Links

It is customary for every website to include a list of links to related sites (thus providing visitors with a quick getaway). The following wargames related websites can be accessed by clicking on the link. Generally, only the acme of sites are included - though these all embrace links to other, more esoteric, corners of the Web - or those of relevance to games played by members of the Cheltenham Wargaming Association.

British Historical Games Society

A little bland (note the 'New Labour' style use of Historical Games rather than Wargames) but still a useful port-of-call for who, what & where. You can register on a 'Find A Wargames Opponent' database for free.

Society Of Ancients

Scholastic site dedicated to all things ancient. Very respected but occasionally portentous.

Society Of 20th Century Wargamers

Proper treatment for what we might term 'modern' wargaming (that last century is so passe).

DBM

The rules for ancients. RBS & PB claim their 5th amendment! Required viewing for all DBMsters.

DBA Online

If you're new to wargames try out this online taster. DBA is a fast-play version of DBM.

Horse, Foot & Guns

No, not the latest disease sweeping our farms but rule musings by the 'Rule Writer General' Phil Barker.

Games Workshop

Warhammer Historical

A commercial site, but like all their products you just can't stop yourself. Warhammer Historical takes you to GW's Warhammer Ancient Battles pages.

Fire & Fury

Dedicated to the eponymous American Civil War Rules. Plenty of ready-made scenarios.

Flames of War

Official site for our new favourite WWII rules. Extremely comprehensive coverage of all things Flames Of War, new articles added every week.

Nihon Kaigan

Comprehensive site dedicated to the Imperial Japanese Navy. Excellent technical details.

Wargames Journal

The Miniatures Page

A couple of the better magazine style pages on all things wargaming. If you enjoy posting your bon mots to the world, try out the TMP message boards.

The War Of 1812

One of the best examples of a website dedicated to a particular war. Produced by a Canadian production company and based on a TV series, which probably explains the professional quality.

Osprey Books

A vast selection of great value books. From Alexander to Zosimus, Alamein to Zurich, and for all things relating to battles, uniforms, armies and weapons. The site includes some excellent articles by Osprey authors.

Evesham Wargames Club

Our friends up north. If you study the photo carefully you'll see members of the CWA taking on the mighty Evesham Club in a Flames of War mini tournament.

Grimsby Wargames Society

Even more up north than Evesham. Specialists in Rapid Fire!
