The following is intended to give helpful guidance. If you need further clarification please ask the Referee. In all cases the Refereeís decision will be final.

No technique should be performed in a reckless or excessively dangerous way.

No head shots, or strikes to the head of any kind. Punches and kicks to the body and legs are allowed, including while on the ground. Shin pads should be worn.

A 10 second pin is awarded an advantage point. You must then move to another hold.

Juniors are allowed arm and leg locks, and strangles. No pressure to be applied. An outright win (submission) will be awarded when the technique is judged to be successfully in place.

Seniors can apply pressure. The aim is to achieve a submission, where your opponent ëtaps outí and you win outright.

If there is no outright win, the winner will be decided by points. If there is no score or the points are tied, the decision will be made by who has had a greater number of successful strikes (punches, kicks to the thighs and body).
