Badger/Beavers Team

Bolton Badgers 0 vs. Alderley Edge 2
Bolton were under pressure from start to finish by a very talented Alderley team. Scott Evans , Luke Fiddler and David Flanagan fought hard in midfield to stem the tide But it was MOM Robert Allen in goal who produced a string of breathtaking saves to keep the scores level until late in the first half, when Alderley took a deserved lead.
The second half saw a few counter attacks from Bolton with Luke Fiddler going close with a fine strike but in general a similar pattern to the first developed. Alderley passed the ball around creating many shooting opportunities only to be denied by Robert and his young defence. Bolton have a talented side and dug in to keep the score at 1-0. the very last attack by Alderley brought the score 2-0. This was a good performance by a young Bolton who never stopped working for each other.
Robert Allen was the outstanding player on both sides and we hope his form will see him selected for NW u15 regional side to be play at Cannock later this month.

Bolton Badger 2 vs. Brooklands 1
A great result against one of the big clubs in the north.
Bolton's young side took the game to Brooklands from the start and had the early fortune when Adam Wilmington's shot took a looping deflection to clear the keeper and put Bolton in front.
Brooklands only came into the game as their adults took more active roles. Luke Fiddler and David Flanagan created problems for the home side and MoM Scott Evans worked tirelessly to break down any Brooklands attacks and feed his midfield partners. A flowing move involving 6 players was finished by Richard Coles with a sweet strike on the turn to make it 2 - 0 at half time.
Brooklands seem to acquire some new players for the second half and started to press for goals . After a couple of fine saves by Lee Smethurst, Bolton's defence was breeched. A fine rear guard performance from Richard and Dominic Bergan, Andrew Bull and Viren Patel helped see Bolton home for a fine win.

Bolton Beavers 8 vs. Alderley Edge 1
Bolton dominated the game from start to finish. Only a fine display by Alderleys keeper kept the score in single figures. David Flanagan led the scoring with a hat trick ( the best of which was a strike from the edge of the d which clipped the keepers shoulder on its way into the roof of the net), Adam Wilmington with a couple, Liam Dudley scored a couple ( his second fine run from sweet 40 yd pass by David Flanagan) and Richard Coles completed the scoring. Alderley scored one consolation goal in a rare foray
up the park. The final score 8-1 reflected Bolton's superiority in all departments.
December 7th
Bolton Beavers 2 vs. Preston Beavers 2
This was a superb team performance to claim a good draw against a strong beavers side. The game started with Preston creating various changes with eventually leading to a goal from a crowd of players but the goal being credited to Preston's Ben Heywood.
The game started to flow better and Bolton started using their creative wing play by using Richard Coles and Liam Dudley on the right wing to create some good changes for Adam Wilmington but no luck with the finishing.
Eventually this pressure lead to a penalty corner from which man of the match David Flanagan coolly slotted home the equaliser.
The last end of the first half was end-to-end stuff but neither team could find the goal. Even the introduction of Luke van Bentum as substitute for his first beaver's game couldn't add another goal The second half started well and Bolton should have scored straight from the start but good goalkeeping thwarted both Phil and Peter from scoring. The next short corner saw a shot from David rebounding to Andy Bull who finished sweetly to take Bolton into the lead.
Bolton then had some stout defending to do and kept the Preston attack at bay even Lee made an outstanding save by pushing the ball onto the post.
But at the end Preston found the equaliser for Tom Gallagher to score to send the game into a draw and finish a good contested game appreciated by a good following crowd.
February 15th
Bolton played well against a West Derby side that fielded four adults defenders.
All the Bolton goals were scored by David Flanagan and the team played well with Lee Smethurst performing well in goal.
Bolton were unfortunate not to come away with a draw when close to the end of the match the ball hit the post and went in off the heel of Lee's right kicker.
