has been the Roseland Observatory director since the 99
eclipse. He also lectures on Astronomy at Cornwall College, St Austell. For further

Membership
Membership is £10.00 per annum. However a Day Membership of
£2.00 is payable as an alternative. This covers the "Rolling
Course" option on the second Tuesday of each month. This course
brings participants up to date with the latest in the night sky and covers
in more depth a specific topic. It has a strongly practical and observing
bias. The Observatory is
not a Club but does offer a unique opportunity to learn about, and
contribute to, astronomy
from a secure and dark site.
We will need to know your name, address, phone number and email.
Cheques should be made out to Roseland Observatory and sent to the
Observatory address below.
Clubs in your area can be found on the Federation of Astronomical
Societies web site.
From the West: Take the A30 to Summercourt and then take the
A3058 to St Stephen . Go through the village and take a turning on the
right just after it, signposted St Stephen Coombe. Shortly after you take that
turning, there are 2 cottages on the left, and the entrance on your right into Court Farm.
From the East: Take the A38 to St Austell and then take the A3058
towards St Stephen. Just before St Stephen take a turning on your left
signposted St Stephen Coombe. Shortly after taking that turning, there are
2 cottages on the left, and the entrance to Court Farm on your right.
Please note: The Observatory's facilities,
which have been kindly provided by Simon Palmer, are located on a public
holiday camp site & working
farm. Only full members are allowed to use the observing areas and other
observatory facilities with prior agreed permission. Non members should only
enter the farm confines when there is an official meeting or event.
