May God be with you, I give you greetings.
My friends this evening I will speak to you very briefly. We need upon this side of life to bring to you not only knowledge, but wisdom. Not only power, but the strength of mind to use the power of the God Spirit which lies within you all. It is our aim and our purpose to bring each into the awareness of the presence of God within them. For only thus can man come to his full stature, come to understand the purpose and the meaning of life upon earth. Each of you has the ability to develop within you this power, to make manifest the kingdom of the God Spirit within your own heart and your own environment. We know that upon earth conditions are difficult, there is much violence, much ill-feeling, much distrust between the nations. But you as individuals have the ability to make your own corner of life a place that is good to be in, a place that will be remembered long after you have passed once more into this world of spirit. Today many among you are seeking to learn truth, seeking to gain understanding, to enlarge and enrich the knowledge of spirit which is innate within you. We here on this side seek also to give to you that knowledge, a sense not of fear, but once more of wellbeing; to let you realize that the plans of the God Spirit will truly come to pass.
The Creator of Life does not desire violence or fear, cruelty and misunderstanding which are so rife among you upon this earth. The whole meaning and purpose is that this earth shall perfect itself and all that lives and breathes upon it, shall become a part of the plan for the whole of this universe. Today it is gratifying to see that many among the young among you are also seeking to learn, it is not fear of death that drives them, but the curiosity, the curiosity of what shall happen after death. Curiosity about the meaning of life, about the purpose of being and why so many of your great orthodox religions have failed to keep the mind and heart and spirit of the nations. Because although in origins they had truth, somewhere along their journey, along the evolution many of them have lost it. The fire of truth has faded and they have become merely vessels hollow with rituals, that no longer hold true. Truth needs to be sought, it cannot be given by another, it is something which each one of you must seek and find for yourselves. We here can give you pointers along the way, we can give you assistance when you fall, but only if you ask us and only give help and guidance; we cannot steer your pathway for you.
The oceans of life are fraught with many dangers and great difficulties, but those who use truth will steer their way clearly and reach the other side. My children, we come to uplift you, to strengthen you, for all of you no matter how knowledgeable, no matter how materially comfortable you may be, still all of you face problems of doubts and fears on your journey through life. Place yourselves in the power of the God Spirit, that that power may contact the power which lies within you. It is as a spark of electricity when one meets the other, then truth is known. The truth belongs to the God Spirit and each of you has the power to find it, the power to hold within yourself the knowledge which you shall gain. Knowledge and understanding are as the pearl within the oyster, first you must open yourselves in order to find it, open yourselves to the God Spirit, offer yourselves in service and in love and truth and love shall indeed be given unto you. Today within your movement of Spiritualism, there is far too much dissension, there are too many who seek self-glorification and not service. One of the greatest maxims which Jesus of Nazareth gave to his disciples was that: ‘He who would be great shall be the servant of all'. This too often is forgotten, particularly by the so-called Christians of today. Thy seek salvation, but for themselves alone, but salvation from what? One cannot escape one's own actions, one cannot escape the harvest that one sows. No amount of confession or attending churches will wash away hurtful words and harmful deeds, let your lives be an example of truth, let your atonement with the world of spirit and with the Creator of Life be apparent to all. Not by your words, not by your preaching, not by travelling from door to door and trying to force your ideas upon others. But let it be apparent by the way you live, by the way you treat others, by the light that you give and the love that you have, that you have found something unique, something that you do not merely believe, but know to be truth. For whether or not you have belief in a life after death and in communication, it is fact and a fact which you cannot either ignore or escape when you come to this side of life.
There are so many who on their return to this world of spirit refuse to believe; I cannot be dead they say, for I can still speak, I can see, I can hear, I can feel and I can touch. It takes them long to accept truth and they are what is called earthbound souls, they cannot escape from the material, for they lived by it and by it alone. But when they come to realize, they can no longer ignore truth, the truth that life goes on throughout eternity and that you have an eternity in which to learn, in which to expand your knowledge, in which to accept truth. But how much simpler if you learn whilst in this life and if you hold dear that truth, then share it m y friends with others.
Spiritual Protection
Question. Good evening. You say you are there to help us. Where are you when people are killed and where are their guides. Why are you or their guides not there in such times to help.
We are, but we my brother cannot interfere, we can help you yes, help you in understanding, but we cannot live your lives or die you deaths for you. Man has freewill, freewill to choose his pathway through life. Freewill in some cases to choose his or her own death. There is no predestination, but man before coming to earth, will choose where and how to live, to whom he shall be born, in order that he or she may best fulfil their own purpose in being born upon earth. It is not we who determine that, but each one of you as individuals. We do not determine the events in your lives, we can in some cases prevent you from making mistakes either in learning or of a physical nature, but only if you are aware, if your subconscious is aware and that you open-up and listen to those who would communicate with you. But we cannot physically prevent you or compel you from doing anything. If I could see that you when walking from this building, would take a wrong path and would walk in the pathway of an oncoming vehicle, all I could do would be to tell you, if you do this then such and such a thing win inevitably occur, but I could not forcibly prevent you. Do you understand?
Further question. How would I receive such a message from you.
I am saying that we can only communicate if you yourself are spiritually aware and open as it were to our suggestions. We can impinge upon your aura, we can attempt to influence your mind, but if you do not listen there is nothing that we can do and we cannot take you and physically prevent you, for it is forbidden. It is not that spirit does not have the power to move, as you know we can move objects, we can apport them if that is our task.
Even to save a life you couldn't do it?
But why my brother? That is a physical attitude. Why strive so desperately to cling to life upon earth, for this is only a very short part of existence. When you come to this side of life, life upon earth passes thus [clicks fingers], for we do not measure time. We seek always to prevent where we can suffering, but death is not necessarily suffering. You move indeed to a fuller and freer life. It is puzzling when one sees the freedom of life here, that man strives so much to prolong life which is narrow in comparison, which is fraught with danger, with sorrow, with frustration and yet so many among you feel that - as you have said life here must be kept at all costs. Reverence for life yes, but trying to expand it beyond its natural span no, it is not truly logical.
Walking in front of a bus is not a natural span, is it?
No, but the buses are manmade and you yourself have taken the pathway, no one in the world of spirit has told you, walk there my brother and join us. Neither do we suggest that you commit suicide in order to join us.
And what if a child does this?
What my brother is the difference, all life is one, it matters as much.
You wouldn't try to stop a child?
The animal kingdom which you so happily destroy; what about the way you cut short their lives quite unnecessarily, but it suits man to do so. Should we not also then prevent that? This earth and all that dwell upon it will come to understanding, will come to the perfection which is the God Spirit's will, but only through your own action and through your own freewill. We can only advise, we can only help when we are asked to do so. We cannot force our ideas, our opinions, our guidance even upon those who are closed to our voices.
Aquarian Age
Question. It is said that we are now in the Aquarian Age, but in the past few years there has been much sadness. Has this anything to do with the change being brought about by the Aquarian Age.
The Aquarian Age is an age in which man has the opportunity both to learn and to understand. There is an upsurge of spirituality, of understanding within many centres of this earth. Sadness and sorrow is not necessarily . . . [Defect in tape].
There are many upheavals which have been and are yet to come, but even in this man has violated this planet on which you dwell. You have taken without replenishing and now this is taking its toll, but I will say that man has at last awoken to this fact and there are many nations who are seeking to heal the ravages of earth. Do not blame your sadness, your sorrows, your disasters upon the God Spirit, for the God Spirit is not a being of vengeance, but a great all encompassing love.
More on Predestination
Question. Could you give me you views on predestination as there seem to be so many views on this subject.
I know my brother, it is something which we are so often asked, but if you study the laws of the God Spirit and I speak of laws, not of my opinion; there is always a great difference and we who teach, who are of the light should always clearly define what is fact and immutable fact and what is our opinion or our theory. Now, the laws of the God Spirit are not theory, they are unchanging from the beginning of time. The first law, as you know, is that you shall, all of you, love the God Spirit, the Creator. In doing so, you must love yourselves, you must learn to love yourselves, for you are a part of God and without self –love, as apart from selfish love, you cannot fully love the God Spirit. Neither can you love the God Spirit if you do not love your neighbour, neither can you love the God Spirit if you do not extend that love to all created life. For the God Spirit is in all forms of life, in every cell of matter. Therefore in keeping the first law you keep many of the others. The second great law is that each individual shall reap as they sow. Now if you apply logic to this, predestination would make a nonsense of it. How can you blame yourself for your misdeeds, how can you blame another for violence against yourselves or against other forms of life. You cannot if you accept predestination, because that would absolve you from all responsibility. You can say that I had to do this or say this because it was mapped for me, it was my fate. I tell you this is not so, if you accept the fact that life goes on, you must accept your own personal responsibility and that rules out any kind of predestination. The only way in which you can say your life is determined is if you have reincarnated and you have chosen where you shall come, when and how and to whom you shall be born and that will influence the trend, but the trend only which your life will take. It will not determine each and every word you utter or each and every event which shall occur during that lifetime. Is this clear to you?
Yes. But Jesus was aware of the reason for which he came into this world and said: ‘For this cause came I into this world’ and he also said that God will send us another messenger. Is not the other messenger therefore preordained or predestined?
I understand what you mean my brother, but each of you coming to earth will have either a task to perform or a lesson to learn, whatever, but the reason is there. You will be aware of the reason before you come to earth, it will be perhaps sunk within your subconscious mind during your stay upon earth, but it is there. Therefore you still are steering the ship. Do you understand me? Jesus came yes, he came to this earth, not as a god, but he was a very developed being. He was sent, but could not have been sent had he not accepted the task. He undertook to come to this earth knowing, not because it was predestined but because of the political situation upon it, that his life, his earthly life, would more than likely be forfeit. He came because he accepted, he had been asked, not compelled, to come to this earth to give light, enlightenment and hope to a people who were in despair, to help break the bonds of Rome, the tyranny which spread not only throughout the Jewish nation, but throughout much of the known earth plane. The so-called peace of Rome the ‘Pax Romana’ of which Marcus has spoken already to you many times. As so often, this began as a wonderful idea, peace throughout the earth, an end to warfare, to barbarism, but what happened. What happened in Rome happens so often today, for what is misunderstood is that unity, peace and love cannot be brought about by compulsion. It must be through spiritual education, through the enlightenment of men’s minds, the desire to be at one with each other must stem from each one of you as individuals. For the nations will not live in peace when amongst yourselves you strive. Jesus came knowing that man had many miles, many millions of years perhaps still to go before this true peace is achieved, before the earth reaches perfection. But at that time there was a great need, he knew that the Jewish nation were not ready as a whole to accept, him, but that many among them would do so and that because they had been close to this idea of a one god.
There would from them spread messengers who would spread this word, this truth, this light. He came knowing that it would be but a candle in the night and that the winds of time would distort this flame as indeed has happened, but the seed of truth is there, it is still with you today. For he taught – if you could hear his words – the simple truth which we try today to bring back to you. It is not a truth for Christianity alone, for it is the thread of life, the thread of truth which is apparent to the seeker in all the great religions from the beginning of time. The truth that God is love, that God the Spirit of Life requires your love in return, requires that you love each other, that you serve’ each other, that you accept your responsibility for each other. I am not my brother’s keeper it is said, but you are, for the pain of another diminishes you. The joy of another should give joy also to you. Jesus was a great man, a great being, because he was already an advanced spirit, men believed that he was born as the son of God. He was, but only in so far as you also my brother are a son of God. You all are children of the God Spirit and this is what he tried to say.
If only you could accept that all life is one life, you would learn the beginnings of compassion and of truth. Jesus did know because he had an understanding of the minds of others and he knew because he was in constant communication with those on this side of life who sought to uphold him, to give him strength; he could see not because it was predetermined, that if he could see the various paths and knew that if he chose this path in opposition to orthodoxy, it would be expedient for the priests to end his physical life, because they would see him as a danger to themselves, to their teaching, to their livelihood if you will. But also they mistakenly believed him to be a danger to the nation as a whole because they were convinced that he was a leader in the military sense and not merely the spiritual. They feared an uprising, for they knew the power of Rome and knew that any uprising would be crushed inevitably and that they and the nation would perish. But this is not predestination. The one who shall come to this earth will have this ability also to be aware of the pathway, its hazards, its dangers, its glories and its possible end.
Expectations
Question. Good evening my friend. What would you feel and think about the idea that our life and any life is a projection of our inner expectations.
A projection of expectation. One comes to this earth indeed, each individual with as you rightly say, expectations. With some there are expectations of material gain, of fame, of what they would call a goodly life, but that is not the purpose of life. The purpose of life is the expectation of spiritual awakening, of development of your spiritual pathway. In that yes, life is indeed a projection of these deeper expectations, that you should seek always a deeper understanding and a projection from within your mind of that which you carry with you from this side of life. Man is a reflection of his inner self. Each of you when entering this earth plane has the opportunity as we have said so often, to determine your pathway whether you shall be positive, negative, light or dark. Whether you succeed in projecting the image of yourself which you would wish to make apparent comes from within yourselves. We are all of us human, we do not always unfortunately see ourselves in a true mirror image, we do not see ourselves as we become apparent to other beings. Your life upon earth is a series of events and what you make of those events determines the harvest which you shall reap upon this side of life. One of our beloved friends upon this side of life who does not speak to you publicly, but is much revered and loved, has said and we have often quoted: 'Nothing you do or say, nothing which gives you either joy or sorrow, pain or upliftment, no mistake is ever wasted unless you refuse to learn from it'. Therefore meet every experience of life as a lesson to be learned, turn your thoughts in a positive way towards your spiritual progress. For only thus shall the expectations within you truly come to fruition and be made apparent to you. Life of course, we would accept, is a series of your inner projected expectations.
Passing to Spirit
Question. Could you please tell me what happens to the spirit immediately after death and according to the type of death, such as suicide.
Yes my sister it differs, it differs with each individual. Not so much the process but its length of time and so forth. Those who have suffered a long drawn out illness of the body, unless they have very great understanding of spirit, WM require according to your time, a long period of rest before they awake to the world of spirit. There are those among you so steeped in orthodoxy, that you cannot accept that all that is necessary is to awake. The belief in heaven, hell, judgement and purgatory are so strong that the mind insists on placing itself in these kind of conditions, conditions which are a figment of the imagination. For hell and heaven and purgatory as such do not exist. They are something which each of us manufactures for ourselves. There are no halls of judgement, the judge is yourself, as you look back and see the record of your own actions you yourselves begin to realize, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a very very long time what is needful to bring your lives into balance. There are those who refuse to accept what you would call dead, they are the earthbound. Those who remain close to the places they have either loved or hated or feared and need to be released, need to be shown that earth is not the place to cling to. But once again we cannot compel, we can only help, we can only seek to restrain those who seek to do harm to you upon earth.
There are many on this side of life who dedicate their whole time, their whole lives to assisting not only mankind but the animal kingdom also. Those whom you slaughter, those whom you torture to death require care and love and understanding upon their entry, their re-entry into the world of spirit. But the actual experience of death is trivial, it is what leads up to it that men fear. For death itself is merely the opening, passing through and then closing of a door, it is very very simple. Those who take their own lives, often with the desire to end life completely receive a twofold shock when they come to this side of life; when they realize that the problems they sought to escape from are still there, still a burden to be borne. For always, whatever the problem, whatever the fear, it is better to turn and to face it than try to hide from it, try to escape. For once the problem has been created either for you or by you, then it is yours to solve, to overcome. One cannot escape by running away and suicide is just that, it is a running away. There are cases of course where the mind itself has become unhinged and that being is no longer capable of rational thought. They too require help, much help and much rest when they come to us upon this side. But there are those among you who always have known that life continues, who realize both the simplicity and the inevitability of death. There are many among you who would welcome it as a cessation of pain and suffering and who will awaken because you understand. There are those who have indeed communicated within minutes or hours of their passing, others who although their presence is sought and their communication desired, spend many many of your years on this side of life before. they feel either the inclination or the ability to do so. The reactions are as legion as mankind.
Seeking Truth
Question. What is the purpose of seeking truth.
The purpose. The purpose of seeking truth is to fulfil the spiritual awakening, to become more and more aware of the God Spirit within you. To make manifest the kingdom of God around you and upon this earth plane. The kingdom of God is not something merely to be looked forward to, it is within you as an individual and seeking truth is part of developing this kingdom, of bringing it forth. Without truth what is life? For unless you understand truth, you cannot understand yourselves or each other. But truth is not something to be taught, it is something to be found within yourselves. To be true to yourself is the first depth of understanding, of comprehending that which to the closed mind is incomprehensible. The mysteries of life upon earth, the mystery of God Itself that, gives life, these are truths to be sought, but only to be found within yourselves as individuals. The purpose of finding truth is that truth makes you better able to be a being following the will of the God Spirit.
The God Spirit has given you life and asks only that you seek to fulfil the laws laid down by this Creator of life, that you seek to serve each other and to serve the will of God. Jesus said: 'Seek you first the kingdom of God and the truth within that kingdom and all else shall be added unto you'. Seek not the material, except in so far as you have sufficient to enable you to live, but seek rather the wider treasure, the treasure of the spirit, the treasure of truth. Only thus shall you, each of you find peace within your souls, shall you find harmony and unity one with the other and that will expand your own understanding of life. It will bring joy to your hearts and peace to your minds, for you shall know, that to know yourselves is to begin to know others and in that beginning to know one loses fear, for fear is born of the unknown, the unfamiliar. That is why it is important that dialogue continue between the nations, that you move among each other, that you learn foreign cultures. You do not have to live by them but on this earth there is room for so much, room for different ways of living, room for different cultures, for different understanding. But an interchange of them between the nations is always to be desired, for it promotes understanding and once you cease to fear each other you will learn to love and no longer seek to destroy. Too often truth, not only the spiritual truth but the truth about each other, the truth about nations is hidden behind a cloud of fear. You cannot fear if you understand and only by listening, by sharing, will man come to this greater, wider understanding between the nations.

May I my friends thank all of you for your most interesting questions and may I express the hope that in the answers you have found some degree of satisfaction. My thanks and my love go to you and now if you will bear with me I will offer a prayer to the God Spirit.
O Spirit of Life and of Truth, You who are all understanding, all compassion and all love. Instil into the hearts of these Your children, the knowledge of Your power within them, the knowledge that all they need is to ask and understanding shall be given. For You are Father/Mother to us all, You embrace us with Your love, You uplift us with Your arms. Let each one learn how best to place their foot upon the sacred path of life, the pathway of spirit. May they live their lives upon this earth to the best of their ability, may they sow only seeds of love and of light, that the harvest when they come into the world of spirit may be wonderful great, abundant beyond their belief. O Father, keep their minds in the knowledge of light, that truth may be apparent to them, that they may come into the reality of Thy kingdom knowing that they both seek and do Thy will. May the blessing of the God Spirit be upon you as you journey home, may you carry with you the light of love and the expression of compassion.
