4. The shower-cap can be fitted over the hood to prevent strong sunlight passing through the windscreen, ice forming on the windscreen in winter, or soiling to the hood if the car has to be parked under trees.

Some owners have found that using the shower-cap this way stops damage to the interior through water leaking at the junction of the window and windscreen.

Fit the shower-cap over the hood as described above in 1 & 2. To fix the rear of the cover over the hood, two bands are provided as extensions to the bungee elastic. The extension bands can be pulled over the end of the hood lip on each side.

The shower-cap can be handwashed and should not be placed in a tumbledryer.
Do not leave the shower-cap in the storage bag when damp for prolonged periods.

The elemental showercap is designed only as a temporary provision.

When the car is to be left exposed to variable weather conditions for any length of time, then the hood should always be fitted. However, to provide additional security, the two support stays which form part of the existing hood structure can be fixed before fitting the shower-cap. This will help prevent water forming over the cockpit.
