I salute you, I give you greetings. My friends, this evening I will be brief to allow a greater time for your questions, since I feel this to many of you is the most important part of our meeting.

When I lived upon this earth there was a time of great conflict, a time of upheaval throughout the known world. A time of tyranny, of poverty, of ignorance and fear, but throughout that darkness, throughout that fear there came a shaft of, light, a voice of hope, a teacher who gave to man a greater understanding of the meaning of life and of the presence of God. Because this man’s words have since become closed with mans' impression of them, rather than of the truth they gave, does not diminish in any way the message or its meaning. This earth is moving still through darkness and through fear, but it is moving on always and onwards towards a place of light, of greater understanding. Throughout the earth there are many places where truth is most sought and found, for truth is not confined to any one belief or any one nation. There are many ways in which one comes to the God Spirit's understanding. You have found the truth that life continues, that it is a circle growing wider and wider as you become more aware of spirit, more aware of God, the God who lies within you.

In ancient times it was thought always that the god or gods was confined to one particular nation and that that nation could call upon their gods for vengeance, for assistance in warfare and that their god was concerned with them and with them alone. Now man - speaking generally - has come to a better understanding of the meaning of God, although still among you there are those who believe that their particular god is for them alone. To fight their fight and live their lives for them; I tell you, this is not so. There is but one God, the Creator of light, the Creator of truth, the Creator of law and that God by whatever name you call It, by whatever faith you profess, is not for you or me or any one of us alone, but for all mankind, for the all the living creatures. Understanding this you must consider the beliefs of others, you must come to realize and to tolerate that your way is not the way for all men, until they too your level or pass your level of understanding. Many of the religions upon this earth today, are blinded by their own ritual, by their own dogma, by their own need to be right. Each and every one of us will come in time to the full understanding both of our own divinity and of the meaning of life. Each of us will find our own road, our own way to the kingdom of the God Spirit. Because another feels differently, because they call themselves by a different name, belong to a different nation, does not mean that they cannot also find the way to truth. Truth is not confined to one ideal, to one belief.

If you could look upon the whole of mankind as we on this side of life are able to do, you would appear to be running round and round in circles within your mind, varying religions professing we have the one true God, only we are chosen, only we shall find salvation. And what indeed is salvation? Salvation and the kingdom of God lies within ourselves, for we alone can accept responsibility for our own, lives, both upon earth and on this side of life. The veil between the so-called two worlds is very fine. Each of you was born into this earth and each of you will leave it and return to the world of spirit, which indeed is the only concrete world, it is the only world which is not continually changing. 'You move from sphere to sphere and those spheres are constant. They are not riddled with warfare or with fear, or with the inhumanity which man carries upon this earth. So many professing to be human beings have not yet even reached the level of the sub-human species. When we look upon man and see what torment, what fear is imposed upon his fellows in the name of religion, in the name of perhaps a nation. People torn apart, destroyed because of mans' greed and lack of understanding. Nation fighting within nation, nations fighting each other; for what? The land you possess, the nation you call your own is only borrowed, for none can own earth, except the mind that created it. My brother Crazyhorse, whom you know as Manyomin spoke when upon earth so truly: 'You cannot sell the land upon which the people walk, you cannot sell the land for you do not own it. All earth belongs to the Great Spirit and to the Great Spirit only'.

Send out your thoughts to those who dwell in darkness and even more to those who create it, to those who seek to prey upon their fellow beings, for those who seek power, when power belongs to God alone. Power for its own sake is useless, worthless and those who rise to power on the blood of their brethren shall in the course of time, fall and sink within it. Learn to give true love to your brethren, to rise above the difficulties which every one of us knows upon earth, to carry your faith in God and the light before you, that your lives may so shine that they illuminate the way, the pathway to understanding. Not just for yourselves alone, but for all those whom you love and all those who have not yet found the truth. That they seeing your light shall wish to know its reason, that you may be enabled to sow again the seed of truth and to give light where there is darkness and hope where there is despair. For this earth has before it a time of light, a time when much shall be revealed and man shall once more return to the God Spirit.

That is so.

When you send out a thought it is almost a concrete thing. Many many years ago the guide and healer who used the father of this medium said very truly, that if you think something, think a deed, you think and meaning it, not in a joking way, that you could destroy another being, then as far as your karma is concerned the deed is accomplished. Thoughts are indeed things, they can be destructive but as we have told you so often they also are constructive. The thoughts are released upon the ether into space and they can never be rescinded; this is a fact, something to ponder upon. And the reason, as many of you will have heard me say before, that my brother who very few of you will know - Fu - said: ‘Do not merely think before you speak' - he was speaking upon the way that words can destroy. ‘Do not merely think before you speak, but learn my friends to think before you think, for thoughts can never be recalled'.

The power of thought is virtually limitless, the power of thought is a weapon, a weapon to be used with care, for thoughts are double-edged, but used as it should be used this weapon is a thing of power, a thing of substance. The thoughts which you give out for healing, for light, for enlightenment, thoughts of love, not merely for one individual, for earth and its contents. Thoughts of love you send to those who have gone beyond and to the God Spirit Itself. These thoughts are gathered together, unified and in that unification they gain an even greater strength. Thoughts are things and remain within the orbit of earth. They can be recalled but never rescinded. They are something of which we are immediately aware, as we are aware of your thoughts or your words of prayer. Ensure then that the thoughts you give out will create not darkness but light, that they will be thoughts of beauty. Thought is true magic, control your thoughts and you will control your lives.

Suffering

We are not justifying. Much of the suffering upon earth has been created by man himself, by greed, by lack of understanding, by his misuse of the environment in which he dwells. As you - mankind - gain greater understanding, so will the suffering of what you call the third world diminish. That suffering could be extinguished if each and every one within the so-called civilized world became concerned, forgot the needs to continually make profit and concerned themselves with the hunger, the need of their brethren. Whenever you appear to have what you call a major disaster, then many among you, the generous hearted, rush to give aid, to help. It is not this sudden burst of conscience that is needed, but the continuing caring, not merely financially, but that you who have compared to them a life of roses, should give of your thoughts, of your time and of your love.

We do not condone or justify suffering, but many of these people have indeed chosen this particular role in this particular incarnation. Not always as a punishment, sometimes that they may be in a position where they can give to their fellow beings. Some have chosen this way to, as they believe, atone for miseries which they have in the past inflicted upon others. Until man understands that, God does not demand sacrifice., but only penitence for that which may have been misguided upon earth. Each one of you must make your karma whole and balanced., but there is very little to be achieved by forcing yourselves into a position of suffering. So many have not gained the understanding of the true meaning of karma, of cleansing it, but gradually as I have said, when man comes into a wider understanding, then the suffering will die out. The understanding that each one of you is indeed your brother's keeper.

Question. May I ask a follow-up question on thoughts. When we realize that a lot of misguided people in times of war are sending thoughts of hatred to the warmongers instead of sending light to the area; we have been told that thoughts stay in the ether and as you explained we cannot recall them. Does that not perpetuate more wars and more hatred. What can we do.

Truly light must in the fullness of time overcome the darkness and overcome these dark thoughts of hatred, which indeed as you have said are misguided and do not, encourage peace within the world. They do in fact rebound so often upon the senders. It is a great sadness to us on this side of life when we see those who upon earth have been misguided, evil you would say, criminal, warmongers., torturers. Some of course remain in darkness because they have not yet learned that there is light. But others seek to redress the wrong they have done, they try to struggle forth from the darkness which they have built around them, only to be beaten back by the thoughts of hate which rise from this earth. I cannot stress too often or too much the necessity to forgive. In the prayer which Jesus gave to you it is said: 'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us'. It is a rule to live by, not merely a prayer.

To send out thoughts of revenge or retribution, revulsion, harms not only those to whom they are sent but the sender also. We wish the thoughts which you give. to be thoughts of light and of love. To imagine them encompassing, surrounding, hemming-in an the darkness which has been poured-out upon earth from the beginning of time. You cannot destroy these thoughts or this darkness, but you can surround it in light. You can, as it were, place it where it can no longer harm. It is only by love, by the thoughts of love and when I speak of love I mean a warmth, a light which shines forth upon this earth, which knows neither hurt nor pride, but is always there, always giving as God the [our] Father gives to us. So too must you in turn give forth that gift of love.

Drug Addiction

Question. Good evening. There are so many young people in our world today who are addicted to drugs. Is there any way we can help and can and will spirit help us to help them.

As you know we always are willing to help, but the cry for help must come from you upon earth. We cannot step-in, we cannot override your own desires, your own thoughts, we cannot prevent you, no matter how much we may wish to do so from treading a wrong path. It comes back my friend to the law of the God Spirit, which gives man, indeed which gives all life freedom, freedom of action, freedom of thought. To help these young beings who are addicted to the drugs which appear initially to lift them from the drudgery of life, one must first reach into their mind, into their spirit. Show them that there are many other ways of inducing this same sense of euphoria, that without drugs, through meditation one can reach the levels of understanding far beyond that which is produced by the drugs they have taken. Do remember that you can only help those who desire to be helped, for the others all you can do is to try to imprint your own mind, your own thoughts upon their aura, that they may be influenced to seek a better way; to leave behind the fear and eventually the pain and the death which these drugs bring with them. Education is so important, not the education received in your schools or even in your universities, but education, information as to the meaning and purpose of life.

Many of these who become addicted, believe not in the God Spirit, but that life upon earth is all there is, that at the moment of death life ceases. Whereas in fact life merely is beginning at this point. On cannot force another being either to understand or to desire to understand your own way of thought. But if you can move among these young, showing by the way you are, by your words, your gestures, your handling of them, your lack of fear, then they may seek to know further of your ideas, of your views. And even though they may not at first appear to make impact, if the seed shall have been sown and in the time to come win blossom forth. It is the minds of these young that you must seek to turn, to give them something better in life than what they have known. It is a fact that many of these who strayed from the path of understanding have come not from the poorest, but from the richest families within your nation. They should be of a level of intelligence which will accept your words, but not all will be, there will be opposition and ridicule. If you can withstand that, then the example which you set will be of great assistance to those who are struggling to give-up what has become an almost impossible habit.

Healing always is of assistance, both in a physical and in a spiritual manner. But what you must remember too is that although I have said you are indeed your brother's keeper and that you must be aware of the need of those around you, you also must allow them their freedom of choice. If they are choosing to destroy themselves through drugs then you cannot compel them to do otherwise. You can send thoughts of healing, you can send thoughts of sympathy and of love, but you cannot compel another being to think or to act as you do. You cannot compel another being to believe what you believe. Each one is individual, each one has freedom to choose.

Decision Making

Question. Sometimes decision making is quite a difficult thing and in trying to make a decision between two courses of action the mind can take us round and round in circles. When we get into this kind of situation what is the best way to get out of it.

Meditation. Meditation to many is a great mystery and many believe that the only way to meditate is to sit as do the yogis of India, in a cross-legged position, still as the sphinx. This is not so, it is possible to meditate while moving around, while preparing a meal, bathing, walking to work, there is no limit to meditation. Meditation is a silence within yourself, the silence in which is heard the voice of the God Spirit, again I quote: 'Be still and know that I am God'. That voice within each one of us, is the voice of truth, the voice of conscience, the voice of understanding. If you learn, whatever you are doing or saying, if you learn to separate yourself, the inner part of you, then that part can hear and know this voice within, can develop and move along the spiritual path. All these things are forms of meditation. Some find that to sit quietly by themselves they can meditate and this is the better way, but for others they will meditate whilst moving about their own particular domain. They will learn how to shut away the noises of earth and to concentrate upon the sound of music, which is the voice of God and which will never tell you false. Listening to this sound, this voice,, this love, you will feel overshadowed and overcome. Nevertheless, that great power of life is yours' to call upon, yours to rely upon, knowing that no matter how often you are misunderstood upon earth, no matter how often your words are misquoted, your beliefs ridiculed, yet here on this side of life., the light of the God Spirit awaits you. You cannot be destroyed, the word of God is yours. Truth is yours and understanding; go forth, hold this candle of light for all men to see, through prayer, through meditation you have found the answers which you seek. If only you will open the ears within you and hear this voice of the God Spirit.

Overshadowing

[Question. This question was difficult to hear and in an accent I was not well attuned to, but Marcus did not seem to have any difficulty in understanding. It deals with overshadowing].

Overshadowing is very different, not very different but different from what I am doing now. I speak to you because I have changed places with the medium. She has been removed from this body and I for the time being have borrowed it, in order that I may use this organ in order to speak and communicate with you. When either a medium or an individual such as yourself is overshadowed, it means merely that one, either their own guide or a power from this side of life seeking to help and enlighten them, has entered the auric field. Do you understand? And, is giving an impression, an imprint upon a receptive mind. I would point-out that we are only able to influence, to overshadow in this manner, one whose inner desire is to receive. You cannot be either entranced or overshadowed unless you yourself desire it. Sometimes it is a conscious desire and other times something which comes from deep within yourself and signals a need.

All truth, all light comes from the mind, the mind of God, which is the Creator. But always it will not be so much an attuning-in to that power, when you feel the overshadowing it is an, what you would call, an entity of spirit, a soul who is endeavouring to communicate and to assist you. But when you consciously sit and' tune yourself outwards, when the thought comes from within out, what you then receive back, will be a power direct from the Creator, The Spirit of Life. Can you understand the difference? Because that is something which you yourself have generated. This feeling of power, the yogis call it the kundilini, the sleeping snake. Something which rises from within, but the overshadowing comes from without.

Question. Could I ask you, do you have any desire to return to the physical and to walk this earth plane again.

I myself no, not at this present time. I have on many occasions returned to earth in a physical manner as most of you here present have also done. In my last term upon earth, I learned a great deal both about myself and about the reason for being. Something which had many times escaped me before, if it was necessary I would return; necessary in order to help mankind. But the task I have undertaken is that of teaching, of learning here on this side of life, from our own great shining teachers, words which I can convey to earth and which certainly carry more weight whilst I remain in spirit than they would do if I were present upon earth in the flesh. The education of mankind is very necessary, not education in a physical sense, but rather education of the spirit, that he shall learn to look and find the laws of the God Spirit and having found them, seek and learn how best to obey them. For the laws of God were not made to restrict, but to enhance the lives of men, to make each and every one aware of his fellow beings. The reasons for returning to earth are basically either to learn a lesson, to fulfil a task, to serve those of lesser understanding than oneself. But as you progress spiritually, so it becomes less and less necessary to come back in order to learn and more and more needful to come back to teach others or to serve in some other way. But as we go even further through the spheres we find there are other ways to learn and other ways to serve than returning in a physical manner to earth.

My brother, from long experience I can tell you this is not effective. In the time when I last lived upon earth, men were crucified for just such crimes and my people the Romans were adept at this method of execution. I have seen crosses, not one or two, but by the hundred lining the roadway, but it did not stop men stealing, it did not stop them robbing, it did not stop violence. Because always within the heart of man, within the mind of man is this thought, I am too clever, I shall not be caught, this only happens to others. Quite apart from this . I would say to you, life is given by the God Spirit, it is a gift which can only come from the Spirit of Life. Man cannot create spirit and should not therefore send forth spirit from its physical environment. Not only from a purely practical point of view do you send an ignorant, misguided or you may even say evil spirit forth with a greater feeling of resentment against the rest of mankind. And you release that soul to a place where it will have even greater power to seduce and to destroy others still upon earth. Not only this, consider the hangman who may be carrying-out the laws of man, but is certainly breaking the laws of the God Spirit. Thou shalt not kill.

My brother, to drive another soul out from the body is in the eyes of God, murder. Protect yourself, but it is not necessary to kill. I am not speaking now of your large scale wars, but of the killing of individuals, of the brutalization of the one who kills. I realize looking at your thoughts that I will not convince you, but I would urge you to try to look from our point of view. Drug addiction and murder, these are terrible things, terrible crimes and those who perpetrate them must be restrained, but restrained and given the opportunity to rectify themselves. Educate, teach, give light. We do not speak of condoning such crimes, but you have a saying that two blacks cannot make a white, two rights will make a greater right and two wrongs a greater wrong. Therefore in whatever field try always not to reduce your own level of understanding and intelligence and love, but rather to raise-up those who are lower to your own level. But my brother, execution defeats its own object.

Epilogue

I too my friends would thank you for your love and for your questions and if you will bear with me, I will very briefly close with a prayer.

O Father of light and love, You who has understanding of each one of us, who see us as Your family, but also as individuals. Grant that each one here present, may come to a greater understanding of Thy love and of Thy laws. That they may be guided by truth, that they may come into the light of Thy love, that they may find Thy kingdom within their hearts. That they may carry it with them at the hour of their passing into the light of Thy presence. Walk with them and uplift them, guide them as only You can do and let them know ever and always that they do not walk alone. All praise and all love be to Thee, our thanks always.
