BROUGH FARMERS' MARKET

This page is updated about 2 weeks before the next market (but sometimes later), as soon as we are reasonably sure that the information will be accurate.

THE July MARKET

The next Farmers’ Market will be held on Saturday July 19th. It takes place in our usual venue of Brough Memorial Hall, from 9.30am to the regular closing time of 2.00pm.

BUS SERVICE

The free bus service from Kirkby Stephen continues to operate. Our service starts in Ravenstonedale, and has hail and ride stops en route and a timetabled stop in Kirkby Stephen. To fit with our regular hours, in the normal program there are four round trips for each month's market, the first three allow a full hour of buying time to return with the next round trip.  The last journey waits in Brough for 15 minutes to permit more hurried shopping in order to return on the same journey. Click here for the timetable. The service was set up with a grant from North Pennines LEADER + and DEFRA and another from the Cumbria Community Foundation, and its continuation for this year until September is assured thanks to an additional grant also from the Cumbria Community Foundation.

STALLS

We expect all our stalls to be present so that the essentials for life (and some luxuries) will continue to be available. These stalls will be selling their lamb, beef, pork, venison, cheese, bread, cakes, jams, fudges, and vegetables, all grown or made locally, with nearly everything you could want for the kitchen!.  This is just a flavour of what is available, it’s impossible to list every single item – you really need to come and see for yourself. Everyone has their own favourite purchase. We continue to offer the possibility of having some really fantastic food almost on your doorstep.

Remember, all our stalls (except the vegetable stall and plant stall) are indoors, under cover and thus independant of the weather
