Barbara ELLERTON

• Born - 1737? at Barden Dykes or Skelton Cote Farm, Bellerby.
• Baptised - 13th February 1737 (or 1738), per Downholme PR.
• Died - pre October 1772 (per her father's will).
• Parents - John Ellerton (1694-1774) and Elizabeth Carter.
• Married - Matthew Bearpark [b.1734, Wensley; "of Under Sear, Yeoman" per 1857 letter - see below] on 15th February 1762, at Spennithorne, Yorkshire.
• Children - Matthew, Christopher, Cicely, Betty, John (per will and 1857 letter - see below).
• Occupation -

According to a letter written by Barbara's nephew Edward in 1857 "she died there [Under Sear] nearly 85 years ago, leaving 3 sons and 2 daughters, all of whom arrived at advanced ages. In fact there is now a son Christopher upwards of 90 still living upon his own property".

Barbara's children were left money in her father's will of 1772, by which time she had already died.
