May God be with you, I give you greetings.
My friends it as always with great pleasure that we come to you. Tonight I want to speak to you briefly. All too often we see upon this earth plane diversity of thought and feeling causing dissension among you, causing problems which lead to warfare, to splitting the harmony which should be between you and between all nations. As individuals when upon earth it is difficult not to isolate oneself from problems which do not directly concern ourselves. Roughly it seems that you upon earth can be divided into two sections, those who are aware of the brotherhood of man and those who sadly are not. Those who insulate themselves, whose concern is only for themselves and for their own way of living, where others have a wider vision, they have grasped the understanding that the meaning of life on earth is service, service to others, service to the earth plane. This does not mean that you should have no concern for yourself, for your own way of life, for your own desires, for your own comfort. But it does mean that you should be aware of the needs of others and those needs in this day and age are great indeed. There are so many in a world of plenty who go hungry, hungry not only in the physical sense, but hungry also for the food of spirit.
The religions upon earth today are many and diverse, but they do not satisfy the inner needs of so many. Those who look beyond the ritual and the dogma and find that the way is difficult and so often they can become lost in the maze of varying ideas and theories. My friends there is but one God, one source of love, one source of compassion. It matters not how you worship, it matters not how you name that force of love. It is compassion in its essence, it a force of life which is aware of the needs of all its creatures. Aware of the need of the whole of creation and creation does mean this planet, this earth alone, but wherever there is light, the whole universe belongs to this creative force; this cosmic mind which is an seeing and all wise.
Each one of you has within you this life force and therefore you have also within you the divinity which is God. However dark, however mean spirited, somewhere within each one there lies this spark of life, this life force. We have said many many times to you this, but it seems that whilst upon earth mankind has found it almost impossible to grasp this reality. It is not a dream it is a fact and the life which you lead upon this earth is aimed towards unfolding that power of love, that compassion within yourselves, to gain a greater understanding, a greater spirituality and I speak of this not as Spiritualist but whatever man's, belief, whatever his understanding, the spirituality of God lies within him and can be developed.
It is not confined to any one belief or any one religion, neither is the continuity of life. All too often man divides into sects and beliefs saying that he or she or that particular group are the only ones to understand the God Spirit, the only ones to be saved at the end of earth. By what right can anyone assume that they are far advanced in the knowledge of God, that they understand more than the rest, that they are unique, that they are the chosen beings. I tell you, this fife force that you name God, it is like an umbrella over all living things and every cell of life is as important as the next, whether it be human, animal or plant life. Within it lies the God Spirit and therefore it is a part of creation, a part of God Itself. Whether you believe or disbelieve, God is there, whether you accept communication with the world of spirit or not, it is there,
we are there. You yourselves in the time to come will join us and you will wish or many of you will wish to come back, to make yourselves known to those who mourn, to those whom you love and who give you love. My friends, you have stepped forth upon a journey of discovery, you have learned a little, you never will cease to learn, the pathway is long and we who come back to you still are learning. It is only those whose minds are closed who believe that they know all things. We learn together and we who have travelled a little farther along the road than you are happy and pleased to return and hopefully to assist you along your difficult journey of life.
Life can never be extinguished, it goes on and on through all eternity. And we have all eternity in which to learn, in which to be, it is an exciting prospect, but to some also a daunting one. For when you realize that this is where freewill ends, we all are given this gift of freewill, this freedom of choice, except in this one thing, that we cannot even though we may wish it, extinguish our lives or the lives of those around us. How many times has man been told this and yet still he believes that by taking the physical form and destroying it he can destroy the life of another, that through warfare he can conquer all things. My friends, there is only one way to conquer your enemies and that is by offering them not hatred but love. There is within all of us, the power of loving, there is the power of giving, there is the power of forgiveness and compassion. If only as individuals each one would concentrate on developing these virtues, learning to conquer anger, to conquer fear, to know that whatever may beset you, whatever troubles you may encounter, life goes on and the God Spirit goes on.
There are always on this side of life, those willing to assist you along the way. We cannot live your lives for you but we can help you towards a better understanding. We can help you to move forward along this spiritual pathway with confidence, knowing that if you seek first the will of the God Spirit, if you give first to God your love, you cannot deviate from the pathway of truth. Develop within yourselves the ability to be still, the ability to remain tranquil no matter what the storms may bring to you. Know that the ship which you steer moves in at last to a safe haven, to the calm waters of the kingdom which will in time be made manifest within your hearts. The kingdom of God is not a separate place, it is not something which you feel you must reach for. For each one of you is able with patience and with courage to manifest this within yourselves. Many of the great ones who have travelled this earth plane, the teachers, the founders of your religions, have found this peace, found this ability to manifest the kingdom of love within them and around them. They came to this earth, not as gods, though many have deified them, but as men or women like you. Because of their desire to be at one with God, to be at one with the earth and all that dwells within it, they developed this great power of spirit which is latent within you all. The ability to deny self and to share, to be aware of each other, to be aware of each other’s needs, to put first your love of the created life.
My friends, it truly has been said, seek first the kingdom of God and all else shall be added to it. Seek first to be at peace with yourself, to know yourself, for only through understanding yourself and your relationship to the God Spirit, shall you come to realize and understand a little of others who dwell around you. Understanding is the key to loving and loving is the key to peace, not only within yourselves, but throughout the earth plane. It is ignorance of the unknown which so often brings with it fear and fear in turn is followed by aggression, fear of that which you do not understand, those of other cultures, of other religions, of other colours. My friends if you remember that each and every one upon this earth carries within them the same spark of life as you yourselves, then shall fear be wiped away and replaced with the need to understand and the ability to love.
The Murder of a Child
Question. We have recently been saddened by the murder of a two year old infant perpetrated by two ten year old children. Because of the manner of his death he, obviously suffered great pain, fear and torment. This will continue to cause great mental suffering to the family of the young victim, the families of the perpetrators and in time the perpetrators themselves. Can you give us your opinion as to why this terrible crime was committed and how two young children could have committed such an evil deed. Has this something to do with the powers of darkness and were these children wholly responsible for what they did.
On this side of life there as you know those who seek to harm, to cause pain and misery and suffering upon this earth. Those whom you would recognize as the forces of darkness. This as we have told you before, both I and the other friends who come to you, is one reason why we condemn those who would seek to reinstate capital punishment. For those who are sent to this earth [here some words in another language] to this side in this manner are filled with resentment and hatred and are in fact released to where they are able to perpetrate even greater harm.
The conditions upon earth today are in many places and in many ways conducive to violence and children such as these see around them, I know that it is very easy to say that that which you call the media is responsible, but in cases like this all too often that is so. They see pictures of violence, they hear of violence, they fantasize and are all too open to the influences of this side which are in fact what you would call evil. This does not reduce personal responsibility. Each and every one, whether you be speaking of a child or an adult is responsible for their own actions. I would say that the spirit inhabiting children such as these are more than likely to be young spirits which would be very little advanced along the spiritual path and easily influenced by those on this side of fife who seek harm.
It is a horrific act, as you have said. I would say now to you that the child that was sent to us has progressed, is now awake and being cared for by many who are giving love and support. I know it is impossible to pass this on to those concerned but do not think now of the horror of passing, but try to imagine him as he is, awake and with those who are giving love. In time it is hoped that those who did this deed will be helped, both upon earth and from this side of life. The great difficulty lies in the fact that those who will have to care for them, shall we say, being human will feel a revulsion. This is the difficulty which we encounter in rescue circles, finding those who will sit with us, who will receive what you will call horrific people with love. It is only love that will heal that which is within them, only love which will drive out the darkness, but with people upon earth just as those who are in darkness on this side of life, you can only wait and offer help.
You cannot compel and they can only be helped when they begin to realize and to desire something better, desire to come out of the darkness and into the light. Remorse and self-pity are not the answer, it is to say within me there must be light, I want now to bring it forth. In the old testament, there is in one of the Prophets a line which says: ‘Had I any desire at all that the wicked shall die said God, but rather that they turn from their ways and live'. The old belief which many still hold of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth and a life for a life, is not the way or the will of God, but that those who do evil, those who dwell in darkness shall come to the realization of what they can do and what life should hold for them and turn and live.
Human Sensitivity
Question. Good Evening. Am I right in assuming that in sensitive people worry and anxiety would cause the etheric to stand back, but is it also used in a form of mediumship.
The etheric to stand back. Not really my brother. Indeed being sensitive yes, it can cause problems because those who have this inner sensitivity are more aware of the suffering, of the need of the earth than others and it can impinge upon them. That is the negative side. The positive side is that they are aware of the problem, they are aware of spirit, perhaps not consciously so, but aware of the forces surrounding them. And instead of being, as it were, trodden down by the weight of earth's sorrow, they say this we must help and it brings a positive reaction. The need to go out, perhaps in a physical manner, perhaps by prayer and meditation, perhaps by offering themselves as channels for the voices which come from the God Spirit. In all the events which occur throughout life there can be found a positive way of thinking. To look back shall we say, even with this terrible murder which my brother spoke of. It is dreadful and that little one has, suffered greatly and so have the adults surrounding him but on the positive side it has made very many more people aware of the need both to monitor what their children see and hear, to be aware that they must be shown the rights and the wrongs of the earth. And it has made others more aware of the need to care, to keep hold of their little ones, not to allow them to wander and therefore, although it is dreadful, it is not entirely wasted.
As you know, many of you who have heard us before, Marcus has said: ‘Nothing is ever a waste of time, nothing should ever be regretted, unless you refuse to learn from it'. Every event within your lives is useful, be it of the light or of the darkness, but you yourselves must turn it to use. Never look upon the darkest side, I know it is difficult, with the violence and the suffering upon earth not to become depressed. But if you do, if you dwell upon that negative side, then you aid and abet the negativity which is the darkness. It does not mean that we condone evil or suffering, but instead send out your thoughts, if that is an you can do and when I say all, that my friends is a very great deal. If only we could make you realize the importance, the value of the power of thought, then a great deal more could be achieved in dispelling the darkness surrounding earth.
Jesus Christ and The Bible
[Question. Why do we say that Jesus Christ was the greatest teacher who came to earth . . . then something inaudible about the bible].
My brother I too knew, know Jesus as master and as friend and teacher. I was alive during his time upon earth. Jesus gave, I would not, cannot say that he is alone because there are many aspects of this Christ mind of which he is a part. The Lord Buddha also was a great and knowledgeable teacher and one who gave of himself just as did Jesus. There is in the bible, both in the old and in the new testament much that is true, but there is much also that has been added and altered and taken away to suit the priests and the teachers who have followed. Christianity as it is today, bears very little relation to what Jesus taught, his teaching was simple, he was a great fully developed and wonderful medium. He was both clairvoyant, clairaudient, he was transfigured, he was entranced, he was able to bring forth the direct voice and materialization. I think it is true to say that there has not been, certainly not in your western world a medium to compare with him. He came to earth, not as a God, he was a fully [here a word in, another language] a highly developed soul. And he came to bring hope to a people who had been downtrodden and oppressed for many generations. His healing power was great, rather than healing merely the physical body, he was able to, give men the opportunity of understanding. He taught those who were simple and those who were learned. I know that what he gave, love, was truly a gift of God. But you see what you have to remember is that at that time, throughout the earth there were many many religions, many gods and many ways of worship. And most of the ways of worship involved sacrifice and ritual. Christianity, the original Christianity, did not. The only sacrifice required was the sacrifice of self.
Christianity therefore did not gain the converts that its followers felt it should and so gradually rituals and beliefs taken from other religions were added, to create colour and incentive. Although it has spread throughout the earth and we' that followed Jesus helped to do this. As it became more and more dogmatic, they lost the simplicity which Jesus had given it. Many within your churches today are sincere in their beliefs, sincere in their teaching, but oh my brothers, if only they would go back to what Jesus taught. Love God, love your neighbour, whether he believes in what you do or no, recognize that all men are equal, all men are part of the family of God. This is why Jesus refers to the God Spirit as Father, trying to teach simple people that they were as one both with God and with each other; that is essential Christianity. The sharing, the loving, the giving. It is only by losing self that we gain victory over self and in gaining that, victory we become indeed Christian, not Christian by name, but Christians in deed. Read your bible by all means, but only accept that which is simple and logical. It has been too much tampered with and changed to be followed letter by letter.
The Next Coming
[Question. Completely inaudible, but can be evinced by the answer].
There is certainly preparation, but whether it will be during your lifetime, I cannot say. We do not measure time on this side of life. You are moving, as many of you will be aware into what you call the age of Aquarius, reputed to be the age of enlightenment and there is on this side a move to bring to earth again one who will be among those whom we know as the shining ones, the messengers of the God Spirit. Will you recognize this light? Throughout the ages of man there have been many teachers and what has man done to almost every one. Driven them back once more into the world of spirit. Decrying what they teach because of its very simplicity. It is so easy to say share, but this does not mean sharing merely, physical goods. It is easy for those of you who have wealth to give it, to give it to charity, to put coppers into the hands of the poor, but that is not love my friends. Love is giving of yourself, of your inner self and this is what the great teachers always taught. It is a simple solution to all the problems of earth, so simple but so very difficult to follow. The time will come, because gradually, very gradually man is becoming civilized.
Back in the time for instance when Marcus was alive there were spectacles in the Roman arena many of you will know of which were indeed horrific. You think of the horrors of your world wars and the genocide, but my friends in those days, there were nations now extinct because of the Roman arenas and this was done, not to gain territory, not to gain dominions but for the pleasure of watching suffering. There are nations still who enjoy spectacles but not on this scale. Today still you torture many of the animal kingdom for sport, for gain but gradually it is all diminishing. The voices are becoming stronger to say enough, yet still there is violence upon your cinema and television screens for pleasure. This in itself is a form of depravity. Gradually man is becoming sickened with violence and the voices of peace grow stronger. As earth moves forward, as it evolves spiritually, so the time will come nearer for the next teacher to come and hopefully to awaken fully within minds of men the need for spiritual development; will show man the way forward.
You are not alone in this planet, there are evidences of the light which we know exists throughout the universe. There are many planets on which life, life even greater than your own, beings who have learned the ways of peace. And they look upon earth with sorrow and with concern. They are not aggressive towards earth but benign, seeking with their mind power to join forces with earth to influence your leaders, your governments to walk the path of peace. That is what the next teacher will be giving to earth, the unification of all nations. The realization that no small part of earth is for one nation, one people, but for all mankind. There is sufficient upon this earth that no man need go hungry, if man would but use it wisely. Send your thoughts towards making this earth a place, which shall welcome the teacher to come and not refuse to listen, not destroy their earth form. It may not be a male, it may come in a female form. There will not be announcements, there will not be stars or virgin births, these are legends, but the light which will come with that being will be apparent from the time of birth.
Transplanting Organs
[Question. This question, though again inaudible, appeared to be about a specific and much publicized transplant operation].
As you know neither I nor my friends condone the use of these organs. The child suffered much. It is difficult to explain without seeming to judge if we do not. But I would say this, the parents of this little one were mistaken, what they thought was love for her was the need within themselves to hold her to them, to keep her with them no matter what the cost, to her, to them, to others. The suffering which that little one endured is just as horrific as the child who was murdered and for what? The parents perhaps have learned to realize this, I hope so and I hope that others have learned from this experience, how wrong it is to put another, being, who let it be said has no choice. A child of that age cannot say, no, no more. How wrong it is to make another suffer just because of our need for them.
Now, I know that many of you will have heard this before, but when we are asked about prayer, I have said and I know others also, the right way to pray is to pray for the wellbeing of the one you love. Not to say, heal them, do not take them from me, but let there be an end to this suffering, if it be Thy will and let them stay with me here on earth a while longer. But if not, then let this poor spirit be free of this pain and the shackles of the physical body which is holding it back. That is a prayer for the person you love and not for yourself. Transplants are wrong in many ways, they have caused - the development of this technique - has caused untold suffering and agony and cost the lives of many many creatures.
Also it is very difficult because it can lead to the destruction, and in fact it has led to the destruction of life deliberately in order to gain organs needed for another. Perhaps not in this country, but certainly elsewhere. And certainly those of you who know of the continuity of life surely could not think of using this method to prolong a life. It is not prolonged for much of your time. It is painful, there are rejections, it is not merely a matter of taking out one thing and putting, in another, it causes pain and it does not last. If you know of the world of spirit then why seek to prolong a painful life and endure much for a few months, a few years, when you could be free and where you truly belong.
Blood Transfusions
Question. Then what are your views on blood transfusions.
They come into a different category, it is much simpler. The blood is given freely, it does not harm, there is no possibility that life could be destroyed in order to save it. That is what is our main consideration. We do not suggest that you shorten life, we do not feel that illnesses and diseases should go untreated, but to prolong it beyond the normal; you have I know spirits trapped within bodies which will not ever be of further use, because they are held there by tubes, artificial heart beats, what you call life supports. But it is not life, you are supporting death. When the body is no longer a habitable place for the spirit, then it should be allowed its freedom.
Psychosomatic Illness
Question. Are all illnesses and diseases psychosomatic.
Not entirely. Many of them have evolved through mans' misuse over many years. both of his own physical being and of the environment in which he dwells. Much can be achieved by mind, both in the negative and positive fields, but not all diseases are psychosomatic, they do have physical origins. On this side we see so much that is futile within the medical profession. The experiments upon animals which are not only often useless, but on the contrary misleading. But we cannot step-in, it is only through mans' realization of the oneness of life, that these lives are as important as the lives of mankind, that this will end. There is so much still which must end upon earth. but it must come from within man, not from without. You see, there are so many things upon earth which in theory are good. The cult, the belief of communism, that all should share, that there should be no rich and no poor. That concept was something which Jesus himself taught; where it went wrong was when people who believed in it tried to compel, tried to bring about by war, by force, by aggression, their belief. The need to share, the need to be at one must be voluntary and it must come from within and not from outer pressure.
Rate of Spiritual Development
[Question. This appeared to be a personal question about the questioner's concern for his rate of spiritual development].
Very difficult my brother. You will find very often with spiritual development that you do go forward and back and forward and back. What I would say is that you should not become concerned merely with your own development. It is in the wider field, the sharing of your experience with others, that you will develop further. If you can learn to be patient, which is the hardest lesson of all, topic still in yourself. You have heard me say this before. Let your mind be quiet, do not try to measure your progress against that of others, an move at a different pace. It is not always those who leap forward quickly who make the most progress. In all nations there is the legend of the tortoise and the hare. It is a salutary lesson, take one step at a time. Try to sit quietly by yourself, focusing your mind upon some object, some music, some events which brings you peace; tranquillity. And then you will find that within you, come the thoughts which are not merely of yourself, but of your helpers and guides in the world of spirit. You will begin to be aware; think of yourself as opening-up, tuning-in to the spirit. Your development is not as tardy as you believe.
Epilogue
My friends I thank you for your love, for your attention and for your questions. It is always a pleasure to be with you, to talk with you and to discuss with you, not merely as a teacher, but I hope as a friend. And now I will give thanks to the God Spirit before I leave you.
O Father, You who are in and around each one of us. You who know our inner thoughts, our fears, our hopes and our beliefs. Look upon each one gathered here tonight, bring into their minds the understanding of their own divinity, of the meaning of life, of their purpose here upon earth. That they may fulfil the part they have undertaken, that they may learn and gain from this experience of life. And that they may tread steadily, resolutely and with courage into the kingdom of light and understanding. Be with them and let them be aware of Your presence, let them be aware of each other and of the world of spirit, while maintaining their ability to live upon earth. May the light be there for them, may they be guided and helped, uplifted and given hope and led at last into the manifestation of Your kingdom.
