ANSWER: Only turn Absolute Value to On if you are using a
special coil like Big Foot to increase the pick up area around the coil. If you are using this coil you would need to turn Absolute Value On when designing or installing a program, or when you are
fitting the head to your favorite Program. Other wise, leave it Off. This facility works the same in the Eagle Spectrum, and the XLT, detectors. This facility is not on the DFX.
QUESTION: When do I use Modulation On?
ANSWER: You set Modulation On when designing or installing a program. Modulation On
gives a softer quieter Audio Tone for deeper or smaller targets than it does for shallow close to the surface targets.
If you have set the Target Volume and Threshold Tone (Audio Frequency) correct for your hearing, and own a good pair of earphones, you should not lose any deep or small targets. Off it gives a strong Audio Tone whatever the depth of the target. Turn Off if you are having difficulty hearing the quieter signals from the small and deep targets. When On it also has a stabilising effect so, before turning Off, make sure that the Threshold Tone is steady. This facility works the same in the Eagle Spectrum, XLT, and DFX Detectors.
