May the God Spirit be with you, I give you greetings.
My friends, there is upon this earth today a great feeling that the time has come for man to reawaken, to confirm if you will, his belief in the Creator. For many many years now the emphasis has been upon the material, of power, fame, wealth. But now, at least gradually, man is beginning to realize that these things are but passing, but what is truly important is the wealth of spirit, the development of spirituality and understanding of the nature of the Great Spirit. For too long in past years there has been a belief in a God whose likeness was that of mankind. A God who demanded obedience, whose word, if you like, was not only law, but judge and jury. A God who demanded sacrifice, who believed, who decreed that only through suffering could man come to His kingdom. This misinterpretation of the nature of God has spread throughout many of your orthodox religions. They have become, not an understanding, not an acknowledgement of the compassion of the God Spirit, but religions of fear. Where priests held sway through terror, through fear of damnation, who exposed those who differed in their interpretation, to physical and mental torture. This is against all that the great teachers of the past have given to mankind. For those who came as messengers of the Great Spirit, those who gave their lives in that service taught that your Creator is a creator of understanding. The Father/Mother God of you all, a creature filled with compassion. A Father who does not punish, but uplifts and encourages the children. For all mankind, all creation is a family, the family of the God Spirit.
Throughout the nations God is known by many differing names, there are different ways of worship, different ideas, different praise, but within the hearts of men lies God. This we have told you so many many times. God is a being who lies within you all, surrounds you all, comforts and uplifts you all; never a being to be feared. A being that is formless and therefore the same to all men. Understanding the nature, understanding the nature of your fellow being, is an integral and important part of opening yourself, of discovering your own spirituality, of becoming as one with each other and with the God Spirit. As time goes on, albeit very gradually, man come to this realization and this time, this end of one century and the beginning of another, is indeed a time of rebirth, a time of awakening, of reiterating one's belief. For man has now the opportunity to turn from the material, to enrich his life, to understand the meaning, the purpose of being here on earth, to enlarge the horizons of understanding, to become at one, not only with the world of spirit, but with those who share this land with you. To become tolerant and understanding of other creeds and other cultures, for only with tolerance can this earth be freed from the degradation of warfare, of hatred, of misunderstanding.
For too long man has fought over territory upon the earth, has fought to convert others to his or her own belief, but I tell you there are many roads to the kingdom of God. It matters not by what name you call God and the highest praise you can offer to the one who gave you life, is to reverence and to respect all the other forms of life in which God also dwells. This means trying to understand those whose beliefs are different from your own. Trying to realize what will insult, what will hurt, what will cause shame to another. Things, events, words which may seem foolish to you can cause deep and lasting resentment to those of another belief, to those who have been brought-up to another way of thinking. It is in the nature of mankind, to despise, to ridicule or to fear any that are different from oneself. This is the cause of racism, the cause of fear, the cause of war. Man is the only living creature who deliberately destroys his own kind. Man must learn tolerance, must learn to live in harmony. This I know is an old old story, one that we are always telling you, but it is the road to understanding, the road to the kingdom of God. We speak when upon earth so often. the priests, the churchmen among us, of this kingdom of God, the heavenly kingdom. Heaven is something towards which you must strive, something which you have to wait for until you come to the spirit world. But my friends I tell you, the kingdom of God lies within your own hearts, it lies above and around you. It is not a place, it is a state of mind.
All among you who reach out in love, a hand to the God Spirit, a hand to your fellow being, those are they who dwell continually in the kingdom of God. It is something which each and every one of us can carry with us. Heaven in medieval times was thought of as being a place up there and hell down beneath, a place of fire and torment, but I tell you, heaven is what you make it. You create both your heaven and your hell within yourselves and how often do we believe that what will being us joy, what will bring us into this heaven, lies with the material, only to discover that when we obtain the things that are supposedly to give us this heaven, they are empty and that we tire of them.
Anything which is material is liable to destruction. For the joy of understanding, the joy of knowledge that we are giving pleasure because we are giving of ourselves to other beings. The tranquillity comes within from knowing that we having trod this path of life, have attempted never to harm or to hurt another being. This is a lasting joy, the joy of giving, the joy of loving, the joy of understanding, that will not pass away because it becomes a part of yourselves, a light, a shining light, a beacon in the darkness of the mundane. It may be that by forgiving another being, by withholding anger, you are deemed religious, but only by those fools who have no other standards. To withhold anger shows not weakness but strength. It is so easy upon this earth to lose one's temper, to lash out either physically or with one's tongue, causing injury perhaps beyond that which was done to you.
My friends within Christianity, there is much that we can learn and from the prayer that the Nazarene gave, 'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us'. That is a maxim which all would do well to heed. Anger rebounds upon those who generate it. It is said on occasions I know, that losing one’s temper is a relief, it is a safety valve; it is not, for anger rebounds, it brings a darkness within your aura and it is something which can never be called back. Strive then always to be strong enough, to be powerful enough to refrain from anger and from bitterness which eats into the heart of man as a beetle into wood. Be within yourselves giants of understanding and of tolerance, feel yourselves to be at one with the God Spirit. Let that part of you which is God, which is light come to the fore, be each one of you in the vanguard of those who make straight the path of the messenger who shall in the time to come, come to this earth. I cannot tell you when or where or who, but we do know that there is a teacher coming and that earth must be ready to receive. For it is a chance to turn this whole earth plane into a place of harmony, of peace and of atonement with the Great Spirit.
The Next Messenger
Question. Who is the teacher that is coming.
That my friend we do not know as yet. It will be a shining one, a messenger direct from the God Spirit and as I said just now, when and where and actually who, we do not know. You see again, that is not important. Do you understand? Name can be confusing, it will not be as some believe the return of one who has already given message to earth. The Christos, the Christ Spirit has, I should not say something to do with Christianity, for that is not so, but it is the essence of what the Great Spirit would have you learn. It is, shall we say, the mind of God and of that mind there are many facets, many representatives upon earth. Half of the trouble in this earth plane today, is caused by people believing, insisting that the teacher who initially sowed the seeds of their belief , their religion is the only true messenger from God. Do you understand? But I tell you there are many faces to God, there are many names by which the messengers are called; the names are unimportant.
When you come to this world of spirit, what you were named upon earth is quite irrelevant. Fame one leaves behind, all that is important here is the light which you have created by your actions upon earth. That is what we gauge each other by, the light that goes with us and the light of the messenger to come win be radiant indeed, but do not expect it to happen, shall we say, within the next decade, we do not know. The need upon earth is great, but the time must be right, the harvest must be ripe for reaping. This earth has suffered much at the hands of men. Man is beginning at last to come to this realization and to realize that he needs more than merely physical comfort. When his eyes are open to see, his ears to hear, then will the messenger come.
How Many Incarnations?
Question. How many times does the spirit return to earth.
There is no set time [number of times], indeed there are many who do not return to earth at all. Reincarnation is a fact, yes, but it is a voluntary thing. One does not become compelled to return. Man, as many of you will know, has freewill, that is one of the most important things to remember, because if you understand this fully you will realize that you are responsible for your own development, your own spiritual awareness, your own actions and your own words. You cannot blame what happens to you upon fate. Before you return to earth, if indeed you have done so, you will have determined roughly the pattern that your life will take. Because you return to earth as to a school, to learn, to prove you have already learned, that you have become through your experience a stronger being and that difficulties encountered in a previous life shall now be overcome. Or maybe you have come in order to teach, to heal, to help. To help lift mankind from darkness to light and this decision is yours. If and when you return, some return many times for various reasons, but others prefer to learn on this side of life, to extract from the pool of knowledge all that they need.
I myself prefer the method of reincarnation, because it seems to me a wiser course to judge by one's own experience, even though experience and knowledge are pooled among the groups, the various groups on this side of life and are available to an. But being of an enquiring mind, I personally preferred to experience for myself and many of you do this also, finding it a swifter and surer way to awakening and understanding. But I believe you have a saying, 'how long is a piece of string', so indeed it is with reincarnation, so it is indeed with your lives.
Guide/Medium Compatibility
Question. When your medium passes over, does that mean that you won't return to earth again to give lectures. Is this the same also with other mediums and their guides.
Not always no. You see Marcus, my friend uses not only this medium but a medium in another land also. It depends very largely upon whether we can find another medium who is compatible. Do you understand? The guide, the healing guide of this medium's father was a very wonderful healer and he said: ‘when this my medium passes, I will not return again'. But he has returned through this medium of mine, very rarely it is true and usually for those who knew him with his first and most important medium. The reason he explained is that this medium is very very like - both physically and mentally - her father and therefore it is possible to use her body as he used his. But it sometimes takes us a very long time and you know we do not measure time it can be many years, hundreds even before we find a medium who is suitable for what we need to do. There has to be a harmony, a trust and an understanding between us and the medium we use. Too often those who would be desirous of becoming mediums do so for the very wrong reasons. Desirous of becoming great.
Now I tell you, there are no great mediums, there are no great guides, there are no great teachers among us. We are servants, servants of mankind and most of all servants of the God Spirit. It is wrong to deify, to glorify either mediums or guides, they are workers, they are friends, they are helpers and messengers, but it is the power of God which works through them. That is what you should praise, the power which is God given. We work upon earth because we desire to bring mankind into a better state of understanding, but it is sometimes the case that as we ourselves progress to higher and higher spheres, it becomes no longer possible to inhabit a human body. The power which we would bring would be physically damaging to the body of a medium. Do you understand? It would literally burn it out. So many whom you call guides, do in fact slow down their own progress in order to return, in order to serve mankind. But there does come a time for all of us when it is no longer possible that we must go on.
The Lamb of God
Question. Could you explain what is meant by ‘The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world'.
The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. This is a myth. I have explained before, each of you, each soul, each being is responsible for yourself, for your sins and your good deeds also. No one, no being on earth or on this side of life can absolve you from what you have done. For one of the greatest laws of the God Spirit, a law that is immutable, it cannot be changed even by the God Spirit Itself. It is the law of sowing and reaping and if you sow darkness and evil and misunderstanding then that also shall you reap. I have said that you create your own heaven and your own hell and this is all a part of it. There is not on this side a hall of judgement, but there are other scales, the balance of karma. You will not be called upon to redress wrongs which you may have committed, but you will be shown the balance and then it is up to you. But at some time during your existence you must make the balance right.
The Lamb of God many refer to as Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus never stated that he could absolve mankind from their own evil. What he did was try to show men how to live in the shadow of God and believe me my sister, sins cannot be forgiven in that way. Punishment there is none, but each of you must resolve whatever you may have done. Man must come to this realization, to this true understanding of freewill. You learn of the continuity of life, that man goes on, that the physical being is not the essential you, that your mind and your spirit are not physical, they are immortal. But with that realization comes the responsibility of knowing that you must work out your own salvation, that nothing is preordained. The responsibility for your progress, for your actions is your own.

Question. Could you tell me first of all who you are.
Would that change your question my brother? [Laughter].
No, but it may help me to come closer to you.

Recall from Past Lives
Further question. I would like to come back to the question of reincarnation. I have learned from trance lectures that before we come to earth we go to a temple from where we can see the future and we decide which country we want to reincarnate in and which family, etc. But having taken these decisions, we seem to forget everything and we start to flounder on earth, going by trial and error. How is it we cannot recall that information and live our lives like, say an engineer, going to the site with a plan.
Ah yes my brother, but I will use a simile which we have used, all of us, many times before. When you come back to earth, you come as I have said, usually for one of three reasons, to learn, to prove that you have learned or to teach or, perform a specific task which you have undertaken upon this side of life. Those are they whose lives are perhaps a little more ordered because they are older and wiser spirits in general. For the other two reasons, to learn, to prove that you have learned; in that case, in both those cases, if you had a complete knowledge of what would occur, which is impossible because events change, man always has the power to change things. But if you knew it would be like seeing an examination paper before you sat the exam. Do you understand? It would be cheating. You within yourselves, do have this knowledge and if you would take the time to meditate, to become at one with the God Spirit, then you would find the ability to unlock the memory of what you had learned. Whatever situation you find yourself in, you have chosen, as you have said, the place, the environment, the parents and the companions.
must be given. You may dislike, hate even what the person has done but to the spirit you must give out love, otherwise there is no progress either for you or those in darkness. I have digressed I know, but this is important, that you understand the meaning of love. When you come back to earth
Oftentimes you will meet people with whom you feel an immediate affinity, those with whom you have perhaps shared a life or many lives before. For very often those who work in the same group on this side of life will make an incarnation at the same time, not always but often. It explains also why you sometimes feel an immediate aversion to another human being. Tolerance you should have, compassion and understanding, but that does not necessarily mean liking. You know Marcus once gave here a talk upon love and loving and someone said to him, but it is very difficult when perhaps we have unpleasant neighbours, we have relatives with whom we do not agree and the reply was: 'I told you to love them, I did not say you had to like them'. Now there is a great difference you know. Love is something you can give, even though you may realize that a person is not of the light but of the darkness. When we work in rescue circles this becomes very apparent , because those who sit in such circles must be ready to give love no matter what the consequences, no matter how horrific the beings who come through may be in their eyes, love you are given the opportunity to develop spiritually, each. being in that sense is born equal. I know that many will argue that a person born, in perhaps very poor circumstances, in what you now call the third world, a poor person born where there is oppression and tyranny, has not the same opportunity as one who was born into a land of plenty, but we are not speaking on a material level, we are speaking of spirituality.
But I tell you, no matter how poor, no matter how oppressed, the opportunities for spiritual development are equal. Because each one has within themselves the spirit of light which is a part of the cosmic mind, part of the mind of God. Whether you choose to develop that mind, that spirit, that power, is your choice. There are many, so many, that have risen in spiritual stature from absolutely nothing, whose belief has been ground into the dust, have nevertheless held on to what they within themselves knew to be true. That is what is important and if you remember, always to seek first the will of the God Spirit, to listen to that voice within, then my brother you will not as you put it, flounder, but find the straight path, the true one which is the kingdom of God.
Further Elaboration on Corn Circles
Question. What is the cause of the circles in the corn. [See also Chapter 7].
This is quite noticeable, but it is not a spiritual manifestation, rather physical my brother, it is another instance of man's damage to earth. For very long man has used earth and its resources, he has improved, as he thought, upon nature. You have used chemicals to improve growth, both in the plant and the animal kingdom. You have fed to animal kingdom that which they were not formed to consume and now you are reaping indeed that which you have sown. The circles in the corn are caused through, what shall I say, mutations within the seed. Can you follow me? It is not a harmful manifestation, but it is shall we say a warning. Man must return to more natural methods of cultivation.
I am not saying that you should go back to what some may call the good days, but for those who lived them, were not perhaps so happy. But you must learn to use your technology more wisely and not to play with fires that you do not understand. On this side there are those who care for plant life, the devas, the spirits who look after what you may call lesser forms of life, but which nevertheless are still a part of creation. And they have brought the physical, side, the circles, they have endeavoured to make this manifestation apparent so that man will stop and think and wonder why. For if it is investigated it will be seen that where the circles are there is this change in the seed corn itself.
Earthly Help to Spirit
Question. Is there anything we can do to help those in the spirit world.
To help who my sister?
Those who have passed into the spirit world.
You mean people known to yourselves?
Yes.
Well that rather depends upon what you are meaning. Usually when you pass from this earth plane to the world of spirit; for one who has passed violently or after long illness, there is a time of recuperation and sometimes for those who have not knowledge of an after life, it is necessary to bring them back to earth, to make them realize that the physical was merely a part of themselves and that they are indeed still alive, that there is no purgatory, there is nothing to fear; but a progression of the spiritual level. Those of you still upon earth in such cases can help mainly by concentrating the power of your thought, by sending it forth to them, not by grieving; grief and bereavement is a natural emotion, but it should not take over your lives, because you are mourning, you are grieving, not for the sake of the one who has passed, for they have passed into spirit, into if they so desire, a fuller and richer life, a reunion with others whom they may have known that have gone before them. You are mourning the loss to yourselves; that is quite normal, but not when it becomes excessive. For it creates then a barrier between you and the ones you love. A barrier of tears which are harder to break through than a brick wall. And those who have passed to this side may be seeking so hard to contact you but are held back by this long grieving.
If you feel there is a need for help, a need for understanding, then seek to link not only with that person but with your own guides and helpers. Ask always that they be taken into the light, that they be shown the pathway and that they can be assured that those they left behind are well and happy. Do not try going from medium to medium seeking contact, this is distressing both for you and for those concerned on this side of life. You must understand that here we know no time and what seems to you a very long wait indeed, to us, to your loved ones, is nothing. When it is possible to contact you, they surely will do so, often with thanks for the love you have give them, for the upliftment they have felt from your prayers and from your thoughts. But here I would say something we cannot emphasise too often. Whenever you do have a sitting with a medium, whatever their form of mediumship may be, accept whoever may come to you, try to be quite open minded about this. For if you go with the one idea of one particular person and that alone, again you are creating a barrier. Always try both to meditate and to sit with a clear, open and receptive mind. That is the best and surest way to make contact with those you love. But remember always that on this side of life there are very many helpers always willing to uplift those who have just passed. They do not lack love or support, but that does not mean that your love is not of great and lasting benefit.
Corn Circles - Clarification
Question. If I may refer back to the question on corn circles. If that be mutation within the seed, how is it that it is such a perfect circle.
This is what I am trying to explain, that the devas who care for the corn have initiated this, the perfect circle. It is to make an awareness. Do you understand?
I thought you said it wasn't spiritual or caused by spirit, that it is caused by the bad seed?
Yes, it is the bad seed - how can I explain it. It is an injured seed within the corn but the arrangement of it is by the devas who care for the corn. Can you not follow this?
I'm sorry, I can't.
The corn itself is physical, do you see what I mean? It is not for instance arranged by beings from outer space or other planets. The corn itself is damaged in a physical manner, but all life upon earth has these beings which we call the devas, who care for that particular part of life, shall we say and they have tried by forming these circles of bad mutated seed to bring to man's attention what is happening.
Do you follow it now?
A little better, but not entirely.
It is rather difficult I know, it is complex because it works on both levels, but when I said it was not a spiritual thing, this was what I meant, that it was not caused . . . these beings, although they are neither physical nor entirely spirit. It is not caused by us in the world of spirit or by those on other planets but by the devas themselves.
[It would appear that the circles are caused by the devas to draw attention to mutated seed, but the mutated seed does not cause the circles. Ed.]
The Indestructible Spirit
Question. If we come back to learn, why do we have to [inaudible].
Again you are speaking on a physical level and this I know is a concept that is very difficult to understand. The brain is a physical thing, it is matter, it affects the outward form of man, but it does not affect the spirit within. This again is very difficult, because when dwelling upon earth you tend to judge a person by the intelligence, do you not? But intelligence has nothing to do with spirituality. A person can be blind, deaf, dumb and brain damaged and still the spirit within stays clear, it is still perhaps, a radiant and beautiful light. Nothing, no physical condition can affect the immortal spirit, the Immortal soul and that soul may well be learning from the very experience of being trussed within a disordered brain. Do you understand?
You see - do not quote this as being invariable - it can be that the very soul who has manifested within a brain damaged body has in the past been one who jeered and ridiculed those who are mentally handicapped and retarded and this will be their form of recompense, of restoring the balance. They will voluntarily decide that they will spend an incarnation within such a body, or again it may be one who is seeking to expand their spirituality and who seeks to gain a greater tolerance, a greater understanding of this imprisonment as it is always. But the spirit itself can never be influenced, the spirit is immortal. Man cannot damage the spirit within. This knowledge is what upheld many who have suffered torture and been sacrificed for what they believe in. For within themselves they are true to themselves.
I know that some have said in the past, when men died for the belief perhaps that they were what you call Catholic or Protestant, they would not retract and I have heard it said, but how foolish because this is unimportant. Yes it is because all roads lead, as I have said, to the God Spirit, but to that spirit it is a betrayal of themselves. If you know something, you feel that in yourself that it is right, then to deny it is blasphemy, for you. Each of us has to find our own pathway and having found it, we cannot deny it, because if we do we destroy something within, ourselves. We are a part of God, we are immortal. If mankind truly understood this there would be an end to war, for war and the so-called destruction it brings are futile. You cannot destroy another human being, you cannot destroy any being. You can destroy its physical covering, but not the being itself. But life is eternal, life is indestructible.

Epilogue
My friends, I thank you once again for all your support and your most interesting questions. It is always a joy to be here with you, to talk with you and sometimes to laugh with you. Laughter you know - Medicine man - my medi’s father's guide always said was the very best medicine. His continual cry is: 'you people, bend your faces' and my friends it is true, whatever the situation, laughter, smiling may not mend it but it can ease it. But now, I will as requested, offer a prayer to the God Spirit.
O Great Spirit, Thou who art all feeling and all wise, You who are the fountain of love, of understanding and of knowledge. May these who are Thy children be given the light of Thy presence, may it be revealed to them that Thy faith is the' faith of love. That Thou art not one to fear, but one to praise, one to turn to in adversity, for Thou art always present. No matter how dark the night, how slippery the pathway, You are there, no matter how fearsome the task ahead, You are there. Teach them then Thy children, to ask of Thee, to know Thy presence, to stretch out their hand that You can lift them up. O Spirit of Life, let all mankind know Thee, let all mankind realize Thy kingdom and then come in peace one with another into Thy presence. O God be present for each one here tonight, let them seek always Thy will, let them be given light to light their pathway, that they may take up Thy light and be a beacon for all mankind to see. Bless this Thy house and all who move and work within it. Let it spread far and wide, the truth, the knowledge, the understanding which Thou hast to give. Bless and keep us now and always and walk with these Thy children on their homeward journey. All praise and light be to Thee ever and always, Thou who art the source.
