Ancient History
How much of this you take seriously is really up to you. Because of the nature of the period we are dealing with, histories were handed down by word of mouth. What written records exist are later transcriptions of those legends. The earliest ancestral records I have been able to trace go back to the Nord Trondheim and Uppsala areas of Scandinavia. The viking settlers we originate from came across the sea to Orkney and then southwards across England. What follows is a potted history of a few of them : |
