1858 - Elizabeth Ellerton of Constable Burton, spinster died 5/8/1849 at Constable Burton. Admons granted on 10th December to Christopher Ellerton of Scotton, farmer/father of deceased. Effects <£20 ["increased to £50" per original index] [see the "Christopher 1725" tree]

1858 - Mary Ellerton of Scotton, spinster died 24/10/1853 at Scotton. Admons granted on 10th December to Christopher Ellerton of Scotton, farmer/father of deceased. Effects <£20 ["increased to £50" per original index] [see the "Christopher 1725" tree]

1863 - Edward Ellerton of Ulverston, Lancaster died 27/12/1862 [aged 74]. Admons granted on 28th January - Will with two codicils. Effects <£450.

1863 - Thomas Nicholson Ellerton of Shrewsbury, Salop. died --- [1858/Q4 per GRO] Admons granted on 18th April to Ellen Ellerton, widow. Effects <£50.

1865 - Joseph Ellerton of Wakefield, sharebroker died 8/6/1865 [aged 55?]. Will proved on 21st June by Isabella Ellerton the relict, the sole Executrix. Effects <£1,000.

1865 - The Right Honourable Henrietta Barbara Lodge-Ellerton, commonly called Lady Harriet Barbara Ellerton, (wife of John Lodge-Ellerton [see 1873 Admons]), of 6 Connaught Place, Hyde Park, Middlesex. Died 27/7/1864. Admons 7th March. Effects <£10,000. [Note: "Harriet" was first married to Rev. Frederick Manners-Sutton, and secondly in 1837 to JLE].

1866 - George Ellerton of The Gardens, Ulverston, Lancaster, died 21(24?)/3/1844. Will proved on 19th June by Rev. John Ellerton [the famous hymn-writer] of Crewe Green, Chester, son and the surviving executor. Effects <£7,000  [see the "George 1714 tree"]

1866 - Jemima Frances Ellerton [née Brown] of Crewe Green, Chester, died 10/3/1866 [aged 71]. Admons granted on 30th June to Rev. John Ellerton [the famous hymn-writer], son and only next of kin. Effects <£200 [see the "George 1714 tree"]

1867 - Mary Ellerton, formerly of Newton House Lodge, but late of The Old Hall, Kirklington. Spinster, [born 29/7/1795, Newton] died 15/4/1867 [aged 74 per GRO Index]. Will proved on 14th June to Mary Ann Ellerton and Eliza Ellerton, both of The Old Hall, spinsters, "the nieces two of the Residuary Legatees named in the said Will". Effects <£300  [see the "Francis 1712 tree"]

1868 - Edward Ellerton of Garforth, Yks, died 3/2/1868 [aged 88]. Will proved on 26th February at Wakefield by Rev. William Henry Teale, of The Rectory, Devizes, Wilts. Effects <£30,000.

1868 - John Ellerton of Aberford, Yks. Surgeon, died 22/11/1868 [aged 68 - see MI list for Aberford]. Will proved on 31st December at Wakefield by Jane Frances Ellerton the widow [see 1892 Probate], Robert Daniel Ryder, and William Paver. Effects <£18,000, resworn in November 1869 at <£20,000.

1869 - Catharine Ellerton formerly of Great Malvern, Worcester, but late of Painswick, Gloucester. Spinster, died 29/4/1869 [aged 51]. Will proved on 27th May by Richard Ellerton [see 1887 Probate] of Plas-yn-Vivod, Llangollen, Denbigh - brother and sole executor. Effects <£7,000 [see the "Richard 1678 tree"]

1870 - Francis Ellerton of Topper Bank, Lower Booths, Lancaster. Labourer, died 30/3/1870 [aged 54]. Will proved on 5th May by William Wilkinson, sole Executor. Effects <£450.

1871 - Edward Ellerton of Tunstall, Catterick. Gentleman, died 16/10/1870 [aged 85 - see MI list for Catterick]. Will proved on 21st April by William Ellerton of 13 Addle Street, Wood Street, City of London - merchant, son, and one of the Executors. Effects <£600. [Click here for a transcription of his Will]

1873 [see also 1880 entry] - John Lodge-Ellerton of Connaught Place, Hyde Park, Middlesex. Widower, died 3/1/1873 [aged 68]. Admons granted on 13th September to Adam Lodge [see 1880 Probate] of 5 Brick Court Temple, Middlesex - barrister-at-law, brother, and only next of kin. Effects <£20,000.

1873 - Richard Ellerton of Ellerton Lodge, Downholme, died 11/9/1873 [aged 60 - see MI list for Downholme]. Will proved on 24th October by Daniel Fossick Alderson (nephew), John Teale of Leyburn (solicitor), and Thomas Thompson of Richmond (chemist). Effects <£3,000  [see the "Richard 1678 tree"]

1875 - George Ellerton of Higher Cambridge Street, Chorlton-upon-Medlock, Lancaster. Builder, died 17/1/1874 [aged 50] at Macclesfield, Chester. Admons granted on 16th April at Manchester to Eliza Ellerton of Crumpsall Workhouse, near Manchester, widow. Effects <£100.

1875 - John Ellerton of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford. Feltmaker, died 26/10/1875 [aged 70]. Will proved at Lichfield on 28th December by Levi Ellerton of Leek, Stafford (tailor), and William Ellerton of Congleton, Chester (grocer). Effects <£100. [see the "John 1772 (Staffs) tree"]

1875 - Margaret Rebecca Ellerton of 1 Aldridge Road Villas, Westbourne Park, Middx. Widow, died at Dover, Kent on 28/9/1875 [aged 76]. Will proved on 29th October by Margaret Catherine Ellerton of 1 Aldridge Road (spinster and daughter) and William Essex. Effects <£800.

1876 - Margaret Ellerton of Middlesbrough, NRY. Widow, died 7/9/1876 [aged 58 - see MI list for Catterick] at Harley Hill Farm, near Richmond. Admons granted on 3rd October to John Ellerton of 7 Harris Street, Middlesbrough - iron manufacturers clerk, son, and one of the next of kin. Effects <£70.

1876 - Mary Ellerton of Mear Lane, Caverswall, Stafford. Widow, died 23/12/1875. Will proved on 8th February by John Ellerton (farmer and son) and Harriet Ellerton (spinster and daughter), both of Mear Lane. Effects <£300.

1877 - Aquila Ellerton of The "Cattle Market" Hotel, Burnley, Lancaster. Innkeeper, died 3/9/1877 [no trace on GRO Index]. Will proved on 7th November by Elizabeth Ellerton of Doncaster, widow the Relict. Effects <£450.

1879 - Betty Ellerton of Harrop Lane, Wilsden, Bradford. Spinster, died 29/3/1879 [aged 66]. Admons granted on 3rd July to Christopher Ellerton of Thornton, Bradford - delver, brother, and one of the next of kin. Personal Estate <£300.

1880 - Abel Ellerton of Wharf Street, Burslem, Stafford. Potter, died 22/9/1874 [aged 47]. Will proved on 2nd January by Thelia Ellerton (widow), George Ellerton and Joseph Ellerton (potters/sons). Personal Estate <£100.

1880 - Adam Lodge-Ellerton of 8 Gilston Road, West Brompton, Middx. died 4/5/1879. Will proved on 18th February by Rev. William Manners Sutton and Tierney Clark Matthews. Personal Estate <£12,000. [see 1873 and 1880 Admon entries for brother John]

1880 [see also 1873 entry] - John Lodge-Ellerton of 6 Connaught Place, Hyde Park, Middx. died 31//1873 [aged 68], left unadministered by Adam Lodge-Ellerton, brother and only next-of-kin [see above entry]. Admons granted on 9th April to Rev. William Manners Sutton and Tierney Clark Matthews, the acting Executors of the Will of Adam Lodge-Ellerton. Personal Estate <£5,000.

1880 - William Ellerton of 14 Queens Road, Browns Wood Park, Middx. and of 37 Aldermanbury, City of London. Hosiery manufacturer, died 6/5/1880 [aged 64]. Will proved on 15th June by Elizabeth Jane Ellerton, widow [see 1891 below]. Personal Estate <£3,000.

1881 - George Ellerton of Kippax, surgeon, died 24/8/1881 [aged 74]. Will proved on 10th September by John Ellerton Pawson of Wellington, Somerset (gentleman) and George Victor Ellerton (stock and share broker) - nephews. Personal Estate £3,116.

1881 - Thomas Kilvington Ellerton of North Cowton, NRY. Butcher, died 16/10/1881 [aged 24 -see MI list for South Cowton]. Admons granted on 28th December to Alice Ellerton, widow. Personal Estate £145 [see the "Matthew 1744" tree]

1881 - William Ellerton of Anchor Road, Longton, Stafford. Blacksmith, died 21/1/1881 [aged 52]. Admons granted on 16th February to Jane Ellerton, widow. Personal Estate <£100.

1882 - Christopher Ellerton of Scotton, Yks. Farmer, died 23/1/1882 [aged 71]. Will proved on 15th April by George Ellerton of Hunton, Yks, and Thomas Ellerton of Constable Burton - farmers and sons. Personal Estate £724 [see the "Christopher 1810" tree]

1884 - Ellen Pembrey Ellerton of Tattenhall, Chester. Widow [husband Frederick Ellerton], died 13/6/1884 [aged 58]. Will proved on 30th July by Ellen Elizabeth Ellerton and Mary Gertrude Ellerton - both of Tattenhall, spinsters, and daughters. Personal Estate £572.

1887 - Elizabeth Ellerton of Hill Street, Upper Clapton, Middx. Spinster, died 14/8/1887 [aged 72]. Will proved on 8th September by Henry Henderson, the surviving Executor. Personal Estate £297.

1887 - Elizabeth Ellerton of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Widow, died 12/12/1887 [aged 76]. Will proved on 31st December by George Richardson and Mary Ann Wiggins (spinster/niece). Personal Estate £619[?]

1887 - Frances Margaret Ellerton of 22 Westmoreland Street, Durham. Spinster, died 30/5/1887 [aged 25]. Admons granted on 30th July to Jane Ann Naisbitt, sister and only next-of-kin. Personal Estate £34[?]

1887 - Isabel Ellerton [nee Keen] of Tiverton, Devon, died 6/3/1887 [aged 47]. Will proved on 5th May by John Francis Ellerton (husband/grocer) and Ebenezer Musgrave Winton (uncle/ironmonger). Personal Estate £---  [see the "Francis 1712 tree"]

1887 - Joseph Ellerton of Offley Hay, Eccleshall, Stafford. Yeoman, died 16/12/1886 [aged 86]. Will proved on 5th February by John Taylor, farmer. Personal Estate £30.

1887 - Richard Ellerton formerly of Plas-yn-Vivod, Llangollen, Denbigh but late of 55 Longridge Road, South Kensington, Middx. Gentleman, died 21/6/1887 [aged 72?] in Southampton. Will proved on 28th July by widow Jane Walker Ellerton [see 1890 Probate]. Personal Estate of £54,589 in the U.K. [see the "Richard 1678 tree"]

1888 - John Ellerton of Swanbach, Audlem, Chester. Grocer/blacksmith, died 21/4/1888 [aged 67]. Admons granted on 13th September to widow Sarah Ellerton. Personal Estate £70.

1888 - Joseph Ellerton of 13 Sutherland Avenue, St.Peter's Park, Harrow Road, Middx., died 25/4/1888 [aged 76]. Will proved on 20th August by John Edward Ellerton of Aberford, near Leeds, M.D. and brother of one of the executors. Personal Estate £3,542.

1889 - Mary Ellerton [nee Hart] of Tiverton, Devon, widow, died 13/12/1888 [aged 63]. Will proved on 1st February by John Francis Ellerton (gentleman) [son of deceased], and Florence Ellerton (wife of JFE and niece of the deceased) - both of Tiverton. 1890 - Janet Walker Ellerton of Woodlands, Mount Harry Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. Widow [see 1887 Probate of husband Richard], died 23/1/1890 [aged 65]. Will proved on 19th February by Conrad Wilkinson. Personal Estate £64,470  [see the "Richard 1678 tree"]

1891 - Elizabeth Jane Ellerton of 32 Sunnyside Road, Ealing, Middx. Widow [of William - see 1881 above], died 3/2/1891 [aged 73]. Admons granted on 11th March to Charlotte Mary Taylor [nee Kitching], sister and one of next-of-kin. Personal Estate £439.

1891 - Jane Ellerton of 53 Waterloo Road, Burslem, Stafford. Spinster, died 28/1/1891 [aged 56?]. Admons granted on 14th February to Clara Frank, sister and only next-of-kin. Personal Estate £198.

1892 - Jane Frances Ellerton of Aberford, widow [see 1868 Probate of husband John], died 25/2/1892 [aged 84 - see MI list for Aberford]. Probate on 4th April to Robert Daniel Ryder, and George Victor Ellerton (sharebroker). Effects £12,597 - resworn in September 1892 at £12,819.

1892 - Mary Ellen Ellerton of Leek, Staffs, died 5/7/1892 [aged 51]. Probate on 17th October to husband Levi Ellerton (retired tailor), George Lowndes (farmer), and John Lowndes the younger (farmer). Effects £2,829. [see the "John 1772 (Staffs) tree"]

1893 - Edward Ellerton of 41 Marmion Road, Lavender Hill, Surrey. Gentleman, died 8/4/1893 [aged 77]. Probate on 4th May to John Ellerton Pawson (gentleman) and Montague Pawson (chartered accountant). Effects £9,475 - resworn in November 1894 at £11,238.

1893 - George Ellerton of Beverley, Yorkshire. Wheelwright, died 4/1/1893 [aged 50 - see MI list for Beverley]. Probate on 27th January to Emma Ellerton, widow. Effects £95.

1893 - Isabella Ellerton of 16 St. John's Place, North Wakefield. Widow [husband Joseph - see 1865 will], died 22/2/1893 [aged 80]. Probate on 28th March to George Victor Ellerton (sharebroker [see 1906 Probate]) and John Ellerton (M.D.). Effects £3,083. [Click here for a transcription of her Will]

1893 - Rev. John Ellerton [the famous hymnwriter - see the "George 1714 tree"] of Rosemont, Torquay, Devon. Clerk, died 15/6/1893 [aged 66; see 1896 Probate of wife Charlotte]. Probate on 23rd November to Rev. Herbert Harvey and Rev. Francis George Ellerton (both clerks). Effects £573.

1893 - John Edward Ellerton of Aberford, Yks. Surgeon, died 30/5/1893 [aged 69]. Probate on 3rd July to Elizabeth Ellerton (widow), David Bartle and John Clapham Bartle (auctioneers and valuers). Effects £11,444.

1894 - Frederick John Ellerton of Kirklington, Yks. Farmer, died 25/8/1873 [aged 58]. Admons on 31st October to widow Sarah Ellerton [nee Nicholson]. Effects £20.  [see the "Francis 1712 tree"]

1895 - James Ellerton of Enderley Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs. Gentleman, died 5/12/1894 [aged 72]. Probate on 2nd February to James Frederick Ellerton (inspector of schools - see 1896 probate), Alfred Ellerton (commission agent) and Thomas Isaac Nicklin (schoolmaster). Effects £239.

1896 - Charlotte Alicia Ellerton of Rosemont, Torquay. Widow [see 1893 Probate of husband John - the famous hymnwriter. See the "George 1714 tree"], died 18/3/1896 [aged 63]. Probate on 6th May to Rev. Francis George Ellerton and Rev. Arthur John Bicknell Ellerton (both clerks). Effects £6,234 - resworn in January 1897 at £566 [!].

1896 - James Frederick Ellerton of Roselyn, Fairfield Road, Woodford Green, Essex. Gentleman, died 28/2/1896 [aged 42]. Probate on 20th March to Mary Ellerton, widow. Effects £1,103.

1897 - Eleanor Anne Ellerton of Bunbury, Cheshire. Spinster, died 8/9/1897 [aged 46]. Probate on 1st December to John Edward Kermode and John Edwin Kermode (farmers). Effects £80.

1898 - Emma Ellerton of Wakefield. Widow, died 25/9/1868 [aged 52]. Admons on 14th February to Clara Flack. Effects £191.

1898 - Rev. George Mouat Keith Ellerton of 4 Lexden Gardens, Shrewsbury. Clerk, died 30/9/1898 [aged 81]. Probate on 14th November to Mouat Keith Ellerton (architect [son]) and Dora Grace Ellerton (spinster [daughter]). Effects £96.

1898 - James Ellerton of 90 Moncrieff Street, Peckham, Surrey, died 20/4/1898 [aged 72]. Probate on 18th May to Thomas Harrison (builder) and Thomas Pritchard (french polisher). Effects £4,666. [see wife Harriet's Probate of 1899]

1898 - Robert Ellerton of Brompton-on-Swale, Yks., died 27/7/1897 [aged 86]. Probate on 9th May to William Ellerton (railway porter), Mary Ann Layfield, and John Ellerton (joiner). Effects £4.  [See the "Matthew 1744" tree]

1899 - Harriet Ellerton of 90 Montcrieff Street, Peckham, Surrey. Widow [see husband James' Probate of 1898], died 11/9/1899 [aged 78]. Probate on 13th October to Thomas Harrison, builder. Effects £511.

1899 - James Ellerton of 52a Durham Road, Finsbury Park, Middx., died 10/10/1899 [aged 59]. Probate on 31st October to William Arthur Atkins, licensed victualler. Effects £369 - resworn in November 1899 at £764.
