picot & allow to dry.   Cut these close to ring at one side of each picot (see sketch) Make an overhand knot at knee level for each leg.  Trim legs even Legs require stiffening to fix in place
