The Cheltenham Wargaming Association was formed in the 1970s and currently has around a couple of dozen members.

Meetings are held every Monday evening (except on Bank Holidays)

The scope of our games range from earliest times - when the King of the Sumerians, about to saddle up, first uttered those immortal words "does my onager look big in this?" - to the future and beyond ...

Most games are of the one-to-one variety but there will generally be a larger participation game which anyone can join in. Unlike some clubs, Fantasy (Games Workshop type stuff) is not proscribed and most of our members enjoy both the historical and the hysterical.

The aims of this website include providing information on the club to current and prospective members (or even wargamers just passing through), to explain a little about the wild and wacky world of wargames and to post news and other items of interest to members of the CWA.

roll them sixes"Intelligence and war are games, perhaps the only meaningful games left."
