FIRE SAFETY SEMINAR

Tuesday 25th March 2003, TA - Belle Vue Barracks, Drill Parade,

Manningham, Bradford 9.30am - noon

The Bradford OHSF and the Bradford Fire Prevention Group are jointly organising the Fire Safety Seminar. The event will include the support and expertise of the West Yorkshire Fire Service, West Yorkshire Police and Chubb. The seminar will provide an excellent training opportunity for local businesses, voluntary sector organisations, trade union safety representativesand community organisations. Places are restricted and early booking is strongly reco mmended

The Seminar will start with a ‘red-hot’ practical demonstration by the West Yorkshire Fire Brigade and then delegates will attend three workshops (40 minutes each):

Workshop 1:   How to carry out a fire risk assessment – Bradford Fire Prevention Group

Workshop 2:   Fire security and arson – West Yorkshire Fire Service & West Yorkshire Police

Workshop 3:   Use of fire extinguishers – practical - Chubb  

Delegate Fee  £10 (£5 voluntary groups and free for non-funded community groups)

 Risk mapping and body mapping (Practical) – Introducing simple practical tools that involve the whole workforce in unearthing the health hazards in your workplace

 

Tackling work-related violence –Work related violence has a high cost for employees and the businesses they work for. Employees may suffer not only physical injuries, but also stress and anxiety. Worksop will examine practical solutions to the growing problem.

Taking the occupational health agenda forward - To discuss the possibility of inviting Bradford Vision to consider having ‘workers health and safety’ as a key cross partnership theme because it links the health, and the economic and regeneration agenda.
