May the God Spirit be with you, I give you greetings.
My friends, it is as always with great pleasure that we come to you. Tonight I win be brief, but I wish to speak to you on the importance of faith. Too often we speak lightly about believing, believing each other. believing what we read, what we are told, believing things that have been told for generations. There are times when it is necessary to question, not because of disbelief but because what has always been or appears to be does not necessarily remain true. If man does not question,, then he can never learn. It is by query, by delving beneath the surface that we discover anew, that we find truth. That does not diminish the importance of belief , the importance of faith. For we need faith to accompany our belief. It is not always easy to prove what we believe. We return to you from the world of spirit and we know that we exist, but we cannot prove our existence, not beyond doubt. There are many who believe that the medium, the instruments which we use, are either fraudulent or self-deluded. We cannot say to such ones: I am, I know that I am, because even if they were confronted with us in solid form, they would not believe. There are those totally the opposite, who without' question believe everything they see and everything they hear; take all at its face value. This my friends is equally wrong. Each one of you has a mind, a brain which should be used in order to sort that which is reasonable from that which is utterly foolish.
You have been given the power of understanding; you have chosen to search for truth. The importance of faith lies in the certainty that you will find it, that the truth is there, that it is there for you to discover. You take on faith much that occurs to you within your daily lives. There are so many things which you are. told which cannot be proved. Your scientists tell you that it is such and such a distance from earth to the moon, from earth to the sun, but has anyone taken a measure and checked this. It is a calculation which many win say is accurate, but many years ago, certainly when I lived upon the earth, man believed the earth to be flat, believed that if one moved too far across its surface one would disappear over the edge. Now you are told the earth is round, and indeed because of your modern technology you can see that it is so. But those who first put forward this theory needed strength to uphold their belief and so it is that I tell you whenever there comes to you a new theory, a new thought, it takes strength not only to believe it but to pursue it., and as far as you can to prove it to yourselves.
It needed faith to discover the radio waves which bring sound across the air to you; to bring the pictures of your television. It needs faith to pursue a new cure for your diseases; it needs also my friends, imagination. Imagination which is part of the finite mind. If you cannot imagine, you cannot believe, you bury your head in the sand of ignorance, but with faith, faith in the unknown you will be guided by the light of truth. The great teachers of the past, those who came to earth to help and to teach mankind, had faith in the knowledge that the God Spirit did indeed exist. That the power of God was not a figment of the imagination, but a fact and their faith in that knowledge brought light to earth. The beginning of truth, the beginning of understanding which lifted the curtain of ignorance from the minds of man. But if you would pursue that truth, then you must have faith, not only in those who teach, not only that God exists but in yourselves and in your own integrity.
My friends, man has the power to bring light to this earth, the power to bring peace, the power to bring hope out of despair. I trust and believe that there are not merely a few but many throughout this earth, who will have the faith and the courage to make this so. To end the darkness of ignorance, to end tyranny, to end misunderstanding. And to open this earth to the glory of the kingdom of the God Spirit where there is no fear, where their is no warfare. When man has the faith and the trust to truly love each other. To know that love means trust, to know that love of ones neighbour, love of the God Spirit, is the solution to the problems of man and even wider to the problems of earth. May each one of you find this faith within yourselves, and having found it share it with all who have the ears to listen.
A Call for Help
Question: When we receive a spirit call for help, which is the best way to reply, to it?
A clairaudient call?
Yes.
My friend merely to clarify this, do you mean a call from one in the spirit world for a person still on earth?
I don't know. To a person still on earth.
Indeed, a call which you call clairaudient can be telepathy from a person living still upon this earth plane, or from one here who sees the need for help. Do you understand me? And again from one in the spirit world who needs help. There are three distinct possibilities, but to each one I would say to you: firstly, you must ask and be sure who is calling, do you understand? And the reason because merely help is difficult to reply to. Do you understand? Therefore you will send in return your thoughts, asking is it healing, is it rescue and so forth. The power of your thoughts will always give aid. Do you understand? It does not necessarily need to be physical. Although, of course, in certain circumstances that will be an advantage. But whatever the call for the request your thought has unlimited power. This I know is again a question of your faith because it is very difficult whilst still upon earth to abbreviate your thoughts power, because it is not always possible to visualize the result, but the power of thought is limitless. If we could bring together everyone upon earth who has a true desire to bring healing, to bring peace, the results would be unimaginable. So your first response will be to uncover the reason for help, and then to concentrate your mind upon that persons problem.
Atlantis
[Question: On karma. In relation to the person who destroyed Atlantis and others who have to, as it would appear, do evil for good].
Always throughout the history of earth, the history of life, there have been many such problems. Perhaps not on quite such a vast scale, but nevertheless decisions which had to be made and are made within the scope of that particular person's knowledge and interpretation of fact. As you say it is indeed wrong to destroy physical existence. You cannot in effect take life because life is eternal, it goes on. The decision made by this person, whether to destroy a little of humanity or to allow it to destroy completely the physical part of earth, as it would have happened. Do you understand me?
When you speak of this man, and you are assuming it is a man; of this person's karma, remember that on this side of life we do not judge, but in removing the burden of karma, such a person would have been given advice from those with a greater vision. Also remember always that motives are taken into consideration, and the motive, as you have said was good. Remember too that by this action this person sacrificed not only themselves but all those with whom they felt kinship and love. Also, the extent of this apparent disaster was not fully foreseen. Do you see?
This crystal which had almost limitless power caused a far greater devastation that even one of understanding could have imagined. To compare them with your modern problems, I would say that when man used his technology to develop explosives, it could not have been imagined how the discovery would have built up until you split the atom and produced nuclear fission. Nor could the dropping of one bomb have been believed to cause the devastation, not only the physical loss of life, but the after effects, the irreversible damage to the atmosphere. What history should have told man, is that each time you develop a weapon to end war, you create the possibility of even greater terror and wider devastation. War will not end war. And the destruction of that crystal, although it preserved earth, did not end the greed of man, did not teach him that only for wisdom should knowledge be used. The person who destroyed Atlantis, saved earth and its future generations. The burden of karma that it carried has been in large part smoothed away, but the sorrow and if you like, the punishment - although we do not use that word - lies in seeing that even through that sacrifice, man still has not learned wisdom.
Don't be Afraid
Question: What advice would you give to somebody, who rather late in life, is beginning to take an interest in Spiritualism, and is somewhat confused and maybe a little afraid; somebody who is in their mid-eighties.
A wonderful time to believe. Firstly, I would say whatever the age, to anyone whether investigating or developing, remember there is nothing on this side of life which can come to you either to teach, to help or from the other dimension to frighten or to harm you unless you allow it to do so. If you desire to contact, then there are always those who one way or another will be willing to come to help, to show you, to teach you. But if at any time there is uncertainty, as to the origins of those who come, then all you need to do, is with conviction and in the name of the God Spirit, to tell them, no. Go, I do not trust you. Do you understand?
Instil in this person the necessity to at all times be in control of themselves and their own situation. There is no need to fear, because anyone who investigates in the right spirit searching for truth, searching for light, will attract those of the light to them. Do you follow me? When we choose our instruments, our. mediums, in order to communicate with you, then sometimes we do test them, we win bring others who are not of the light in order to ensure that they are aware of the difference. But to an - not an ordinary person, because none of you are ordinary, everyone is individual, but - a person who merely seeks to discover for themselves the truth behind this movement, they would not be subjected to such an ordeal. Do you understand?
Tell this person that when they seek truth and seek light, that that is what they will receive. Tell them, reassure them that passing from this earthly world into the next stage of existence is nothing to fear, it is merely a passing through one doorway into another room. There is one lady who does not publicly speak, but does come through my medium, who said that after suffering a long and painful illness upon this earth, dying was the happiest day of my life; and this was a person who had very little prior knowledge. She had a faith of her own, but not knowledge of Spiritualism, and was amazed when she passed from the earthly body to find a host of friends waiting, calling and helping her across. This is what death is all about. And this my brother Manyomin would tell you, always to remember, as did his people the Sioux, ‘that a good day to live is a good day to die', because death does not exist. Life is what death is all about. Renewed life and reunion with those who have trodden the road before you. Death is not to be feared, not to be mourned, for it is a new beginning and those who come to you from this side of life, come to reassure you that it is so. Let this person be sure, that there is no fear but comfort in the knowledge which they will find.
It is not truly the fear of death, but rather the manner of it and that is a physical and a natural fear. But I ten you, as one who as undergone this process and many of you also if you could remember have died on numerous occasions, but the moment of death is nothing. Truly, nothing. It is what leads up to it that you fear. We would if we could dispel all your fears, but know that when the time comes, there will be many hands outstretched to help you, to greet you, to enfold you with their love.
Epilogue
And now my friends, if you will bear with me, I will close with a prayer, a prayer used in mine own time but which is still relevant to your modern times.
O light which gives forth the radiance to earth, light of love, light of being, light of power, You who are the Father, the Mother of all life, let Thy life fill the lives of those who come to Thee, let Thy light encomfort their movements as the sun moves across the sky, so let them move onwards towards the goal of reunion with Your light. May they be given the understanding, the realization that Your life, Your light, Your power pervade an things, that the earth is Yours because You gave it life, that life continues ever and ever onwards. That our daily round is but a small beginning, that each and every moment of our time must be lived to the full and lived within Your law, created not to restrict but to free mankind from superstition and from fear. May the minds of men clarify Your thoughts within them, may they be uplifted, may they come to the realization that the manifestation of Your kingdom lies within their power, within themselves to create. May each one dwell in peace and in love within the shadow of Your wings and may Your wings uplift them at the time of passing. Carry their minds and their hearts into the kingdom which You have built, and may the light they have created be for them sustenance on their journey from one life into the new life. May they walk in peace and in tranquillity knowing that they do not walk, except with You; the power of light, the power of love which is creation. May God be with you all, now and always. Move forward into light, knowing that the path you tread is sacred, for it is the path not merely of faith but of reality.
