May God be with you, I give you greetings.My friends, in this life, this earth life it is often said that some are born with luck and others among you without it. There seems always to be a great disparity not only between nations, but between those varying classes of society within each nation. From the beginning of time there have always been differences, within clans, within tribes, within nations, within religion. But in one thing each and every one of you has equality, the power of spirit. None can take away from you the ability, if you so desire, to develop the spirituality within you. You do not all of course have the same psychic gifts, but all too often these are confused with spirituality. There are those who know nothing at all about the power of spirit, refuse to accept the existence of the Creator, but who nevertheless have the power to see, to hear, if not to understand the world of spirit. But each of you has within you, this part of the God Spirit which has given to you life. Each of you has the ability to choose, to decide whether you follow the laws of the God Spirit, whether you seek to find knowledge and truth, to be aware of spirit and of the spiritual pathway which leads you onwards towards the goal of light and understanding; or whether you choose to follow the path of materialism. To content yourself with the riches of this earth plane, with that which is manmade, rather than that which is given to you freely by the god who created you, who gave you life and who offers you love.
All too often, those who choose the path of light are termed foolish, they're spoke of always having their heads in the clouds, of being unworldly. To five upon this earth one must of course follow also the rules of earth, but keep a balance, learn what is truly of value. Those things - the things of the spirit - which you can take with you throughout your lives, the gifts of spirit, the understanding which you seek, the guide which you will find and the truth which you can be given, these can never be parted from you. Even as you pass from this earth into the world of spirit, those gifts you will carry with you. As also you WW take the lessons you have learned, your joys, your sorrows, they are there with you. But the things of earth you must perforce leave behind you. And what indeed does materialism profit you. Maybe bodily comfort, maybe the acclamation of your fears, but will it gain anything for you in the world of spirit. For in passing here, you leave behind not only the material goods you have acquired but also the, acclaim of mankind. For what is of account her on earth means very little in the world of spirit. Here each one is recognized by the light or lack of it, that he or she brings with them. The love which you have given upon earth, the desire to bring together those who oppose each other, to make peace, to be humble, to seek always to assist others less fortunate than yourself, not necessarily in a material manner, but in the way which the majority of the great teachers gave to us. The way of healing, the way of giving comfort and courage and best of all hope and the knowledge of the continuity of life. The understanding that whatever we may suffer whilst upon earth is of little consequence on passing to this world of light, and of truth.
My friends, as many of you will know, we in this spirit world do not judge, we seek only to give you help and guidance; to make smooth your pathway whenever or wherever we can. But I will say as many have said before me, you must understand that you are here to live your lives, we cannot live them for you, we can only advise and guide. But the choice of your pathway is always your own.
The path of understanding, of spiritual unfoldment, the path of light is not an easy one to follow. I would not deceive you by telling you that it was, but it is worthwhile, for at the end of it you have acquired much, not only knowledge but light. Light with which you filled your dwelling on this side of life, light which will not diminish but goes right on the farther onward that you travel.
My friends, there are too many upon this earth seeking only that which is of advantage to themselves. They little know of the darkness they are building here. This earth has come to much grief through man, intolerance of his brethren. Through his desire always to be first, to have the best, to gain the greatest favour, to become a star in the eyes of his fellow beings. Jesus the Nazarene spoke well when he said: 'The first shall be last and the last first, he who be greatest among you, let him be the servant of all'. And I tell you, even though others may revile you, may ridicule you, may term you a fool, soft, stupid, allowing yourselves to be made use of; yet in the eyes of the Goo Spirit, those very ones among you who seek to serve, who seek to give, who may be taken advantage of, they are the shining light. It is those who misuse them, who carry the burden of karma. Understand and know that if you seek the will of the God Spirit, you will indeed be the servant of mankind.
The path of service is difficult, it means self-sacrifice, putting aside your own needs very often to fulfil the needs of others. Always be ready to give, to give my friends not in a material sense, but of yourselves, to give time, to give an ear which is ever ready to listen. To learn when to withhold and when to give. When to give of your knowledge and when advice would be difficult to accept. Be aware, of others, of their joy, of their sorrow, of their need for comfort and whenever you can, whenever one will listen, offer them the truth which you yourself have found. But spiritual understanding in not merely, not faith - not faith alone - but knowledge, certainty, knowing the truth, that life goes on and on and on in continuity. That death is not the final thing that many believe but is indeed a new beginning.
Nationalism, Racialism and Ethnic Cleansing
[Question. On national and racial strife].
I know what is happening upon this earth and it is sorrow to us in the world of spirit. Man must learn that the God Spirit did not separate land or people, man himself has achieved this. Do you understand? We are all - no matter what colour, what creed, what belief, what culture - in the sight of the God Spirit are equal; they are all part of creation. Many, many times, not only I but many have told man this. in the eyes of the Creator there is no distinction between people, between nations. All are born of the one great light. Do you understand? Only, when man becomes fully to understand this, that not only man, that life - all created life - is a part of the God Spirit, as the God Spirit is a part of you. You cannot no matter how much you try, separate yourself from this life. An men, all women, all nations are equal. It is the greed of man, the inability to tolerate others who think or feel or speak or look differently from oneself; it is this, this learning to be tolerant, learning to realize the unity of mankind, the unity of life upon earth that we wish to impart to you.
Ethnic cleansing, it is a despicable term and a despicable practice. It is contrary to the will of God and those who seek in the name of religion to destroy others who' do not think or believe as they do. They are guilty, very guilty of blasphemy against the Spirit of God. You cannot destroy life in the name of one who taught love; for throughout all the religions there is this spark of truth trough. orthodoxy, this spark of truth which teaches the oneness of God. And by what right does any one nation claim that God is theirs and theirs alone. You cannot co-exist, you cannot say that one piece of earth is yours and yours alone. As my brother Manyomin would tell you, the earth belongs to the Great Spirit, we are lent it, we are lent the land on which we dwell for the space of a particular lifetime.
Once man begins to realize the futility of attempting to destroy the physical or the bodily life, because he can only destroy the physical part of a being, for the innermost part of you - of all of us - is spirit and cannot die. This separation' within the nations is an evil and man is not ready, or too many among you are not yet ready to learn the truth and live as you should, in peace and in love one with the other.
Wealth and Fame
[Question. On the pursuit and accumulation of wealth].
We are not speaking here of using wealth for living but of acquiring it for its own sake. Do you understand? There are too many who make the acquisition of material wealth, of material goods into their graven image, their god. This is what is meant when it is said you cannot serve God and Mammon also. As your world stands today in your present civilization you use money, the coin of the realm, to purchase that which will keep you alive, that which will keep you housed and that with which you can assist others. There is no evil in that but acquiring for its own sake and beyond what is necessary for your ordinary life, this is when it becomes a fetish, when it becomes the ultimate goal and when men become willing to tread upon the lives of others if only to acquire it; that is the evil. It was said, not that money in itself is the root of all evil - something which is often misquoted - but that the love of money is the root of evil and this is true, do you understand?
Further question. What about fame?
Of what use is fame? Fame usually is acquired through, what?
Further comment by questioner - inaudible.
Yes, but you see this shows the shallowness of mankind because there are many among you who have great knowledge, great spiritual knowledge but because you are not perhaps a star in the eyes of the young, of the old also, no one listens, you are counted a nobody. This is very wrong thinking. I am not blaming those who become famous, it is not always of their seeking. Again there are those who seek to make a name for themselves for its own sake, for the glory It brings to them. There are many kinds of fame, there are those who are humble, become known because of their work for mankind, those who devote their lives to the service of others and perhaps after their passing become famous because of it. There are those who seek merely the fortune and the lifestyle which fame brings to them but there are people like the nun, the woman you know as Mother Theresa, that is fame which is borne of light.
Giving to Others
[Question. Asking clarification on giving to others].
No my brother, of course not, what I am saying is that all to often, when you are, I know my medium would say, ‘to seek to treat others, those around you, as you yourself would wish them to treat you.’ Do you understand? And they do not do so, and others will say, you are a fool but you must realize that it is not you who will suffer in the eyes of the God Spirit. You must of course, perhaps I did not put this clearly enough, realize when to give - I did say this - and when to withhold. It is not always good to give those who merely ask for the sake of asking, it is like allowing a child, everything it desires but what it desires is not necessarily what is right or what is good for it and those of you who seek the will of God, who seek to find truth, to give, to live according to the law of God will realize this. You do not give when giving would cause harm. The secret lies in, finding the wisdom to know how to live as you should, to give but to give with restraint. But even thus, there are those who are numbered among the self-seekers, who will as I said, laugh at you; call you a fool. They have no understanding but the loss is theirs.
Advice and Guidance
[Question. On asking for advice and guidance from the spirit world].
Certainly, if you ask. We are always ready to advise, to guide, to help but not ever to make your decision for you. Often we have to stand aside and see you make your own mistakes. We cannot compel you to tread the right path, we can point out to you that if you move in this direction that the likelihood will be such and such and so forth. But we cannot say to you, you must walk thus or thus or thus. You are here to learn, to guide - perhaps others who have less understanding than yourselves - maybe to complete a task that you have undertaken whilst yet in the world of spirit but most of all to gain knowledge, to learn from your own experience. And this is why I say, we cannot live your lives for you, much as sometimes we would like to because it is very hard to stand aside and see those that you care for making what you know will be a bad mistake, a wrong move. But you are responsible for your own lives, your own deeds, your own thoughts but never is help refused or advice withheld, provided you ask for it. It is the same with healing, we give freely always.
Moving on from this, another question we are often asked is, why when we pray do we not receive an answer. I tell you, every prayer that is uttered is heard and noted and answered. But prayers may not be answered in the way you feel they, should be. For again too often what you ask for, what you want is not necessarily right for you or for the one you pray for. To pray for one you love who is suffering and sick is a good thing but how should that prayer be framed? Save my loved whatever the cost, I cannot bear to be parted. These prayers we hear so often and my friends, hard as it may seem, prayers in those terms are not prayers for the one you love but prayers for yourselves. The way to pray is for an end of suffering. No matter how, if it be Your will then let my loved one stay with me, heal the pain, heal the physical body or the mental condition, make them well again. But if it be not possible, then let the end be swift that they may suffer no more and they live in the freedom of light and I shall not grieve but be' glad for them, for their rebirth, their renewed life and their reunion with those who have already gone. For I know that they will wait until I come; the form must be for the end of suffering, for the renewal of life.
Pray for peace, for the healing of this earth plane, for the end of warfare, for the wisdom of your leaders that they may be guided into a true way of light. These prayers we use to build the power of light. You may not always see the outcome but you cannot always measure the power of the healing you give but it is there, the light, the light which you have created. And to those among you who are healers I would say now, never despair. The medical men too lose their patients but you, even though one whom you seek to heal passes to this world of spirit, you cannot measure the amount of suffering which you have saved them. Sometimes the healing may have sped the passing because upon this side we know, we cannot always tell you but we can see and know whether a physical being can' be healed or no. Go on those of you who heal, those of you who seek knowledge and do not be disappointed. When you come to this side of life, you win be aware of the measure of help and of love which you have given.
False Justification for Violence
[Question. On violence and so-called peaceful intervention to quell violence, by means of further violence. Religious wars].
The knowledge [is] that the end does not justify such means. What you must realize is that no matter how well intentioned - although this is difficult to accept - an act may be, it is still against the laws of the God Spirit. Do you understand? Reverence for life in all its forms is an essential part of understanding the meaning of life and the mind of the God Spirit. Acts of violence, of terrorism, cannot truly be performed in the name of God, no matter by what name you call that God. Throughout the ages many terrible deeds have been committed in the name of religion and those who have committed them have had to come or many still will have to come to the realization of their misinterpretation of the laws of the Creator. Slaughter done in the name of religion is no more excusable than that done in the name of lust, of hatred, of jealousy. Those who commit such deeds are confused, they are creatures of darkness. Do you understand? They lay themselves open by their fanaticism to the influence of the darker forces upon this side of life and when they come here, until they come to the realization of what they have done in error, they will walk in the darkness.
Once they begin to question, once they begin, even begin to realize that they may be mistaken, then there are many willing hands to lift them up, to help them, to, help them realize and try to redress the wrong they have done. But each one upon this earth whether they be misguided, misled or of the light, each one of you must reap what you sow. That is the immutable law of the God Spirit; none can escape this law but again it is for you yourselves to decide how you can expunge such deeds of darkness, thoughts of evil from your karma. There is no punishment except that which you inflict upon yourselves. To each one there must be a working towards your own salvation. The Spirit of Light, the God Spirit, is all forgiving, all loving and all wise; but forgiveness does not absolve.
You, whatever the reason for your behaviour upon earth are the only one responsible, for once you even send out a thought it is recorded. You cannot withdraw a word, a thought, nothing can take back that which comes forth from you. It pays therefore to take care, not only with your words and with your deeds but with your thoughts also. Try always to think in light, that light may surround you, not only that light may protect you but that it may emanate from you, that others may feel it, may seek you out, perhaps not knowing way, that because here they feel the presence of life, the Spirit of God.
Mental Problems
[Question. On mental disorder and possession].
It is very difficult to explain to you upon earth, but a mental problem is still a physical one. Do you understand? It is a disorder of the brain which is a physical organ. Do you follow me? Within the physical frame are you and that spirit which is you remains intact despite the physical mental disorder. Can you follow me? I know it sounds very complicated, so therefore the brain may be disordered, but the spirit is not. [Here there is some coughing, for which the guide apologizes on behalf of the medium]. Sorry my medium is croaking. Often when one whom you feel is mentally suffering and violent, it can be, very often is, a case of possession. There are on this side of life, those dark forces, those dark beings, just as there are beings of light and they are as capable of entering the body of one who has psychic powers but lacks spiritual understanding. Just as I am able to use the body of this medium because there are many among you who have psychic ability without knowing it and one who is perhaps weakened by wrong living, by drugs, who perhaps attempts contact with the world of spirit in a stupid way, approaches it shall we say wrongly with the wrong motives entirely; they can be controlled by one of these darker beings. Well then you can say they were insane, which indicates a possession. Always I would emphasize that contact with the world of spirit should not be undertaken lightly. Development too should be carefully considered. There is no danger Providing you are aware within yourself that you need only say: ‘go’ [To the spirit].
Those of you who know us well, will have heard us many times say this, that if our medi [medium] were to come back now and say ‘get out' then I would have no choice but to leave. But these darker souls choose only the weak, only those who have no resistance, but nevertheless they are still held responsible. Because it was for them to say go. Within - I'm not speaking now of what you call mental disorders but - a crippled physical body, one who you would say is called autistic, unable to communicate but within the spirit remains aware, alert, frustrated perhaps, but nevertheless unaffected by its physical shell. Let us put it this way, if a being upon earth is taken suddenly sick, if they have a haemorrhage of the brain - what you call a stroke - they are unable to communicate, unable to move, unable to speak perhaps even unable to see or hear. Physical, but the spirit within is still aware of all that is around it, imprisoned temporarily within that physical body but nevertheless still alive and it is the same with a spirit which enters a body that is crippled or where the brain, the physical brain is impaired. Do try always to remember this, that whatever the physical condition the spirit is the same, the spirit will go on and the spirit is responsible to itself and to its Creator.
Homosexuality
[Question. On homosexuality. How does it occur].
Well my brother, it is a physical condition. It is an imbalance within the physical body, do you understand? which causes this problem. Many of you will know that it can be changed by injections or intakes of various substances - hormones, as you call them - it is an imbalance of this which causes this problem, this half, development. Do you understand? But as to the spirit deliberately entering, yes in some cases it can be because it can be a part of the karma. Just as, if you will remember of your years ago a gentleman here questioned freewill and that you chose when, where and how to be born, for I, he said would never have been born black, I would never have chosen to be born black. And it was my brother Marcus who said, but you did, and obviously did not enlarge, could not enlarge upon it but that particular person had chosen to be born black and into a community which made his life somewhat difficult because of his colour because previously he had been upon earth and had behaved very brutally as a slave trader. It was something which obviously could not be told to him in public but this was his reason, he was not sent here, he chose as some kind of penance to be born thus., And so it can be on occasions with those who choose to come back as homosexuals; that they have in past time persecuted. This doesn't mean, it is not an invariable rule that this is so, but you see often when a being comes to this side of life and realizes the hurt, the suffering that they had caused to other beings upon earth, then they will choose - they are not compelled to - to come back and to suffer in some measure the suffering which they themselves have previously caused.

The Next Sphere
[Question. On the spheres of the spirit world].
The spirit world is the next layer shall we say of the earth, the next sphere. There are many, many spheres, many planes on which we exist, as we progress so we go on. We too are learning and progressing just as are you upon earth, where in the beginning when man first evolved; remember that apart from those who have never dwelt upon earth, the servants of the Creator, whom you would call angels, messengers and we call the shining ones, those who inhabited the' spirit world were those who have been what you would call prehistoric man. They would not be that much wiser than those they had left behind upon earth. Gradually of course, they learned, they grew in spiritual stature and so the earth, the spirit world grew in light but initially those who were termed God were merely those who had gone before and had reappeared and this my sister accounts for the savagery of the early religions. And as man progressed and became more spiritually aware, became aware that the spirit who gave life was a spirit of love, to be worshipped, to be glorified but not to be feared, not to be sacrificed to.
Gradually as earth evolved, so did the world of spirit. We have learned much of the truth but there still remain many mysteries, there is always for all of us much to learn. The spirit world changes, enlarges and evolves and the earth is still evolving. We work towards perfection, towards making the kingdom of God manifest upon this earth, towards the end of warfare. We work towards a better use of mans' technology, we have said before that the men of science, with their technology have gained much, they have learned many of the secrets of nature, many of the secrets of evolution but unfortunately they have not yet found the wisdom to use them, to use them for benefit and benefit alone. All too often technology is used merely to provoke warfare, this we seek by our own development to abolish.
We are seeking, as are many of you upon earth to perfect a way of communication which will be absolutely unassailable, so that your men of science, your skeptics will no longer be able to say it is all in the mind, you hallucinate, this voice coming forth is merely another facet of the mediums personality. We are seeking to perfect a machine upon earth whereby it will be possible to link directly with the world of spirit. It will not be yet because when it is made manifest it must be perfect but it will come and mankind will begin to realize the truth which many of you have already found. The truth at which they have laughed because when they, say 'is there anybody there' in mockery, the answer will be, ‘yes, here I am'.
Epilogue
I thank you, you have been small in number but great in thought and your questions of interest not only to you but to others on this side who listen. Because you see it is not I alone who comes, there are those who are learning to communicate and it is always of interest for us to know what interests you. This is why we work in this manner because we know that in an audience there will be those who are new and those who have great knowledge and this way we hope that the evening will be of interest no matter what your state of belief or knowledge.
And now my friends, I thank you once again and will close with a prayer.
O God our Father, You who see all our problems, our difficulties and lack of understanding, guide each one of us towards Your pathway of truth, may the light of Your presence burst upon each one that they may see revealed the truth of Your love. May each one find their own pathway towards You, may they find, their lives upon earth of use, may they learn from every experience and may they never be afraid to turn back, to seek out a better way. May they never be afraid to admit their mistakes and may they be helped always along their way knowing that Your hand guides them and that there are those on this side of life always willing to listen, to help them bear their burdens. Father, open their eyes and let them see Your light, open their ears that they may hear Your voice, their hearts and their tongues that they may praise You. Let them dwell in peace and let them never be afraid, knowing that they have found the way of truth, the way that leads into Your kingdom and may they strive always to make that kingdom manifest upon this earth plane. May they go in peace, may they walk in safety, may they speak ever and always Your praise and Your truth.
