Since their early 80's - Epic Records days, members of the band have played with the likes of Scotty Moore and The Comets whilst, as a band they have toured with greats such as Chuck Berry, Elton John (40 nights!), Depeche Mode, Cockney Rebel and Shaky and many more.
Sharp suits and sharper performances saw The Stargazers sell 36,000 copies of their self-penned 'Groove Baby Groove' EP in 1981, unfortunately back then that was only good enough for a chart position of 56. It was, interestingly, only a postal strike holding up two week's 'chart registered sales' reaching the Gallop offices that prevented that all-important Top of the Pops. Epic was gutted... but the band played on.
Yep, you can't keep a good Hep Cat down. It's still wild and swinging, and Bill Haley, Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan, Boyd Bennett et al continue to be served up (along with some fine originals, by this charismatic, uniquely gifted and still all original (give or take the odd exploding drummer) Jive band.
'Let's All Rock Together' is the message on any Stargazers invitation… SO COME ON BABY! LET'S ROCK!!
The Stargazers have been rocking and rolling on the UK scene in both a cult underground and an accessibly over-ground manner for over 20 years now, and if you like your rock 'n' roll served up with a solid beat, solid riffs and a tuneful refrain, The Stargazers are the boys for you.
