M.Y.Ashcroft's "The records of a manor: The population of Stainton (by Downholme) in the middle of the 17th century" summarises the "manor court rolls" of Stainton for 1653 to 1672. Five Ellerton names - including a Bartholemew - were included, and probably relate to the subject of this page and his family. For more details click here.
