"Many thanks for your advice re the above and thanks for your prompt attention to my recent order.

I have constructed new mains leads for all my hifi equipment and rewired the mains block, all with
CANDOUR cable, and the improvements are VAST! I didn't really believe that this modest upgrade
would make that much difference.

The sound stage has expanded markedly in ALL planes;

There is increased seperation of and more 'air' around each instrument;

Transient attack/crescendoes improved;

Bass deeper, 'punchier' and much more 'tuneful';

Noise floor significantly lowered - 'quiet' is REALLY quiet!

Improved stereo separation.

Need I go on?!

All I did was to cut off the captive mains lead and connect new upgraded leads to each source and
amp by means of IEC plugs/sockets. A VDR was soldered into each mains plug - including distribution
block - and all contacts cleaned thoroughly. My system is relatively modest: Rega Planar 3, Aiwa
ADF850 cassette deck, Marantz CD63SE CD player, Aura VA100 amp and Mission 760 speakers,
but I really can't believe the improvements to the sound of all sources, probably equivalent to several
hundred pounds worth of new hardware!

Just thought I'd let you know about my experiences. If you want to quote me in any promotional material,
please feel free to do so. If you want to know any more, please get in touch."

Thanks again,

"My order arrived promptly. Thank you. I have used the cables on my system and the results are exciting.
I use the 1988 Karajan Bruckner 8th (DGG-DDD) as my benchmark recording when trying upgrades and
tweaks. Previously the system has failed to present what I consider to be the 'atmosphere' in the opening
passages of the slow movement (hushed strings of the Vienna Philharmonic). With the new mains and
component cables with VDR and filtration the violins are far better focused and poised in the stereo stage
with an aura previously missing. With louder music the dynamics are more apparent without the loss of detail
or definition. In the middle-lower range the cellos and viola desks have acquired the 'rasp' of horsehair on gut
and the double basses have lost bloom in favour of a more realistic vertical image (i.e. it doesn't threaten the
entire soundstage). Similarly the presentation of the entire orchestra is far more lifelike and balanced. The
cables are not burnt-in yet so I expect more, if subtle, improvement. I can only assume that the level of
background noise in the grid and the actual supply in Dubai is enough to rob a system of its potential. Your
cables have been the most important non-component addition to my system. The improvement has been out
of all proportion to the investment.

Again, thank you the cables were an absolute winner!

About ANACREON interconnect

I can honestly say my expectations have been exceeded. I wondered whether your claims about the tingle
factor would be true. I am pleased to confirm this is true.

The start of every cd track is quite stunning. It is difficult to describe all the improvements contributing to this.
The result is close to palpable music, rather than an electronic representation.

The cap16 have equally created an amazing improvement in treble delicacy and clarity. Particlarly noticeable
is brushed cymbals where each individual hair contact can be clearly heard. I can only assume that the contact
pressure transmits high frequencies more accurately.

I am wondering whether silver speaker cables will produce a further significant improvement.

I have had to juggle with pre-amp valves to avoid the sound being too revealing and anaemic. But now I have
this right I am well pleased. I just have an impressive insight into the performance without struggling to
identify individual strands.

I am pleasantly surprised that my equipment is capable of this level of performance.

SENT TO HI-FI WORLD MAGAZINE

My current system comprises a Pioneer PD9 CD player, Linn Sondek with Ittock & Goldring 1042, Quad FM4,
CR Developements preamp, a custom made 100wpc valve power amplifier and a pair of B&W 801s. I have built
up this system over many years, always choosing equipment by using it in my home and deciding if I like it
(whatever the reviews).

In the past I have attended demonstrations when those present are asked to listen for differences between cleaned
and uncleaned CDs, between different cables, between different support systems, even between different machines.
I have looked on whilst experts have nodded knowingly at each other and offered prognosis about timing, tingle factor
and sound stages whilst my main concern throughout has been that the cellos were on the left instead of the right.

Like many of your readers I have often felt awkward when I've had to say "I can't hear any difference!" or in answer
to a salesman's question, "doesn't that sound wonderful?" I've had to reply-

"No, I don't like it."

So, as I turned to your "Good Tweaking Guide" in your March issue, I looked forward to having a good "scoff" and self
satisfied chuckle. But as a result of reading the article I found myself ordering a four in line power distribution box from
Campaign Audio Design. "Well", I thought, "at least it will be better put together than my B&Q special."

I can honestly say that I expected no change at all in the sound of my system and was looking forward to calling
Campaign Audio Design to tell them so. However, I duly listened to ten minutes or so of music then in a matter of
seconds re-connected my equipment using the new box... The difference was staggering! One of the most significant
upgrades I have ever made. I won't attempt to search for poet adjectives to describe the change but must record my
thanks to David Price for his article (other parts of which I'm still not having!).

As I sit hunched over the catalogue of interconnects and speaker wire I am considering forming a Lancashire branch
of, "Tweakers Anonymous".

Thanks for the magazine, I really enjoy it.

Working for a record company with a diverse catalogue of artists, I have really put these leads through their paces.
They are equally at home with classical as they are with dance and reggae! A true all rounder.

Thanks for your time on the phone today. I am convinced that the SCL3000 are the best leads I have ever heard.

I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the cables you supplied me recently - and to put in another order!
I must say I was slightly sceptical about the difference the mains lead could make, but the effect of the Conqueror cable
was quite staggering. Combined with the SCL1000 speaker cable I have uncovered extra detail and separation, better
soundstaging, and new levels of bass depth and clarity. Please accept my thanks and congratulations for such superb quality
and value for money.

Hi Ian,

First off, let me just say that I am extremely impressed with your Conqueror SLC500/3000 bi-wire combination.

Overall, I'm finding the cables to be very neutral, natural, and basically, "characterless". By comparison my old 8TC is
somewhat hard and coloured in the midrange, lacks the level of bass accuracy of your cable, and the top-end is somewhat
shut-in by comparison. They have the wonderful property of simply transporting the signal from the amplifier to speakers
with minimal alteration; they seem to add or subtract almost nothing, they "get out of the way of the music".

I'm getting a turntable over Christmas (Rega P3), so I need some interconnects.

[ CAN WE PLEASE QUOTE YOU? ]

Yes, absolutely. Your prices are very competitive and your "gimmick and marketing free" philosophy is ultimately obvious
from the high performance of your cables. Too much in Hifi is overpriced, so it is nice when that is not the case!

John Toon.
