RHAYADER
MOUNTAIN TRAIL
Saturday 4th May 2002
The challenge walks cross mixed terrain with superb scenery mainly to the west of the Mid-Wales town of Rhayader.
There
are three routes available of 28, 18 and 13 miles starting and finishing at
the old School, Cwmdeuddwr. All the routes pass part of the Elan Valley
Reservoir complex and climb to 450 metres in height over Pen Rhiw Wen.
We try to make this a friendly, informal but challenging event aimed at people
who enjoy a day's walking in interesting surroundings.
Opposite the start is "The Triangle" an old coaching inn, which
serves good beer and meals. A short distance away in Rhayader is the Leisure
Centre, which has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and showers.
