The 1901 Census recorded Edward, aged 9, living at 16 Oakdake Road, Waterloo, Lancs.

When his younger brother John reached the age of 21 (in 1916?), Edward and his siblings inherited the estate and possessions left under the provisions of their father's 1910 Will.

His Admons show "Edward Ellerton of 25 Willoughby Road, Waterloo, Lancs. died 27/4/1929 at Liverpool. Admons Liverpool on 13th August to Florence Ellerton widow. Effects £84."
