Christopher was the
grandchild of Christopher (1725-1770?) and
Elizabeth "of Druggan Hill". The Patrick Brompton PR's record the baptism of "Christopher, son of
Christopher [b.1759] and Barbara Ellerton of Scotton" in 1810.
Barbara's maiden name was Tennant, and several descendants in this tree were
given the second name of Tennant. Note: the Hauxwell PR's
show a "Christopher, son of Joseph & Elizabeth, Barden Dykes" Baptised on
17/6/1810 - see the "Matthew 1744" tree.
The Hauxwell & Patrick Brompton PR's record the marriage of Christopher to "Mary Smith" and baptisms of 6 of their children, while the Hipswell PR's shown the baptisms of their other 5 children. However the Census sheets for 1851, 1861 and 1871 all list his wife as "Margaret".
