Eagle Heights
At last, I've got round to waffling a bit about
Eagle
Heights. Located in Lullingstone Lane, Eynsford, Kent, (Cross
the ford, follow the stream, pass under the viaduct and the sign is on
the right hand side). Eagle Heights
is only approximately 30 minutes drive from London (the South East bit
of London anyway!). Situated at the top of, and one end of a beautiful
valley, it is a beautiful site to enjoy the flying displays. The
PiC, (Person in Charge!), Alan has a wonderful sense of humour and cares
deeply for his charges. He's got a good team together to run the
place, and each time I've been, there's at least 6 very polite youngsters
helping to clean the mews or the snake boxes or most of the 1001 other
things that always need doing ;-)

This is the small birds mews, almost the first
thing you see when you enter from the gift shop. The birds range
from Falcons, Hobbies, Merlins and Miscellaneous owls. Very beautiful
but can be a little 'noisy' |
Alan & Bashful Barn Owl
 |
After giving a magnificent flying display,
this owl came over all shy when Alan started praising him for a good job
well done... |
The Andean Condor that impressed another
Alan last year!!!
 |
This is the Andean Condor that Alan, an American
pal who visited us in 1999, was so impressed with after it flew several
feet above his head... With a 9 - 10 foot wingspan, everyone was
impressed!!!! |
Jim at home with a new pet!!!
 |
The tall chap with the snake is Jim, who came
to visit with his wonderful wife Tammy, (right of picture wearing glasses),
earlier this year from the USA. They have several Ball Pythons at
home so they were right at home. In fact, the Boa seemed rather disappointed
when Jim had to give it back!!! |
I told ya! I'm da BOSS around here!!!
 |
This owl had other things
on it's mind, rather than flying for common ol' visitors!!! It was
Spring after all.... |
Lurrrve is in the Air!!!
 |
This is what the owl was interested in all the
time. A female is in the cage under him. Once he landed, he
wouldn't budge for anything. Poor Alan, at great risk to life and
limb, had to retrieve him - much to the male owl's disgust!!! |
