We are registered to take children from 2 years 6 months to 5 years of age.We are registered for 26 places.

We offer morning sessions on a Monday & Tuesday. We offer school day care on a Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Lunch facilities are available Monday to Friday.

We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and a registered charity.

All the pre-school team are fully qualified or are working towards qualifications in NVQ III or NVQ II in Childcare and Education.

We constantly continue to strive for strong links with Barford St. Peter’s Primary School.

We are working in partnership with the school and regular meetings are held throughout the year between the Reception Teacher and the Group Leader of Barford Pre-School.

We meet with the Reception Teacher during the summer term to discuss the individual progress of the children who will be joining in September and liaise with the school to secure visits by the children to the school, and visits by the Reception Teacher to pre-school.

We feel that the children benefit greatly through these links and so enjoy a far easier transition into mainstream school life.

Barford Preschool is a registered charity (No. 1022936) and this site has been set up to provide information about and raise funds for Barford Preschool.

The children are offered refreshments during the course of each session. This takes the form of milk or water and a snack, usually fruit. If your child has any dietary requirements please advise the staff.

Welcome to Barford Pre-school

We aim to provide a happy and caring atmosphere within our pre-school, encouraging each individual child to develop at his or her own rate.

A child’s admission to pre-school can cause anxiety for the child and for the parent too!

Do not worry if your child is not yet toilet trained, as we will take children still in nappies, this is something we do need to be made aware of when your child starts at pre-school.

For children aged 2 years 6 months we operate a Teddy Bear Club which allows you and your child the chance to visit our pre-school together. This will help us get to know you and your child and vice versa! It will also allow you to ask any questions, or discuss any worries or problems you may have with our staff.
