BRIXWORTH
COUNTRY PARK/PITSFORD WATER RESERVOIR
Where is it?
Pitsford Water reservoir and the country park are easily
accessible from the A508 being approximately 6 miles from Northampton to the
south and 6 miles from the A14 to the north.
The reservoir is an ideal venue for walking, cycling, sailing and fishing.
Starting from Brixworth Country Park you can enjoy a 6 mile walk around the southern area of Pitsford Water. There is also a new cycle route around the reservoir for the more energetic with a hire centre and bike shop and waterside café at the country park.
The northern end of the reservoir is a large Nature Reserve which is jointly run by Anglian Water and the Wildlife Trust for Northamptonshire. To avoid disturbance, fishing and sailing are prohibited in most of the Nature Reserve and access is for permit holders only.
