Conditions of entry:- As this is a winter walk every reasonable precaution will be taken in the marshalling of the route. The organiser reserves the right to shorten or postpone the walk if weather conditions justify the decision.

The following equipment must be worn or carried by each entrant:-

Map 1:50000 sheet 147 or 1:25000 Explorer 200. Whistle. Compass. First aid kit. Torch. Sufficient food and drink for the day, including emergency rations. Sweater. This equipment is considered the minimum consistent with safety. Additional equipment may be advisable as weather conditions may be sevre at this time of year.

Important:- Walkers taking part in this event do so entirely at their own risk and no liability can be accepted by the organizer in the event of an accident.

This is a wilderness area and so self sufficiency  is vital. There is little tarmac, one phone box and no shops.

Entries will be limited to 120.

Closing date for entries 24th December 1999 or sooner if 120 places are taken.

Note : Fees cannot be refunded after this date.

ACCOMMODATION

If accommodation is required, there are hotels in Llandrindod Wells Rhayader and the surrounding area. I can recommend the Lion  Royal Hotel in Rayader, which is being used for the walk. It has a friendly, informal atmosphere, good food, T.V. lounge and bar with open fire. Not a bad way to finish an event! If you require accommodation at the Lion, contact Mrs Collard on 01597 810202.
