PHILIPS 9" French 441 line TV

PHILIPS 9" French 441 line TV (1951)

The French 441 TV system originally started before the war as the 416 line system, it was transmitted from Paris. During the war the Germans converted the transmitter to the 441 line standard and used it for NAZI propaganda. After the war the transmitter was used for public television until 1955 when it caught fire. Only about 1000 sets were ever made.

This set will pick up 405, but without the sound.
