The "Francis 1712" Tree The "Francis 1712" Tree This is the line of John Ellerton (born in England, but now living in Sydney, NSW), and notable for the number of males named Francis or Frank. The baptism entry in the Bedale BT's for 1712 shows "Francis son of Edward Elerton of Aiscough" [sic: should be Ellerton of Aiskew].
The earliest members of the line shown below were born in North Yorkshire (Bedale, Burneston, and Kirklington), but several children of Francis (1784-1863) moved to Tiverton, Devon, circa 1830. As reported in The Times, John Francis Ellerton (1840-1927) was the Mayor of Tiverton in 1889 and 1890.
