Bertram's birth certificate show the family living at 23 Church Street,
Middlesbrough, and at the time of the 1901
he was still there with his parents and siblings
(and 4 boarders, including 3 "professional footballers" from
Scotland).
The National Archives shows that he won a WW1 campaign
medal whilst a Sapper in the Royal Engineers (regiment no.36123).
His wife Annie was born on 3/6/1891 at Stockton-on-Tees, and died on 27/9/1980
at Middlesbrough General Hospital.
