Mans’ Evolution

As man?

Yes.

The exact moment my brother is somewhat difficult to pin-point exactly. Since man has evolved, as you must know, gradually. The earliest I am told is between six and seven million years ago. You see what you must realize is that this present civilization is not the only one that has existed upon earth. There have been as you must know, civilizations such as Atlantis, which through their own technology and lack of wisdom destroyed themselves. When the evolvement had once again to commence, to begin at the beginning. Earth still by the standards of the universe is a young planet. There are many more advanced than we. Man in his present form has taken long to evolve, but spiritually remains, still as yet incomplete, for a much greater understanding is necessary.

We upon earth, I say we because the spirit world is a part of earth, it is merely another layer, as it were. We have much to learn still from other inhabited planets who have become spiritual to a far greater degree than we can dream of yet upon earth. Man has moved through many forms of life. Do you understand? I win not digress unless there are other questions upon this, but man has moved through many forms of life, so that the group can gain knowledge of every aspect of life upon earth.

The Group

Question. Could you please enlarge on what you meant by the group.

In the world of spirit there are many groups. Just as upon earth shall we say, there are nations, though it is not comparable in one sense, for the groups do not war one with the other, nor do they fight for territory. But each soul upon earth is part of a group upon this side of life. Can you understand this? And when I said that man evolved through every form of life, I did not mean that each and every individual experienced every form of life upon earth. But it is necessary for the evolvement of the group as a whole that there shall be knowledge of all, forms of life. Therefore, life from inanimate, through animate life, aquatic, airborne, plant life, insect life, must have been experienced so that the knowledge gained shall be available to each member of the group should they require it. The experience that you gain throughout your lives upon earth is written within, not only within the akashic records, not only within your karma, but within your inner memory, so that as you progress, as you become more and more spiritually aware, that knowledge can be recalled at will to an evolved soul. But that knowledge is also available to each and every member of the group to which you belong. This does not mean that your personal privacy, but all that is of use

within your life will be freely given into this bank of knowledge. In present day parlance one would speak of it as an instrument, as a computer. We do not speak in this way, the knowledge is just there. So that whatever may be needed for the progress of an individual is available whenever he or she asks to receive it. But remember whether still in a physical body, or whether you have moved onwards into the spirit world, to receive you must first ask. You must make others aware of your need. Knowledge is never refused, there are always those who have moved farther forward along the pathway, ready and willing and able to assist you. To tell you where to find what you need and perhaps to enable you to be more aware within yourself of what it is you need. For what you need to progress is not always my friend what you want and when we dwell upon earth it is not always easy to be aware of the difference.

Other Civilizations, Atlantis, etc.

Question. Could you tell us a bit more about Atlantis and any other civilizations there may have been that you know of. How long ago did Atlantis exist and were they people like we are today.

They were and they do my brother still exist. For you must realize that these ancient civilizations were not peopled by extinct spirits, for once spirit has, shall we say, been initiated, it cannot be destroyed. The soul, the spirit being a part of the God Spirit are immortal, cannot die, cannot be destroyed. So that among you today, there still are possibly those who existed in such civilizations as Atlantis. The rise and fall, the destruction of these civilizations is all a part of the evolution, not merely of man, but of earth itself. Atlantis was destroyed, as so many civilizations have been destroyed, by mans' curiosity, if you will, by his desire to play at being God, to determine the weather, to determine the lives of those whom he considered less intelligent than himself. Always there is this problem, that man develops his scientific mind, which initially perhaps carries with it some humility, but eventually becomes overbearing.

The fall of Lucifer is nothing to the fall of those scientists who come to believe or to disbelieve in the existence of a Creator. They become carried away with their own technology, little realizing that they are as children playing with fire. As we tell you, those of you who would develop your psychic power, first develop your spirituality and your spiritual awareness; your knowledge of the philosophy of spirit. Then the psychic power which is a two-edged sword. So it is with science and technology, first men, scientists, should develop their wisdom, should develop seeking to understand the meaning of the universe, to be aware of the balance which must be held upon earth and the balance which earth must keep within the universe. But almost inevitably man jumps ahead, carries out his experiments, becomes in his own eyes God Itself and then comes disaster. In Atlantis the power of the crystal controlled movement, began even to control thought and one of their great thinkers realized the danger, not only to earth but to the universe which could be caused, or he could see being caused, would be caused by those who sought power for its own sake. He therefore chose to destroy the land in which he dwelt, the land which he loved, rather than see earth itself destroyed.

This has happened not only once and not only upon earth but upon other planets also. To seek power for its own sake is to destroy oneself, to destroy in the end one's self respect. To deny the existence of God, for the material then becomes God and man becomes God in his own eyes with the power of life and death. But almost always there have been those who have understood, those who have acted as Iguram, the leader of the Atlantians and have chosen self-destruction to sacrifice themselves rather than to destroy the universe, rather than to upset the plans of the God Spirit. Today man is beginning to find a glimmer of understanding, to realize that earth cannot be misused, as it so often has during its past years. But man cannot create deserts, cannot destroy nations and himself remain unharmed. Upon this side of life and from other consciousness we seek to make you understand this, to help you develop your sciences, but to give you the understanding to use what you discover with wisdom and with love. Earth and those who dwell upon it have a great and wonderful opportunity, for this age that. is dawning, is the age of enlightenment, it is a turning point, a time when man can say, I speak for the God Spirit, I give healing to earth, I give love to my fellow beings. I deny hatred access to my mind, to my heart, to my mouth. Man must come to this realization that there are not many nations, but one, the nation of the God Spirit.

Question. How do we know and can we be sure that a spirit is who he or she says they are.

Jesus the Nazarene said to those who followed: 'Test the spirit, by their light you shall know them'. My sister, we can only give you our love and our light, we cannot, unless you care to cheek and re-cheek, prove to you other than by saying, that those who come to you in light and in love will speak to you, telling you truth as they know it, that there are laws of the God Spirit which are unbreakable and are fact. That my brother Marcus has said: ‘whenever there are areas of doubt, then a guide who is true will tell you so and win say, this is my opinion, this I believe or this is the theory which I follow'. There are many ways. of thought on this side of life, there are many roads to the God Spirit. I win however tell you one story. On one occasion when Marcus the centurion was speaking through this medium, he was asked this question: ‘How can you prove that you are Marcus, not just Sheila pretending to be Marcus' and he answered, I cannot. But at a later meeting the lady in question came to my medium and said: ‘The last time you were here I said to Marcus, how can you prove yourself, when he just did, I have seen him in his full regalia'.

When it is a question of your own friends and relatives, then surely there are ways, there are events which only you and they can know. There are many ways for them to prove, but for us who come from many many years ago, it is perhaps more difficult. However, Marcus for instance has been able to describe the legion in which he served and its movements, which have been checked and re-checked and found to be correct. Historical figures normally will come only where there is some link. Do you understand? We all know that when regressions are done, there are many Cleopatras, many Nelsons, many Julius Caesars and my friends, there are also true regressions, there are true cases of those who have been perhaps known upon earth returning. Because they feel that their return will convince others who still fear death, who doubt communication, unfortunately it, is often quite the reverse.

The very fact that upon earth they were known and were famed, makes their return suspect. But do not dismiss out of hand and to try to prove that what they are saying and who they are is truth. Never be afraid to question, that really is the only way; to question, to doubt. There is a great difference between being healthily curious and determined to accept only truth and being a sceptic, who seeks not to prove but to disprove. Providing you give love and sympathy to those who communicate, they will not be offended in any way, but will seek to give you the evidence which will convince you of their truth and of their worth.

Question. Good evening Mentor. I wonder if you could tell me what is the best treatment for someone who is suffering from asthma. I have heard that oranges are supposed to be very good, but quite how, I don't know.

My brother, one would need to treat each case individually. I am not a healer, this you know. If you would refer this to Fu, he will explain to you, but there are many ways of treating this problem. Sometimes it is caused by a nervous condition, in other cases it is purely physical. It can also be caused by an allergic condition. The treatment by medication is not always successful. The one thing that has been, but because it requires much patience and work on behalf of the patient, is difficult to apply, is the teaching of correct use here [presumably indicating the part of the body]. And that my medium can tell you more of in her own physical presence than I.

[John Mainwood, a member of Sheila Jones's home circle asked this question. Hence the reference to Fu above].

[Question. This question, though partly inaudible was about the taking of the life of animals and plants for our food and a comparison of the difference].

The great difference, I am speaking now of animals, I will return to the plant life. When my people took life it was, how can I say, it was ourselves against the animals. Do you understand? With the hunting tribes throughout the earth, it was the same it was the natural law, the law of the survival of the fit. The great difference today, is not only because we, as I said, thanked the animals that we slaughtered, we offered our thanksgiving and our prayers for the release of the spirit. Today not only do you not do that, you breed specifically, you herd the animals into pens and take their lives. It is not, one to one, there is no chance of escape, it is not merely slaughter, it is massacre; that is what caused the, resentment. The animals that we killed did not look to us for sustenance, these creatures you breed, you feed, they look to man for care, if not for love, and then suddenly they are dispatched. That is what causes the horror and the resentment. And if you can remember my brother, I will take you - this is a bargain - to this when you sleep; I will show you and hope that you may carry back the memory. And you will see then and understand, the pain that is caused and the darkness that this brings to earth.

Plant life has a certain amount of sensitivity, but it is further down the ladder and although one gets reaction to, for instance light and dark, lack of food or, otherwise. There are not the brain cells, in other words it is not sanctioned life in the way that the animal kingdom is. The plants, like insects are part of a group soul which will develop on and move from plant to the next step which is insect and then animal and so on, up the ladder of evolution. But there is no feeling of resentment in plant life, when it reaches the next stage, yes there would be.

An Unrequited Request

Whose work is it then?

My work is teaching, you should go to a medium. When you say you want me to reach someone, is it to give you a message?

That Is correct.

No my brother, upstairs in the demonstrations [this refers to the room on the first floor of the SAGB where demonstrations of clairvoyance and clairaudience are held] if you are lucky, they would reach you, but my work is solely teaching, it is not making contact with friends and relatives.

Are you not a trance medium?

I am.

Doesn't a trance medium make contact with the spirit world?

My brother, I am a guide and a teacher, I do not and my medium does not give personal messages.

More on Atlantis

Question. Please, could you comment further about Atlantis.

It did exist, most certainly and the beings upon it were advanced. They were advanced spiritually to a certain degree and some of them were very advanced beings indeed. Unfortunately what happened was that they developed their technology to a very high degree. They were able to control the weather, the tides and much else. What they had not developed was the wisdom to use this wisely. It was one of the very developed souls among them who saw this and, realized the danger. That not only Atlantis, but the earth itself was in. After very much searching within himself, he found what he considered to be the only answer, which was the self-destruction of Atlantis, rather than the destruction of earth. Destroying the thing which they had developed, brought the wave, the tidal wave, which submerged this continent. It did indeed exist and from it a lesson quiet hard to accept must be learned. That your scientists must be in some measure controlled. Do you understand? Because this same thing could occur again. Man seeks to control the development of embryos, to alter the pattern which lies within each one of you, to create life. He can create matter, but not the spirit, because that comes from the God Spirit alone. Man has the ability to reach great heights, he has learned to travel through space, he has learned to cause great destruction. To harness a power which could bring life and healing and light, but which he has chosen to use to destroy. This is one instance of science run amok. We on this side seek to guide you, to influence you, but we cannot compel you not to take the path of Atlantis, but to seek wisdom and truth. To understand the powers which you have and to use them for the benefit of this earth plane and your fellow-beings. Atlantis was a dire example that all too often, ideas that have started upon earth as good and kindly, have been turned and twisted by the greed for material gain into something dark and evil.

Doctors and Regression

Question. As reincarnation appears to be and affect greatly every aspect our lives, could a medical doctor use this theory in treating his patients.

In mental cases my brother, it is very often beneficial to ask the patient to regress, to recall some at least of the past lives which he or she has known upon. earth. Because very often fears and phobias in you present incarnation have their roots in the past. Do you understand me? Physically too, the physical body can in some cases be influenced by the memories - albeit hidden - of past problems and diseases. A doctor upon earth could only use this if he himself has an understanding, but in the hands of those who do not fully understand it, it would be more a hindrance and a danger than a help. One must remember too, that whether or not one returns to earth is a matter for the individual. There are those upon this side of life who have lived upon earth only once and do not choose to return. There are many paths to spiritual development, as I have said before and there are as many ideas on this side of life as there are upon earth and who is to say that one is right and another wrong.

There are certain laws of the God Spirit which are immutable, they cannot be changed and if they are flouted they will bring problems to that individual. The great law is that you shall love the God Spirit, now it does not matter what you call that God, but it is loving. And we have said, both I and my friends who come to you, many times, that if you obey that law then you cannot break the others. For one who truly loves God, loves all life that is created upon this earth and therefore can neither lie nor steal nor kill nor covet. Because you are content in, the knowledge that God is love and that you love God and that you are enfolded by that love. The other great law is that of cause and effect, sowing and reaping, for truly my brother whatever you sow that you shall surely reap, whether it be light or darkness. Their is no punishment, no judgement, except within yourselves.

And to say that one suffers disease or illness in this life because of what one has done previously, is wrong. It may well be that someone has chosen to experience a particular illness or disability, feeling that they are in some measure atoning for their shortcomings in a previous life. It may be that they wish to experience it in order that they may find a greater understanding for the sick and the suffering upon earth, but it is not an inevitable following-up of misdeeds, not a punishment. Your medical men upon earth are gradually coming to understand the benefits of spiritual healing, of spiritual cleansing and when they are fully able to accept this, to work together with healers, with people who can help in regression, then all things will fall into place and the best possible use will be made of knowledge of reincarnation.

More on Animals

Question. Where do animals go when they pass on and if they come back here what form do they take. Also is it wrong to put animals to sleep if they are in pain and have very little time to live anyway.

Well firstly, the animals move into the world of spirit just as do you, there is no separation. Whatever has life upon earth, whether it be plant life, animal life, insect life, the inanimate life; it progresses at what you call death, into the world of spirit which is but another dimension. That is the first part of your question. The form they take, insects for instance will come into a group, you understand, the individual souls will merge into one. The larger, shall we say the mammals. or the larger animals, will retain their individuality and progress just as does mankind. They come back in the same form or in something higher. In the case of domestic animals. not always but very often, an animal will choose to return to where it has already been loved. And often you will see the similarity and if you were able to communicate as many of us are able to do, then you would be able to greet again the friend you thought you had lost.

Animals have a very definite part to play in the lives of mankind and those who do not see this, those who do not treat them with compassion and with love, lose a great deal. Because the love that is given is unquestioned, it is without limitation, without the conditions which are so often attached to the love of another human. They will offer you love whether they receive it or not. Whether it is right to send them to the world of spirit, I must say that according to the law it is wrong. It is always better whether it be animal or human, although humans of course are part of the animal kingdom, it is always better to allow the spirit to depart that body when itself is ready, not when you believe it should be ready. It is better, not from the physical point of view, but from the spiritual point of view and I know that truly is the law.

But if you spoke to my medium,* I know she would disagree. As you know - you. may or you may not know - she has a great deal to do with the animal kingdom. Wherever possible she will allow them to come to us naturally, but there have been occasions and I imagine knowing her there will be again, when she will just say, I am sorry my friends, if I am doing wrong, so be it, but I cannot allow this to continue. It is something my friends that you must decide for yourselves and I would say to you this. I do know because I have received some of my mediums animals, as you know I in particular am very close, closely connected to her. I know that they do understand why you have acted thus, do you follow me? They will realize that what you have done has been done with love. [*Sheila Jones].

Pain

Question. This is not a criticism, but since you left the earth you must have forgotten what pain is all about. I understand that pain can be suppressed by drugs, but at some stage pain will be the victor, whether it is animal or human. In tremendous pain a person or animal must be put down in kindness, whether the spirit is ready for it or not. If a person is in great pain that they cannot be touched, they cannot be moved, they cannot be bathed. I think they must be relieved of this.

My brother no, I am sorry but in this you are wrong and do not imagine that I have forgotten pain. When I came for the last time to this world of spirit, I was in your terms murdered.

We my brother, at that time, you do not understand when you say that I murdered, we murdered.

Questioner. All killing is murder.

Yes, will you allow me. What I will say to you is this, that my people fought, not to gain territory, not to gain wealth, but for our lives. We were driven, we were promised, we signed treaties which were inevitably broken, until in the end there was no choice. It was a question, not of aggression but of self-preservation. We did not fight in anger but . . .

. . . but in sorrow, because our people were taught the love of the God Spirit. My brother forgive me, you still have far to go. The power of the God Spirit gives strength and courage. One can learn without drugs, if not to conquer, to outstrip pain, to rise above it. We were taught from small children how to withstand physical pain. The Buddhists, the lamas of Tibet, they too have learnt this; it is something that you in the western world do not trouble to find out.

Questioner. Everyone in the world suffers from pain but not everyone can combat it like your group did.

You do not my brother, as I have said, take the time to learn how. It is the sadness of the western civilization; everyone yes my brother suffers pain, but everyone also has within them if they develop it, if they choose to develop it, the ability to overcome it. It is not some magic formula which is confined to Red Indians. There are many throughout the world who have this ability, who have developed it and it is possible, it is not something out of the ordinary. It is something which can be learned by each and every one.

Question. I would like to know the differences and also similarities between fish and the animal kingdom.

The differences physically or spiritually?

Well again, they are a form of life which continues in the world of spirit. Many of them have very highly developed brains and are aware, particularly the creatures which you call dolphins and whales, seals. These creatures have a very highly developed brain and a knowledge of spirit. Man tends to underestimate the ability of what he calls the animal kingdom to be aware of spirit, but many of them are far closer to the God Spirit than is man himself. Because they accept unquestioningly, the laws which they feel within themselves. Amongst all the animal kingdom there are predators, but whether they live in the sea or upon land, their killing is for survival alone. And gradually as life upon earth develops fully so will this become unnecessary as it is upon many of the planets where there is more highly developed life than here upon earth. The fish of the sea WW gradually as they evolved; that purely aquatic life is one stage of development, the next will be to return as amphibians and so on. But all life evolves both physically and spiritually. There is no difference as far as spirit is concerned between aquatic animals and those upon the land.

Question. Is it possible for the transmission of energy from one person to another without either person realizing it. Sometimes if you are with a person you feel drained afterwards. Is it possible for that to happen.

It is possible yes. There are some among you are, shall we say, can be likened to sponges, soaking-up the life force around them, but one can always protect oneself from this kind of thing. It is not a conscious pulling-in, it is those who in themselves are perhaps low in vitality, either physically or mentally and they will quite unconsciously, just as you breathe in air, suck in the life force. What you must do if you feel that you are in the presence of such a person, is to close in yourself. Consciously to close.

How do you do that?

Well it is a mental process, visualize yourself closing in and surround yourself with a ring of light, a cone of light, do you understand? Imagine it spinning around you and then you can consciously send to that person help, it is healing that they require. Send strength to them, but do it in a conscious manner so that it is drawn not from yourself, but from the atmosphere.

Question. Can machines deplete your energy, like visual display units.

Of physical energy yes, of spiritual energy no. It is the very movement of the machinery itself which can deplete you. It draws physical energy and can be very tiring, not only for the eyes, but for the mind and for the body also. Those who work continuously with machines, tire far more easily than those who, shall we say who are doing much more physically difficult labour out in the open. This in fact is far less depleting than for those who are involved with machines in industry or even as you have said, visual display units. It is far more tiring than physical labour.

Language and Communication 04 April 1993

Question. Good evening. This is a technical question, if that is the correct word to use. Do you and other guides who speak to us through the mediums, learn as it were the English language, or is this a process of thought whereby you transmit by means of thought to a medium what you want to say and the medium by some thought process translates it into English.

No my brother, we had to learn. It is necessary in any case because my medium is no longer here. We remove her completely, we borrow the body and the vocal mechanism in order to speak to you. Therefore we have to know your language. It is not her mind nor her brain, but ours, whoever comes. There are other forms, as you know, of mediumship where the thoughts are implanted within the mediums mind, that is an overshadowing, an inspiration you may call it. But we are in control of this body and therefore we have to know both your language and how to deliver it. My brother Marcus is of course the greatest orator among us because he learned even while upon earth, how to deliver, how to speak and he has taught many of us. I wish sometimes hearing speakers, so-called, upon your platforms - because we often as it were look in upon you and upon your gatherings - that Marcus was able to teach them also how to marshal their thoughts and how to put across what they intend to say. All too often words are misunderstood and I know without any doubt that even you who are listening now to me, if you do not have it on the machine, will quote many of my replies quite differently. It is like games - the party games - you have where one begins a whisper and passes it round the room. The distortion is amazing. I have heard myself sometimes quoted and been quite amazed at what I am supposed to have said. It is important whenever you communicate, whether you communicate from this side of life or among yourselves to be as sure as you can be, that those who listen have not merely heard words but have understood their meaning. Does that answer you my brother?

Epilogue

My friends, I will give you if you will, a prayer of my people to carry with you.

O great Spirit, Thou source of light and understanding. You who see each one of us Thy children, look upon us with compassion, lead us into the power of Your presence. Let us look upon the directions of earth. In every corner let us see You, let us be aware of You within the light of the sun, within the light of the moon, within its warmth, within the rain which brings fertility to earth and food to mankind. Within the blossoms, within the trees, within the streams, within the rocks. Wherever we look, upon whatever we lay our eyes and our hearts and our minds, You are there, let us never forget Your presence. And Father look upon us and forget not us in our need. Let us be aware of the day, of the light, of the hour, let it be bright, a clear day to live, let us clear the way to You and let us remember, amid all our worries, all our troubles, that if it be a good day to live, that also it is a good day to die. To die, not to sleep, not to dream but to waken in Your kingdom.
