M.J.Ashcroft's "The records of a manor: The population of Stainton (by Downholme) in the middle of the 17th century" summarises the "manor court rolls" of Stainton for 1653 to 1672. Five Ellerton names were included, as well as two Stevenson's - Ann and Henry - possibly relations of the William Stevenson who married Alice Ellerton. For more details of the book click here.
