I give you greetings.This evening my friends - when you celebrate the festival of Christmas - I would speak to you of the unity of mankind. The God Spirit who gave life to earth, life to man, life to all that exists upon this earth plane. Who gave you the ability to reach out towards the higher self, the part of you which is the God Spirit Itself. God did not limit His presence or the gift of life to any one creed or culture or nation, it is the birthright of all mankind. Each one of is spirit, each one of you is clothed in a physical body but within that body, the soul which is immortal is a part of the God Spirit and that part, that inner self, knows no difference of colour or creed or nationality. It is man that divided the nations not the Creator. At this time of Christmas many of you who do not follow the Christian ideals celebrate nevertheless.
Today the meaning of this celebration is very often lost in the tinsel and the glitter of a commercial Christmas. It is the celebration of the birth of one who came to this earth plane in order to bring a message of hope and of love to mankind. That love and that hope was not limited to the nation of Jews, for Jesus the man although born into that nation recognized within himself the wonders of being. That message which much of the western world accepts today was not given by Jesus alone but by all the great teachers that have come to the earth plane throughout the ages, the message of love, the message that love and love alone can be victorious over evil. Can heal the rift between the nations and make mankind become as one as the God Spirit intended. It matters not wherever you may be born, it matters not what your language may be or your culture or your belief . The Spirit of God is there for Christian, for Pagan, for Heathen or Atheist alike. Whether it is recognized or no, that love is ever present, for the God Spirit does not differentiate between those to whom It has given life. All are equal and all are deserving of love. You who have come to realize the continuity of life, who have come to understand that man is not material only, you have the opportunity to assist in bringing man to the realization of his oneness, of bringing to an end the strife, the intolerance. the fear, the hatred which at present is apparent.
We have told you for many many years, that out of the darkness which envelopes earth, light will come. That there will come a communion between the nations and that is at present beginning. There is a breaking of the shell of darkness, this darkness which has encompassed many of you, many of your nations for years and years past. The barriers are crumbling, the hand of friendship is being offered stretched forth, be sure that you are ready and able to grasp it. Lay aside the feelings of distrust for those who do not think or feel as you do. Reach out to them in love and in friendship and it will surprise you how great and how glad is the response.
No matter how poor, how uneducated, how unbelieving, how violent another may be, yet nevertheless each and every other being upon this earth plane belongs to the family of the God Spirit of which you each one are a part. You cannot ever separate yourselves from each other, you cannot lose responsibility for the welfare of another, you cannot turn aside saying, I know them not, for they are, a part of you as you are part of them. If man would come to this realization, knowing that he is indeed his brother's keeper, much of the dissension, much of the fear would disappear from this earth. The light of the God Spirit is for all mankind, the light which the Nazarene brought to the Jews, lit a candle to light each one of you upon your way.
It matters not that you do not follow the orthodox Christian doctrine, for that has became distorted through many many translations it has been made to fit what man and the priests would have, to suit your own lives, but the truth which the Nazarene brought to earth was a knowledge of the love of God and that is not confined to orthodoxy. He came a man among them to bring light and knowledge and hope. For no matter how black a situation in which you may find yourself, there is the hope always of improvement and you now today have more than a hope, you have a knowledge that life is eternal, that it does continue after death. But with that knowledge comes a great responsibility, the responsibility which leads you onwards, seeking ever greater knowledge, ever greater understanding of the meaning of life, the responsibility to assist always your brethren, to show compassion to all created life . for you have a shared parentage, the life force which is the gift of the Creator.
The mind of God lives within you all. Seek that part of you in which it lives. Nurture the particle of life which is eternal, lift-up yourselves and your brethren into the light and understanding of God. Allow your mind to fly upwards freely, away from the mundane and the material, that you may experience the re-growth, the rebirth of life which comes from atonement with the God Spirit. On this side of life we stand and wait for the call of you upon earth plane. Always my friends, we wait to help to assist you, to lift you up into the light which each one of you has the right to know. Do not therefore allow yourself to remain in the darkness of materialism. Whilst upon the earth you must of course live as a human being and the material must play its part, if your lives are to be valid. You are after an living upon earth and not in the world of spirit, but spirit and the knowledge of spirit must also play its part.
Never allow yourself to deviate from the path of spiritual progress, by being side-tracked through this material world. All that you gain upon earth you must leave behind when you travel to the world of spirit, all that you can bring with you is the knowledge which you have gained upon earth and the light which you have spun for yourself. When you come to this world, when you leave the earth all the possessions which you may have accumulated, will not count one iota. What is important is the way you have lived your life, what you have gained in knowledge and experience and what you have left behind in the way of comfort and love and giving to your fellow beings. Ensure my friends, that when the time comes for you to leave this earth plane, it shall be for you an experience of joy and for those whom you leave behind upon earth, it shall be a cause of sadness but also of joy because you have left your corner of earth, a lovelier, happier, kinder and place filled with light, than it was before you entered. Let your light shine forth, let the star of your love lead onwards those who may have lost their way.
Let your way of life be an example to all men and I say all men, remember that your thoughts, your love, your light extend far beyond the corner in which you dwell. You cannot measure the distance to which they may reach, for one thought of love is as a stone dropped into a still pool, ripples spread out and out and out. So it is with your thoughts of love, with your ideal of unity, those who truly are of spirit, realize that the power of God., the power of thought and the love you give knows no boundary. Pray always that all may be brought into the fold of love, that love which is ever present for them. May even the most forlorn, the most poverty stricken, come to the realization that no matter how they may suffer, the God Spirit is aware of it and enfolds us with love.
Jesus' Date of Birth
[Question. At this time of the year we celebrate Christmas or the birth of Jesus Christ. Can you advise if the date we celebrate is correct].
My brother this is not as simple as you would imagine, your calendars have changed, you understand? So date as such is virtually impossible to pinpoint. The time of year is approximately correct. It would have been winter-time. The . . . alright . . . I am being told something, one moment please [here a short pause] the impact of the birth of the Nazarene was made apparent because at this time there was a, what you call a comet, do you understand? This gave rise to the legend of the star leading men to the place of birth. Jesus the man came to earth as a teacher, not as a god, this he never claimed. His mediumship was unequalled, he developed every form of mediumship which you could know today. His teaching was inspired but he never ever claimed to be the only begotten son of God. What he did claim was the fatherhood of God, 'My Father', a way of addressing the Creator which had not been used before. He gave this understanding to his followers that all men were part of God and that God was Father to us all. The claim was never ever, that he alone was the son of God.
The time of birth would have been, not I am told in this month when you celebrate it, but in the one which follows, do you understand? And it would . . . all right . . . it would also have been at the time when the moon was full, but a precise date I cannot give you.
How Do You See Us?
[Question. When you are speaking with us here do you see us as we see one another, or do you see us in a different way such as lights and aura].
Well my brother that varies according to conditions. We can see you as you see yourselves, as it were, if it is necessary and if we desire to do so. I say we, I, because I cannot speak for all. Do you understand? Our gift varies as do your own and this is something which you upon earth do not always realize. Some find simplicity in communicating; I am speaking not so much of we who come as messengers but of your friends and relatives, your loved ones who come to this side of life. Clairvoyance, clairaudience, all these gifts work in reverse order also, can you understand me? So that it is not always easy for one who has come to this side of life to return however much they may desire to do so. The ability to, as it were, hit the right vibrations and make themselves apparent or make themselves heard to a clairaudient or a clairvoyant is not always possible. That is why, very often when you go to a sitting with a medium, you do not always make contact with the ones you most desire because on this side we, not so much allow as persuade those who are less able to communicate to do so.
Always bear in mind that those whom you love and who love you are present with you but however much they may desire it are not always able to make themselves known. It is not through lack of love or through lack of desire, because they too need to develop the technique of returning. To some it is easy, just as to some of you upon earth, clairvoyance, trance or whatever it may be is easy. To others it may take many many years and much patience to develop. So remember, do not feel hurt or disappointed when those who were close to you do not return. It is not their fault and remember, though their presence may not be apparent, it is very real and so is the love they send out. We see always the aura surrounding each one of you, we see always the light or the darkness which you send out, but again we have to learn to see clearly and see you in your physical form. It is not always necessary so to do.
Prayer for Those in Darkness
[Question. What prayers should we use for those who have passed-on and who are still living in darkness].
Really it is not important. The desire to help is all that matters. Form of prayer . . . we do not make a set prayer, do you understand? Too often prayers which are written and repeated, become just that, a repetition and the words through much use, can, not always, but can become meaningless. Prayer which you formulate yourself and which comes not merely from the lips but from the mind and the heart also, that is the prayer which is important. Pray to uplift the souls of those who have passed difficult lives, evil lives, those who dwell in darkness and need so badly to reach our for the light. Pray that their eyes shall be opened, that their ears shall hear the voices of those who seek to uplift them, remembering always that those who suffer in darkness must first desire the light before they can see it. You cannot, as you put it, manipulate, you can only stand by with love and with understanding and stretch-out the hand of love to lift them but only when they are ready to grasp it. Pray therefore that this thought shall enter their minds, that they shall be able to receive the knowledge of love and the knowledge of light, but do not seek to make a formal prayer, use your own words and they flow into your light.
Sai Baba
Question. I was reading a article on Sai Baba and he said that he didn't have to sleep at all. Could you explain how he could keep going for twenty-four hours a day, every day. He did actually say that he wouldn't have come to earth if he had not been given this gift to stay awake all the time. Is this a very special thing that happens, or a gift that is given to people because they have a special task.
It is rare that one shall not sleep at all. There are many who need very little sleep, my medium will tell you. But sleep is only necessary in order that the, body, the physical body may recuperate, may replenish its energy, that the cells - although all the time they are being renewed - can renew and refresh themselves without the physical energy been dissipated by movement and by business. Sai Baba is not the only being upon earth with the ability to remain consciously awake, there are many in the eastern countries who also have this ability. It is the knowledge of how to keep the physical body relaxed sufficiently to renew itself without the necessity for the spirit to leave the body.
During sleep you, the spirit, the soul whatever you may call it, will leave the body just as you will at death. The only difference being that the cord which connects soul to body remains un-severed and the spirit can therefore return. When the passing of the soul into the world of spirit is completed, when that cord is severed and nothing at all could induce that spirit to return, it is an impossibility. Sai Baba and others with his knowledge are able to refresh the body, to separate themselves in a way from it, without relinquishing their hold upon it and this is why he remains, as it were, awake. He came, this man to earth as have many in the past with a specific task to perform, to bring this message of light and of love to mankind. There are many interpretations of the message, some that will appeal to many of you, some may reject it, but this man is but the forerunner of one who has yet to come., one who shall lift this earth into the manifestation of light, who shall compel mankind by the force of love to reject evil and materialism and turn inevitably towards light and the will of the God Spirit.
Fear and Anger
Question. It is said that one of the problems of meditating successfully is because we have suppressed fear and anger, can you offer any suggestions for overcoming these conditions.
Fear and anger are negative. They are emotions which if unleashed create havoc rather than peace. Each one of us has this side within us, each and every being whether they admit or realize it or no, is capable of cruelty and of violence. Sometimes this takes the form of thought alone, at others it explodes into physical violence. Violence is born of fear as well as anger. Fear comes because we do not understand, we do not know, the unknown is to many a primal cause of fear, fear breeds uncertainty, insecurity. To use the energy which is dissipated in anger and in fear by creating, by using these thoughts, not to destroy but to build, to build friendship, to learn of each other, to be ready to exchange ideas and thoughts and feelings. You see it is not only anger and fear which are repressed, it is the ability to express oneself, the ability to love, the ability to speak of friendship and of love; to admit one's emotions and one's feelings. For too long it has been taboo to express the innermost thoughts to another. unless that other be very close. We must learn upon earth to exchange our thoughts and our views, we must learn to be willing to tolerate other cultures, other ideas, other ways of living and not because we do not understand them to condemn them. To use all your pent-up energy in working for the God Spirit; to spread light rather than darkness and love rather than hate, knowledge rather than ignorance, patience with another's point of view, patience with each other and patience with ourselves.
Too often anger directed towards another, is the expression not so much of our hatred towards them but of our hatred of ourselves and of what we know we are and would not be. Learn therefore to love not only your fellow beings but yourselves also. Learn to realize that you have failings, that you cannot expect to be perfect whilst living upon earth but strive nevertheless to be as perfect as it is possible to be. Not by suppressing emotion or violence but by channelling it in the right direction.
Christmas
Question. Those who have passed to the other side and who are busy with work to do and a job to complete, do they become conscious or aware of Christmas and the festivities that are generated during that season.
Oh yes. We do not measure time but we do celebrate with you upon earth, your festival of love. It is a time when you could or should generate this love and this reverence towards the God Spirit. A time of thanksgiving and of joy, if Christmas is celebrated as it should be and does not merely become a commercial exercise, then the light which is created from the wellbeing and the loving thoughts sent one to another gives us a great power to use for the good of all mankind. It is not only the Christian festival but those of other nations and of other beliefs which gives it light which we can use to good effect. Those of whom you speak, the loved ones who have travelled before you to this side of life, will of course be present with you, they share your memories, they share your joy and certainly are aware of the thought directed to them. They are not my friend dead, as you well know, they merely have gone a little farther along the pathway which you too shall tread. Families do not become split by death but rather by the rift they themselves make during life. Seek at this time to heal any such rift there may be, whether it be between friends or between family, let each one bring together in unity those that he or she love, but let it not rest only at this season of good cheer. Let this gift of Christmas remain within your hearts throughout each season of the year, let Christmas be in your hearts now, tomorrow and the next day. Let that spirit of giving, of loving remain, that the candles lit now may be alight within your hearts and within your minds to the end of time.
Thoughts and Prayers

Thoughts my brother are things. Whatever you think, even though it may not be [honest], that thought is, it cannot be altered, it cannot be retracted. Thoughts, prayers are seen, the words, the light, the desire, the entreaty and the messengers of this side of life whose work it is to, as it were, sort-out these thoughts, these desires, these prayers segregate the thought and impels it to the, shall we say the department, on this side, those who are best equipped to deal with the request. Now I will say once again that every thought, every prayer is always heard and always always answered. Too often when you pray for something you feel no one has listened, my prayer is unheard, it has not been granted, but I tell you prayers are always heard and always answered but not necessarily in the way you would see them. At the risk of boring those who have heard it before, I would say to you, there are many ways to pray and I will take one example only. You may have perhaps a loved one who is very sick and suffering greatly and the prayer given-out, save this one, give life, do not take her or him away from me and is the kind of prayer that you feel is unanswered. It is couched my friend in the wrong terms. If you truly love another being, then the prayer would be: ‘Father, they suffer. In whatever way you can, then end that suffering. If it be possible to restore my loved one to health and let them remain with me, then so be it, but if this not be possible, then take them swiftly to you that they may awaken free from pain'. That is a prayer of love for another, the first is a prayer for ourselves. If we love and we pray, then we pray that the will of the God Spirit may be made manifest and if we lose one whom we love, then we weep perhaps but the weeping is for ourselves and not for the loved one who is free from the shackles of a physical body and whose spirit flies on the wings of . love into the kingdom of light. Never never hold back that flight by your mourning and your grief, for the soul that is released lift-up your voice in joy; the weeping is for you.
The Choice is Yours
Question. Will our loved ones be awaiting us on the other side and will there be work planned for us to do.
Well my brother, of course those who love you and whom you love, will be awaiting your coming impatiently and with joy. As to the work you will do, the choice is yours, just as it is upon the earth plane. There will be always suggestion and advice and if you are a soul that travelled this road before, then you will as you say, slot back easily into the routine that you have created upon this side of life.
No one is compelled - I would make this very very clear - to do anything. There are many many occupations, many ways of working, many ways of progressing but what you do must be your own choice; we do not direct, only advise. You see, each soul must make its own progression, each soul must learn at its own rate, must advance at its own speed. We, all of us on this side, work together not shall I say, so much as master and pupil, but as equals, as friends sharing the experience of life and living, sharing our advancement, our progression. Seeking always to help those who may not have our own degree of understanding, but never ever forcing our ideas, our thoughts upon another. Being ready to give when asked, ready to advise, to show a more direct path, but never seeking to force nor to compel another. The gift of man is freewill and it is so both upon earth and in the world of spirit. Man must seek his own salvation however long. it may take.
The Human Race
Question. I would like to ask., how did the human race come on this earth. Were we created or did we develop through evolution.
Developed, as was all life, through evolution my brother and still life upon earth is evolving. Man is changing, though gradually. It is very difficult to, as it were, travel back in time and realize the great differences which have occurred., the many many changes in mankind since his beginning. It was indeed man, perhaps luck, I do not know, but he developed the ability to think logically to the degree he has. Never believe that man is entirely alone in this, for what man put down as instinct in many of what he chooses to call the lower creatures, is not always so. There are many among them that have the power to reason, to a greater or lesser degree, but this man chooses to ignore. The downfall of mankind has been always his arrogance, his inability to admit that other creatures upon earth are worthy of consideration. But I tell you it could just as easily have been one of the other creatures, other forms of life that developed the brain power and the reasoning which man has and it may be that had one of the creatures been able to develop the technology as man has done that this earth would not be in such a condition as it is in the present time. Man has developed technology and as we have said many times before, he has yet to find the wisdom to use it as it should be. Man now is beginning to see, beginning to understand but that one cannot always take without giving, that this earth is not an unlimited store, that it needs to be replenished. But one cannot continually wound without destroying. The earth needs healing and the light is beginning to dawn. Man is coming to the realization of the devastation which he has caused to this earth upon which he dwells.
Evolution is still in progress, there are many among you who will understand, who will begin to feel, who will begin to listen; for this earth is a wonderful place. It is something to be loved and preserved for future generations and man must undertake this healing if he is not to disappear as the dinosaur. Progress, evolution have been slow and the understanding of that has also been slow, but progress has been made and the light has been lit. We hope, we pray, that the disaster which many of us feared has now been averted.
Epilogue
I thank you my friends for you interest and your attention and the quality of your questions, to which I hope you have found an answer. And now I will close with a prayer to the God Spirit.
0 Spirit of Life and Truth and Understanding, we come to You with humility and with love, we ask that each one here present shall come to feel Thy love, to know Thy light, to recognize the beauty of Thy design. 0 Father, as you send the wind through the trees, through the grasses of the prairie, so send the wind of Thy song through the hearts of Thy children. Let them look upon Thy face and know Thy glory, let them look upon the mountains, upon the seas, upon the sun and in them see Thee. Let them gaze upon the still waters and know the stillness of Thy presence. May the joy of life spring within their hearts as You bring life to the earth each Spring. So may Spring be made manifest in their hearts and may they be present ever with Thee, may they be prepared always for the moment when life shall be renewed within them, may they know again that each day is a great day to live so also is it a great day to die, to rejoin those who have passed, to be present with Thee. Be Thou with them on every step of the trail of life, that they may never ever feel alone.
